Canada’s Biggest Names are Uniting for a COVID-19 Benefit Concert

Some of the biggest names in Canadian music are coming together this Sunday for a special event, titled ‘Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble,’ to raise money for Food Banks Canada and to celebrate Canadian frontline staff across various industries working in the fight against the coronavirus. In addition to musical performers, ‘Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble’ will also feature Canadian actors, athletes, activists and other celebrities. So far, confirmed names include comedic icons Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, tennis champion Bianca Andreescu, astronaut Chris Hadfield, ice hockey player Connor McDavid, author Margaret Atwood, swimmer Penny Oleksiak, comedian Russell Peters, musician Jessie Reyez, figure skater Tessa Virtue and actors Stephan James, Eric McCormack and Will Arnett. The one-hour event will be broadcast across two dozen TV, radio and streaming platforms on Bell Media, CBC/Radio Canada, Corus, Rogers Media and Group V on Sunday, April 26, at 7pm ET/7.30pm NT. “Front-line workers, across so many sectors, including food banking, have been drastically impacted by COVID-19,” said Chris Hatch, CEO of Food Banks Canada, in a statement. “They need our support and we are thankful for Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble for helping our most vulnerable neighbours.” A similar charity event took place this past weekend, organized by the World Health Organization and Global Citizen. The romantic number features long, voluminous sleeves and a subtly ruffled hem, and the Russian assassin styles it with a red floral hair accessory, woven brown leather bag, and white mules with golden ball-shaped heels while exploring her new home in Barcelona. The look is right up there with her famous bubblegum-pink tulle dress from season one in terms of chicness. As soon as Villanelle showed up on screen in the enchanting dress, I couldn’t help but scour the depths of the internet to track it down – and my search led to quite the fun discovery. Designed by The Vampire’s Wife, the piece is named after the reigning queen of killer style herself! The so-called Villanelle Dress also comes in black, and both versions are currently available for preorder online. In a just-released interview for Good Morning America, Meghan discusses her close ties to the project and her passion for learning about elephants. The interview was filmed in 2019, and we weren’t surprised to spot Meghan in her signature Suetables gold zodiac necklaces, which she wears regularly for Prince Harry and her son, Archie. She was last pictured in the Vanessa Coin Zodiac pendants when she paid a visit to Broom Farm Community Centre in Windsor, styling them with a lightweight white blouse. This time around, Meghan wore them with a button-down similar to the one she enlisted her good friend Misha Nonoo to create for The Smart Set fashion collection, her previous collaboration with Smart Works. We’re not positive the shirt is the one she’s wearing on GMA, of course, but it’s definitely easy to assume she’d pull out a go-to, feel-good basic to talk about a documentary that’s so close to her heart.
