This Adorable Maxi Dress You Keep Seeing on Instagram Is Only $12 Right Now

April 21, 2020 at 05:41PM Just like doing my hair or spending extra time grooming my eyebrows, putting in the extra effort to find something cute to wear – even if I’m just working from home and in sweats – has the ability to affect my mood. There’s certainly no replacement for stylish loungewear, but I was curious as to what would happen if I challenged myself to wear a dress while working from home – weather dependent, of course. In part because I kept seeing this adorable printed maxi dress in my Instagram feed, which I’ll link to ahead, but also because I was just genuinely curious about whether I’d feel silly wearing a dress inside, or if I’d love it. I’m happy to report that last week, I wore a thin maxi dress inside three times! Not only was I completely comfortable (important note that I only wore easy-breezy dresses; nothing formfitting), but exuded a bit more pep throughout my day. I encourage you to take a break from your usual loungewear game and embark on a dress journey. If you need some shopping ideas, here’s the dress that got me in the mood – it’s on sale for $12, too! How to Wash and Care for Your Clothes During Quarantine, Even If You Can’t Get to the Laundromat

April 21, 2020 at 05:23PM BY MADISON FELLER MUTIA ADISOMA Now that most of us are homebound, trying our best to social distance and do our part to ease the spread of COVID-19, household chores have taken on a new meaning. Gone are the days of leisurely hanging around a laundromat waiting for your sheets to finally dry, not to mention hiring a handyman or casually swinging by a tailor. For now, it’s all in our hands—literally. In order to tackle the clothing care, ELLE.com turned to Corinna and Theresa Williams, the co-founders of Celsious, a sustainable laundromat in Brooklyn. Currently, Celsious is only open for drop-offs and collections, but they’re offering priority booking for anyone on the front lines, workers in essential services, the immunocompromised, those 65 years or older, and families with small children. Below, we caught up with the two sisters in-between washes to get their expert advice on how to properly take care of clothes at home, especially as more and more people have limited access to laundromats. What are your tips for hand-washing clothes at home? SONETT LIQUID LAUNDRY DETERGENT myshopify.com $22.50 SHOP NOW Instead of waiting for a pile to amass, the way you might if you’re trying to fill a machine, it’s best to hand wash as you go, little by little. When you spend most of your time at home, it’s likely you’re choosing to wear pieces that are easy to wash anyway—comfortable cotton, for example—so it’ll be easy to hand wash those in a sink or

Dua Lipa Made a Grocery Run to Buy Dishwasher Tablets in This Adorable Daisy-Print Crop Top

April 21, 2020 at 04:33PM The first thing I thought of when I saw Dua Lipa’s latest Instagram post was that her retro crop top actually made me want to dress up for a change. (Like most, I’m been sticking to my comfy loungewear rather than dressing up while working from home.) The second thing was “Stars, they’re just like us. They need dishwasher tablets, too!” But I digress. The “Don’t Start Now” singer has been sheltering in place with boyfriend Anwar Hadid in London the past few weeks where they’ve been showing off their adorable couple style. Anwar even helped Dua dye her hair pink! Cue the awws. Most recently, the singer had to take a necessary trip to the grocery store and switched out of sweats for the trip. She captioned the Instagram photos, “Off to buy dishwasher tablets brb.” In the photos, which she captioned “Off to buy dishwasher tablets brb,” she wore a long-sleeved crop top that had a ’70s feel to it, thanks to its daisy print. Dua styled the top with a pair of black cargo pants and practical combat boots. She finished her outfit off with rectangular sunglasses and, of course, a face mask for preventative safety measures. London Fashion Week Announces It’s Going Gender Neutral and Digital

April 21, 2020 at 03:55PM The British Fashion Council announced today that it will launch a new digital platform to connect designers with media, buyers, consumers and more. It will launch in June, when the city’s men’s shows were set to start, and the platform will continue over the year with a gender neutral format to allow participating designers more flexibility. “It is essential to look at the future and the opportunity to change, collaborate and innovate,” the BFC’s chief executive, Caroline Rush, said in a press release that went out with early details about how the new LFW will be presented. “The current pandemic is leading us all to reflect more poignantly on the society we live in and how we want to live our lives and build businesses when we get through this. The other side of this crisis, we hope will be about sustainability, creativity and product that you value, respect, cherish.” Photo by Imaxtree. As the first of the four major fashion week cities to announce future plans, the new take on LFW addresses not only the immediate issues of travel restrictions and halted production in light of COVID-19; it also hones in on other elements that have long needed to be addressed throughout the industry on a global scale, from the environmental impact and relevance of the fashion weeks themselves, to manufacturing and the cycle in which items are sold. Designers will have the opportunity to use the platform to sell not only forthcoming designs

