12 Times Blake Lively Took a Style Cue From Serena van der Woodsen
May 14, 2020 at 06:45PM Just like her memorable Gossip Girl character Serena van der Woodsen, Blake Lively knows how to put together a trendy outfit. While the actress is a fashionista in her own right, it definitely seems like her time on the CW show influenced her personal style. Even now, long after the show ended in 2012, Blake stills channels Serena from time to time. In addition to all of her flowy gowns and sequined minidresses, she has also sported some preppier looks, like Serena’s Constance Billard uniform. Whether you are a Gossip Girl fan or simply obsessed with Blake’s style, you’ll definitely get some major déjà vu as you scroll through her outfits ahead. Good Carbs, Bad Carbs — How to Make the Right Choices
Good Carbs: Vegetables: All of them. It is best to eat a variety of vegetables every day. Whole fruits: Apples, bananas, strawberries, etc. Legumes: Lentils, kidney beans, peas, etc. Nuts: Almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, peanuts, etc. Seeds: Chia seeds, pumpkin seeds. Whole grains: Choose grains that are truly whole, as in pure oats, quinoa, brown rice, etc. Tubers: Potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. People who are trying to restrict carbohydrates need to be careful with the whole grains, legumes, tubers and high-sugar fruit. Bad Carbs: Sugary drinks: Coca cola, Pepsi, Vitaminwater, etc. Sugary drinks are some of the unhealthiest things you can put into your body. Fruit juices: Unfortunately, fruit juices may have similar metabolic effects as sugar-sweetened beverages. White bread: These are refined carbohydrates that are low in essential nutrients and bad for metabolic health. This applies to most commercially available breads. Pastries, cookies and cakes: These tend to be very high in sugar and refined wheat. Ice cream: Most types of ice cream are very high in sugar, although there are exceptions. Candies and chocolates: If you’re going to eat chocolate, choose quality dark chocolate. French fries and potato chips: Whole potatoes are healthy, but french fries and potato chips are not. Carbs are highly controversial these days. The dietary guidelines suggest that we get about half of our calories from carbohydrates. On the other hand, some claim that carbs cause obesity and type 2 diabetes, and that most people should be avoiding them. There are good arguments

I’ve Slowed Down My Shopping, But I’m Still Eyeing These 31 Cool Basics
May 14, 2020 at 05:30PM To clarify, the title of this story refers to my shopping for fashion items. I say that because while I’ve been buying less clothing and fewer shoes and accessories lately, I’ve been spending more money on groceries and household cleaning products than ever. Nonetheless, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to doing a little extracurricular adding-to-cart here and there, even if it’s just browsing. Yes, I am, of course, prioritising the rational self-quarantine essentials first, but I can’t help but have a look at stay-at-home fashion items such as cosy slippers, cute loungewear and cool-feeling basics that I can wear both now and later, too. As they say—old habits die hard. To shop all the wearable-but-interesting basics I’m eyeing right now, just keep scrolling. I can’t be the only one who still loves wearing black in spring and summer. Of course, I’m eyeing the matching sweats, too. Sporty sandals, meet pink mock croc. There’s no such thing as too many cool tanks. Long shorts are very important right now. I love everything about this, from the print to the cut to the colour. I’ve been wanting a single, chunky gold ring, and this just might be the lucky winner. Tie-dye print clothing has been a major mood-lifter for me lately. Shop the matching Milan Biker Shorts ($90). Ripped jeans are in the middle of a comeback, and I’d like to be part of it. Just so cute. I think this speaks for itself. You’ll never get sick of these
Calvin Klein’s Pride Campaign Celebrates Individuality in the Most Beautiful Way
May 14, 2020 at 04:42PM While Pride month might look a little different this year without the parades and marches, the celebrations certainly won’t stop. Calvin Klein kicked off the festivities with its #PROUDINMYCALVINS campaign, which celebrates “self-expression and the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities.” The campaign stars nine different models, actors, artists, and activists in the LGBTQ+ community: Tommy Dorfman, Chella Man, MaryV, Pabllo Vittar, Jari Jones, Mina Gerges, Gia Woods, Reece King, and Ama Elsesser. Shot by photographer Ryan McGinley, the photos exude individuality and pride in the most beautiful way. The brand’s goal was for the LGBTQ+ community to feel fully represented by the range of faces and perspectives, with each talent being chosen for their authentic experiences. While the intimate campaign photos of course radiate the classic sexiness Calvin Klein is known for, the vulnerable shots speak to each model’s individual uniqueness. Check out the stripped-down video and admire all of the gorgeous campaign shots ahead.
