Celebrities Are Getting In On The Quarantine #PillowChallenge
April 23, 2020 at 09:00PM We’re into week six of social distancing, and the internet is showing no signs of fatigue when it comes to creativity. TikTok is bursting with videos, Tiger King memes are still coming in thick and fast, and now, style inspiration is coming from the last place we would have expected: pillows. Yep, you read that right. One of the newest trends to sweep the ‘gram is the #QuarantinePillowChallenge which sees fashionistas style their pillows as dresses secured in place with a belt and then accessorized. It really brings a whole new meaning to loungewear. Increasingly, celebrities are getting in on the action, too. Hilariously, Anne Hathaway channeled her iconic Princess Diaries character Mia as she shared an image of herself doing the challenge overnight. Noting her lateness to the game, the actress wrote, “A Queen is never late, everyone else is simply early.” See some of the best looks we’ve seen from the #QuarantinePillowChallenge so far below: View this post on Instagram “A Queen is never late; everyone else is simply early.” ? #pillowchallenge A post shared by Anne Hathaway (@annehathaway) on Apr 22, 2020 at 7:52am PDT //www.instagram.com/embed.js View this post on Instagram Am I too late? #pillowchallenge A post shared by Tracee Ellis Ross (@traceeellisross) on Apr 20, 2020 at 4:05pm PDT //www.instagram.com/embed.js View this post on Instagram You already KNOW you couldn’t keep me from the #PillowChallenge ? I Traded My Sweats For This $19 Comfy Jumpsuit, and Honestly, It Feels the Same
April 23, 2020 at 08:50PM Since I’ve been spending all my time at home, I had been taking full advantage of wearing sweats and giving my face a break from from makeup. Now that I’m a little over a month into being here, and honestly, I could use a pick-me-up. I upped my game to matching sweatsuits, which seemed more formal and using tinted moisturize, it felt great. But I decided I was ready to take it one level further and treat myself to a piece of clothing that is also acceptable to wear when this is all over, too. The Old Nacy Square-Neck Cami Jumpsuit ($19, originally $39) was the versatile piece I was looking for. The jumpsuit ticks all my boxes: it has pockets, it’s comfy, I can wear it around the house, and outside with sneakers, sandals, you name it. Ringing in at just $20 makes it hard to refuse, because the cozy pick is one that I wear now and so much more later, making it worth every penny. If you’re also looking to spruce up your closet, then there’s no doubt a comfortable jumpsuit is the way to go. Ahead, you can shop the one I own, in addition to a few other favorites on my wish list. Keep reading to check them all out. 13 Eco-Friendly Red Carpet Looks We’re Still Talking About Today
April 23, 2020 at 08:16PM If there’s one thing I’ve learned through the years, it’s that eco-friendly gowns are nothing to scoff at. While some celebrities have been wearing archival vintage pieces as a nod to sustainability, others have been teaming up with designers to come up with creative ways to go completely green. While there have been plenty of A-listers over the years who have championed sustainable fashion on the red carpet, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the queen of eco-friendly fashion, Emma Watson. The actress was one of the first to “go green” on the red carpet. I’m still not over Emma’s black-and-white Calvin Klein Collection Met Gala dress, which she wore in 2016. You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at it, but the stunning gown was made out of plastic bottles! That year, she joined Margot Robbie, who wore a cutout gown, and Lupita Nyong’o, who wore a shimmery green number, both of which were eco-friendly pieces by Calvin Klein. Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, and Versace have all also created gorgeous sustainable red carpet gowns that we’re still dreaming about. Keep reading to take a look back at some of the most memorable eco-friendly red carpet moments ahead. Toronto-Based Fashion Brands Team Up For COVID-19 Relief Initiative
April 23, 2020 at 08:00PM If you’re looking for another reason to shop local at this time, a cohort of some of Canada’s most well-loved labels is giving you just that. From today, an impressive line-up of Canadian fashion brands are coming together to help raise money for the University Health Network which will then distribute the funds to support frontline workers. Organized by Andrews and Kate Middleton-approved brand Smythe, the program – called #TorontoFashionUnited – begins today and runs until April 26. The program features around 20 designers from Toronto including Alfred Sung, Augustina, Carole Tannenbaum Vintage, Jenny Bird, FORTNIGHT, Pink Tartan, Suetables (whose designs have been worn by Meghan Markle), Ela Handbags and more. 10 per cent of all sales made by the brands over the next three days will be donated to the initiative. “We are in unprecedented times and wanted to rally Toronto fashion businesses, as a collective, to do our part and give back to the brave frontline workers taking care of our community,” Darren Mason, the owner of Andrews said in a release. Louise Aspin, the senior vice president and chief development officer at the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, added, “Shoppers can feel good knowing their support will help accelerate the pace of what is possible, both in supporting frontline staff at our hospitals and critical research that can put an end to this pandemic.” For the full list of participants, click here. 16 Kate Hudson Movie Outfits I’m Saving in My Back Pocket For Spring
April 23, 2020 at 08:08PM Kate Hudson‘s early 2000s movies are my prime suggestion right now for content worth absorbing during the lockdown. You’re probably like, “Yes Sarah, we know. You already dressed up like her *eye roll*.” But it’s not just How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days that’s chock-full of outfits I’d rather be wearing. I still watch Fool’s Gold obsessively before packing my bag for the beach because Kate’s character Tess reminds me to include my printed headband – no bikini is complete without it! And I still eagerly await Liv’s next outfit in Bride Wars, even though I’ve seen that movie like 10,000 times. But IDK man, that strapless Vera Wang wedding gown just gets more and more majestic every time I see it. Right now though, I’m hyper-focused on the everyday looks that I can memorize as I slowly build up my Spring wardrobe in anticipation of better, brighter days ahead. Being that a lot of 2020 trends involve incorporating styles we saw gain popularity in the late ’90s/early aughts, the characters Kate Hudson plays in some of her greatest films – You, Me and Dupree, Le Divorce, Raising Helen, and the list goes on – are filling up my mood board. Scroll down to see which outfits I fully intend on re-creating, and just try to pick a favorite.