Tracee Ellis Ross Just Set a New Standard For the Pillow Challenge

April 21, 2020 at 03:47PM Tracee Ellis Ross just gave the #PillowChallenge a go on Instagram, following in Halle Berry‘s footsteps. I really was going to try the pillow challenge at some point during the lockdown, I swear. I even had the right pillowcase picked out, perfectly coordinated with my translucent white belt – the one with the oversize buckle. It is by no means as cool as the long yellow Off-White logo belt some women are using to secure their looks, but I was going to try my best. But now that Tracee has completely dominated this quest in neutrals, artistically posed on the windowsill between her beautiful plants, I think I’ll just give up. “Am I too late?” she asked her followers. No Tracee, of course you’re not too late, because just like every other somewhat avant-garde trend, you wear this one with beauty, confidence, and grace – like it was made for you. It’s safe to say that if there’s one fashion risk taker I miss following from red carpet to red carpet right now, it’s Ms. Ross. Thank goodness she rose to the challenge – literally and figuratively, since she also posted a candid standing shot on her Instagram Stories – and provided me with all the at-home pillow style I need to get me through. London Fashion Week Goes Digital and Gender-Neutral in a Positive Move For British Fashion

April 21, 2020 at 03:22PM For the first time ever, the British Fashion Council will officially merge London Fashion Week‘s womenswear and menswear shows into a single, gender-neutral showcase. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, LFW will also launch a digital-only platform open to both industry insiders and fashion enthusiasts until June 2021. Who would have thought that COVID-19 would be the catalyst that LFW needed to embrace more sustainable practices? Merging womenswear and menswear schedules means fewer but better-quality shows, which translates to much less waste produced during Fashion Weeks. The move to digital will also boost morale for British fashion by making viewing access to new collections more inclusive, leading to more engagement from everyday shoppers. LFW’s gender-neutral show schedule will continue for the next 12 months (until April 2021), while LFW’s digital platform will be accessible from June 12, 2020, and until June 2021. Related: It’s Official: The 2020 Met Gala Has Been Postponed “It is essential to look at the future and the opportunity to change, collaborate and innovate. Many of our businesses have always embraced London Fashion Week as a platform for not just fashion but for its influence on society, identity and culture. The current pandemic is leading us all to reflect more poignantly on the society we live in and how we want to live our lives and build businesses when we get through this,” said Caroline Rush, CBE, BFC chief executive, in a press statement, “The other side of this crisis, we

Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse Are Reportedly ‘Still Together’ Amid Kaia Gerber Cheating Rumors

April 21, 2020 at 02:41PM   Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart are quarantining apart, with Reinhart alone in Vancouver; that was enough to spark breakup rumors when fans started speculating over the weekend that Sprouse may have cheated on Reinhart with Kaia Gerber. Sprouse and Reinhart spoke out against the unfounded and “baseless” speculation about their personal lives, while E! spoke to a source that gave an update on what Sprouse and Reinhart’s actual relationship status is. For context, fans believed that Sprouse was quarantining in Los Angeles and that he hung out with Gerber because the house photo they shared on their Instagram Stories appeared to be similar. Fans also noticed that Reinhart took down several photos of her and Sprouse together on her Instagram and that her mother and sister appeared to unfollow Sprouse. Reinhart spoke out against the rumors first, writing in a since-deleted tweet, “Twitter is actually the most toxic form of social media. People are assholes for the sake of being assholes. Do you not understand karma? It’s fine if you don’t, you’ll understand when it bites your miserable ass.” Lili’s tweet before it was deleted. Twitter She additionally posted on her Instagram Story, “Dear everyone on social media, Don’t put down people for the sake of putting them down. Don’t be a f**cking asshole. The world doesn’t need anymore of that shit.” Instagram Sprouse posted a series of Instagram Stories yesterday, addressing the situation: I tolerate a lot of rumors and slander from people
