It’s Been 8 Years Since Gossip Girl Ended, and We’re Still Swooning Over Chuck Bass’s Style

May 15, 2020 at 11:20PM Chuck Bass has one of the most iconic wardrobes on Gossip Girl. Just like Blair Waldorf’s penchant for headbands and pencil skirts, Ed Westwick‘s character has his own signature and is almost always seen in a tailored suit paired with a colorful tie (and matching silk pocket square, of course!), With the news of the Gossip Girl spinoff coming to HBO Max this year, it was only a matter of time before we started to rewatch old episodes and relive these stylish moments. (Some people have even found hysterical fashion blunders, like Serena’s sweatpants-over-dress debacle, while rewatching the show!) Much like his charming personality, Chuck’s wardrobe is also pretty one of a kind, thanks to costume designer Eric Daman. Starting with season one, Chuck makes a major impression with his now-infamous red plaid scarf. Whether it’s 90 degrees or 10 degrees, Chuck always has the perfect suit for every occasion, ranging from linen to wool. We particularly love that his pajama and robe collection is on brand, too – you won’t find any old tees hiding in his closet! Ahead, please enjoy 15 style moments from the show we can’t stop reliving. I Tried Champion’s New Tie-Dye Loungewear and FYI, It’s a Pastel Summer Dream

May 15, 2020 at 09:40PM Sorry I’m not sorry, but tie-dye is still a huge obsession for me. The playful, colorful print is the instant mood-booster we could all use right about now. If you’re too lazy to try the craft project yourself, tons of cool brands are releasing fun loungewear in the pattern. My current favorite is the brand-new Champion Cloud Dye Collection ($30-$55). I tried it for myself and am totally obsessed. The classic silhouettes of Champion sweats combined with the on-trend look of tie-dye make for the perfect combination. The sweatshirt is cropped, so it doesn’t hang over my shorts that I want to show off. I also appreciate that these bottoms have deep pockets perfect for carrying my phone or an extra scrunchie. This set has become my new favorite weekend outfit while I’m chilling at home. Read on to see all the pieces and treat yourself before these must haves go out of stock. Not going to lie, I already added the t-shirt to my cart as well. Vancouver-Based Brand Zano by Sadj Celebrates Spring’s Most Photographed Flower

May 15, 2020 at 08:31PM The coming long weekend would typically be a time when we’d all be searching out the darling buds of May for our first real feel of spring. But with social distancing rules still in place, bringing a bit of the great outdoors to you is a little more realistic. Happily, Vancouver brand Zano by Sadj has an assortment of earrings that will let you enjoy the beauty of Instagram’s favourite flowers, the Cherry Blossom, all year long. Inspired by the brand’s founder Sadjéda Umar’s love of this floral symbol of the new season– “They’re like a bell that announces that it’s spring,” she says—the playful accessories evoke a sense of movement thanks to their smattering of ‘petals’ as well as full blossoms. “The picture I had in my head is when you look towards the sky, and the petals whirl around you in the wind,” says Umar. “That’s what I wanted to express with this design.” Photography courtesy of Zano by Sadj. Umar’s other creations are equally dynamic, with a strong use of colour and shape; you’ll find multi-coloured marble-like drops, and others that resemble rain clouds—but with an optimistic twist. After moving to Vancouver from Reunion Island, Umar was struck by the gloominess of the city’s winter months. “I wanted to turn this depressing vibe into something more positive,” she says. “I did the rain clouds in pastels to contrast with the weather—to see something else that wasn’t grey.” Since launching her brand in

2 ASOS “Models at Home” Share Their Best Outfit Selfie Tips

May 15, 2020 at 08:45PM ASOS has enlisted its staff, models, and brand ambassadors to shoot product from inside their own homes. As new collections are released, ASOS wants to offer more of a visual for customers than clothes on a plain white background. Shoppers who are familiar with ASOS have come to expect the online retailer’s signature modeling videos on the page, which highlight the way certain fabrics move and look in the light. But as we continue to social distance without the option of going into a studio, ASOS is brainstorming many ways to restrategize its approach to e-commerce, and this is a step in the right direction. In fact, after talking to Olivia Smith and Lotte Williams, who are both ASOS Insiders participating in this new “Models at Home” initiative, I decided I might even prefer the outfit selfie shots to something more professional. It’s nice to see how women choose to pare down their clothes in their own natural spaces, and I’m loving some of the options that have been selected for use on the site. Of course, I had questions for Olivia and Lotte, not only about what it’s like to work from home and stage these daily photo shoots for ASOS but about their own unique processes. I was sure they must have picked up a few #ootd selfie tips. Luckily, both women were willing to share plenty with me. Ahead, they break down everything to know about their prep work and how often

New Balance Came Out With These Rainbow Sneakers For Pride Month, and They’re So Magical

May 15, 2020 at 08:45PM The Kicks: New Balance Pride 327s ($100) Release Date: May 23, 2020 New Balance has just announced its 2020 Pride collection, and man, does it sparks joy. The collection includes two pairs of sneakers for both women and men: the FuelCell Echo, which is a running sneaker, and the classic lifestyle 327 model. While both styles are pure colorful perfection, I couldn’t stop thinking about the 327 silhouette. While the FuelCell Echos come in a knit material in blue and white, I love the fact that the 327s adopted the rainbow colors of the LGBTQ+ flag in a more subtle, colorblock fashion. The colorblock shoe features a patchwork of different colors that make up the flag along the body. There’s even a little heart with NB’s logo on the tongue, as well as a miniflag on the shoelaces. If you take a look at the inside of the shoe, you’ll notice that the sole says “love since 1906.” If you’re hoping to snag a pair (I know I am!), set your calendar for May 23. As for price point, the 327s are set to retail at $100 on NB’s website in North America. Keep reading to get a look at the rainbow sneakers from all angles ahead. Then, come back here on May 23 to shop them out when they are available. Mikhael Kale and Sylvia Mantella Team Up on Limited Edition Tee for COVID-19 Relief

May 15, 2020 at 08:00PM Today, Canadian fashion designer Mikhael Kale and philanthropist Sylvia Mantella are releasing a limited edition tee to help raise funds to support women escaping domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic. The T-shirt features one of Kale’s F/W20 lookbook images, accompanied by text that reads, “Ensemble, nous sommes plus forts” which means “Because we are all stronger together.” The image was shot in Paris back in March, before the COVID-19 pandemic fully took hold. Kale himself contracted COVID during this time, though has since fully recovered. 100 per cent of the sales from the shirts will be donated to Yellow Brick House Women’s and Children’s Emergency Shelters in Toronto. Since the pandemic began, the Yellow Brick House has seen a sharp increase in domestic violence and subsequently, its services. Kale tells us, “Yellow Brick House is one of the largest providers in Ontario of services to women and children escaping domestic violence and abuse. In 2020, domestic violence affects one in four women, and a woman is killed once every six days by her intimate partner in Canada. Yellow Brick House provides the lifesaving support services and prevention programs to individuals and families impacted by violence. There are so many women experiencing increased hardships because of COVID-19 isolation. The Yellow Brick House is currently incurring a cost of $20,000 per week to ensure the health and safety of women and children.” There are only 150 pieces available – and the shirts will go on sale today
