But unlike many people opting to dress casually or go makeup-free when they can, Kate Middleton is still dressing up for all her calls and virtual engagements. She is royal, after all. The Duchess of Cambridge has done several Zoom calls and interviews of which the Kensington Palace Instagram has shared footage. In many, the Duchess has been wearing dresses, some of which she has worn before for other events. Here, a look at each outfit she has worn so far. Kate’s Debut Zoom Outfit: A Mustard Zara Sweater INSTAGRAM The Duchess dressed in a more casual look (at least by royal standards) when talking with children and educators at Casterton Primary Academy with her husband Prince William. Oprah Winfrey Just Announced a Virtual Wellness Tour
May 12, 2020 at 10:25PM Earlier this year, Oprah Winfrey embarked on a wellness tour in partnership with WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers. Titled “2020 Vision,” the tour featured one-on-one conversations with celebrities like Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga, but was put on hold because of the coronavirus. Now, Oprah has announced that she’s taking the wellness tour virtual. “In early 2020, I spent nine weeks travelling the country, talking to people about being well and staying focused. It was exhilarating. Then the pandemic hit and shook us all,” Winfrey said in a statement. “Now, it’s more important than ever to be and stay well and strong. BEST FACE FORWARD Double up on SPF “Summers are usually forgiving on your skin, but there’s one thing you have to be careful about: A lot of women and men experience hyperpigmentation,” says Dr. Sheetal Sapra, director of dermatology and co-founder of ICLS in the Greater Toronto Area. And don’t assume you only need SPF in the scorching summer—by April, the UV Index can hit or surpass 3 (considered moderate), and sun exposure is a trigger for stubborn dark spots. For daily protection year-round, Sapra favours mineral sunscreens, but these are often not adequately water-resistant. His pro trick? If you’re working up a sweat outside in spring and summer, layer a chemical sunscreen over your mineral one. Ditch the rich stuff Once you’ve put away your winter woollens, you can likewise lighten up your moisturizer by trading your jar of rich cream for a gel-based hydrator or a hyaluronic acid serum. Pores tend to get bigger and produce more oil in warmer weather, says Sapra, noting that guys tend to get slicker than women do and they’re also more acne-prone. “In the winter, I’ll use a very gentle cleanser—no exfoliants,” he says. House Dresses Have a Whole New Meaning in 2020, and I Welcome Them With Open Arms
May 12, 2020 at 09:35PM The term “house dress” originated in the late 19th century and gained popularity in the early 20th century, and described a frock designated for doing chores around the house or running errands. It was by no means presentable enough to travel in or wear to a function; but in the 1950s, these became progressively more stylish. House dresses were part of the daily uniform, many coming as part of a set with matching aprons or gloves, in floral and gingham prints, or with pockets. But in 2020, all the house dress really means to me is something functional, yet romantic that is also comfortable (think: poplin or linen fabric in loose silhouettes or a breezy shirtdress). These dresses also have details like pouf sleeves, embroidery, or frilled skirts that make them stylish enough on their own without even a pair of shoes. I don’t want to say they were made for your next stay-at-home photo shoot, but I mean, weren’t they? At its core, the house dress is just the laid-back, lovable look you reach for when you’re tired of your sweats and you want to dress up a little bit. The style is even being referred to as the “house dress” by some of our favorite brands and leaders in fashion, and at least one pops up on my Instagram feed every day – so that’s how you know it’s a trend. The supermodel, who is currently quarantining with her husband Justin Bieber at their house in Toronto, Canada, posted a picture of herself in a red hot bikini by Juillet. It looks like when she’s not starring in Justin’s new music videos, Hailey is getting some R&R in their sauna, which is located on their property. Hailey posed in an itsy-bitsy red bikini with her hands covering her face and captioned the photo, “quarantine sweat.” Well, that’s definitely one way to steam up our phone screens. In the picture, Hailey posed in the sauna wearing a bright red two-piece by Juillet, which is sadly sold out in that specific color. Her bikini featured a strapless bandeau top and a pair of matching high-leg string bottoms. Each year, the festival brings some of the year’s most incredible red carpet moments – the glitz and glamour of the location seemingly influencing the outfit choices of its many Hollywood attendees. However, given that the world is currently in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s festival has been cancelled. Instead, the festival’s board has decided to collaborate with other festivals scheduled to be held later in the year to premiere some of this year’s films, though at this stage it is entirely unknown as to what could go ahead.
