If Danielle Bernstein’s New Book Isn’t About Fashion, What’s It About Anyway?
May 18, 2020 at 09:43PM Danielle Bernstein runs her own successful business, having recently launched her own namesake label at Macy’s and keeping many a closet satisfied with her signature brand of WeWoreWhat overalls, swimwear, and denim. At first, she was a young student learning the ropes in New York City, and that’s exactly what her book, This Is Not a Fashion Story: Taking Chances, Breaking Rules, and Being a Boss in the Big City is about. Just like us, you might be surprised to learn that the non-fiction premise is not centered on her career in fashion, but largely on her love life and striving to reach her goals. “This Is Not a Fashion Story started as a very different type of book five years ago after a very horrible break-up, and I decided to stop writing because I felt that I wasn’t ready or had enough to share yet. Other goals of mine were to get on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and to be featured in The New York Times, and I did both of those before the age of 25. My next goal is to become a New York Times best-selling author,” Danielle told POPSUGAR. Bernstein, who admits that her go-to writing outfit was sweatpants or silk pajamas, managed to focus on this project separately from her other endeavors, mostly on nights and weekends. Right now, she’s celebrating the release of the book at home, where she’s coming up with unique ways to rework her

5 Tips for Getting Back into the Swing of Things
May 18, 2020 at 09:00PM As isolation restrictions begin to relax for some, it’s time to think about returning to normality, and re-establishing some kind of a healthy routine. Remember, the JSHealth philosophy is all about balance and kindness. I want to help you live a sustainable healthy life, rather than encouraging a strict diet to help you get back to the healthiest version of yourself! The JSHealth way will allow you to stay on track – not just jump onboard a fad diet, only to fail within the week, and condemn yourself to unhealthy habits! So here are my top five tips to help you get back into the swing of your healthy lifestyle! 1. Prepare Don’t stress, I’m not saying you need to meal prep all your meals for the week! That can get boring very quickly, and can also seem like a huge effort! Instead, focus on packing healthy snacks to carry with you throughout the day. Think things like fruit, chopped vegetable sticks with hummus, or boiled eggs. These things require minimal preparation, but will keep you satiated, and stabilise your blood sugar levels – meaning you’ll be less likely to reach for sugary, less healthy options you might have become accustomed to over the holidays… Also, stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as lean proteins and healthy fats. Keeping these items in your kitchen means you’re much more likely to choose healthy alternatives, and cook for yourself – you have everything you
Is It Just My “Watermelon Sugar” High, or Are These Swimsuits Straight Out of a ModCloth Catalog?
May 18, 2020 at 08:31PM To say I’m inspired by the style in Harry Styles’s new “Watermelon Sugar” music video would be downplaying my obsession. Because I have honestly spent the last two hours thinking about and searching for retro-inspired swimwear similar to the designs seen across Harry’s beach here. Gingham apple prints! High-waist briefs with little bows! Mix-and-match floral and stripe patterns! Crochet! The options are endless when it comes to choosing a favorite ’70s-inspired style, and I don’t even want to choose a favorite – I just want to shop all of these playful, kitschy designs until my swim drawer explodes. Can you blame me? I’d love to know where the costume stylist for Harry’s video picked up the adorable two-pieces and monokinis, some of which come with matching cover-ups or beach pants, but I also love that this video has probably sent tons of people shopping for old-school swim silhouettes on a week day, because we could all use a welcome distraction right about now. Scroll down to re-watch the video – because I know you’ve played it at least once through already – then shop my own personal line-up of current must haves based on the fun wardrobe direction here. This Lightweight Robe Is the Comfiest Thing I’ve Ever Owned, and It’s Perfect For Summer
May 18, 2020 at 08:30PM You can catch me in loungewear pretty much every day of the week right now. Hands down, 90 percent of the time I have a bathrobe thrown on top of it. I have a fluffy robe that I’ve owned for years, but I was long overdue for a replacement. The thick material was weighing me down and felt too hot. I always feel sweaty throwing it on after stepping out of the shower or blow drying my hair in it. As I started my shopping journey for a new one, so many people recommended I try the Parachute Cloud Cotton Robe ($99). I had never owned a robe this luxe before, but I can now tell you from experience, it’s worth every penny. The soft texture just might be one of the most luxurious feeling things I’ve ever lounged in. Made from 100 percent long-staple Turkish cotton, it’s designed to feel comfy the second you put it on. The robe comes pre-washed, so you can slip it on right away and it already has a relaxed and comfortable fit to it. The brand’s material has been the biggest seller for me when it comes to the robe. It’s lightweight, but also comfy and cozy. I don’t feel too hot or too cold, and it’s the perfect choice for summer as the weather warms up. I literally never want to take it off. Old Navy’s $35 Stretchy Striped Blazer Is Back – See How Women Are Wearing It
May 18, 2020 at 08:15PM Classic Breton stripes are always a good idea. The simple sailor-like striped pattern looks adorable on T-shirts, long sleeves, and even blazers, and right now Old Navy has a perennial bestseller that we’re making room for in our closet. It’s made of a soft ponte-knit rayon and nylon blend with some added stretch, which means you can scrunch up the sleeves to your heart’s content without sacrificing comfort. (We hate when blazers are too stiff to even roll up the sleeves.) The Pinstriped Ponte-Knit Blazer ($38, originally $45) blazer is easy to incorporate into any existing wardrobe. You can throw it on over jeans and a simple white t-shirt or even an everyday dress. The blazer has been a bestseller and routinely sells out, but it’s back in stock right now, so don’t delay! We’re all about simple outfit upgrades, and this one is a smart buy. See how other women wear striped blazers if you need some styling inspiration.
