May 13, 2020 at 05:00AM Sandal brand Arizona Love popped up on my radar last year when I spotted a steady stream of Instagram influencers wearing the printed trek sandals. Jessie Bush, Erica Davies and our very own Who What Wear columnist Monikh were all spotted wearing the shoes. There was only one problem: They kept selling out. Thankfully, the brand has created even more styles and has been restocked on various online retailers. Much like the Velcro “dad” sandals by Chanel, Teva‘s classic hikers and all the other iterations before and after, these are sandals of the practical variety. While they’re a traditional hiking style, the multicoloured fabric wrapped around the straps make them so much more fun. The brand was started only a couple of years by French designer Leslie Halfon but they’ve become a real fashion-insider score, and completely sold out last summer. So take it from us: You’ll want to get your hands on these pretty quickly before it happens again. Style Notes: Trust Monikh to be wearing one of the biggest sandal brands around right now. Style Notes: Wear with a short white dress à la Jessie Bush. Style Notes: More proof that these look excellent with a summer dress. Style Notes: If you need some pedi inspo, then might we suggest a bold red for the leopard-print versions? Style Notes: Another great thing about these sandals is that, despite the bold patterns, is that they still work with plenty of other colours. Case in point? This lime-green dress as seen on Erica Davies. Next up, the

Kate Middleton’s Royal Take on Zoom Call Fashion? Always Dressing Up
May 12, 2020 at 10:55PM BY ALYSSA BAILEY INSTAGRAM Even the British royal family is using Zoom, as much of the UK and U.S. quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic. But unlike many people opting to dress casually or go makeup-free when they can, Kate Middleton is still dressing up for all her calls and virtual engagements. She is royal, after all. The Duchess of Cambridge has done several Zoom calls and interviews of which the Kensington Palace Instagram has shared footage. In many, the Duchess has been wearing dresses, some of which she has worn before for other events. Here, a look at each outfit she has worn so far. Kate’s Debut Zoom Outfit: A Mustard Zara Sweater INSTAGRAM The Duchess dressed in a more casual look (at least by royal standards) when talking with children and educators at Casterton Primary Academy with her husband Prince William. Kate wore a Zara sweater, paired with Catherine Zoraida gold leaf earrings. The earrings go for about $202. This content is imported from Instagram. Titled “2020 Vision,” the tour featured one-on-one conversations with celebrities like Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga, but was put on hold because of the coronavirus. Now, Oprah has announced that she’s taking the wellness tour virtual. “In early 2020, I spent nine weeks travelling the country, talking to people about being well and staying focused. Together, let’s reset, refocus and find clarity in what matters most.” View this post on Instagram The world has experienced a reset and I think it’s an opportunity for us as individuals to do that, too. How to Take Your Beauty Routine From Winter to Summer
May 12, 2020 at 10:16PM As you swap out your winter clothes for lighter layers, your skin and hair could also use a seasonal update. Ahead, pro-recommended tweaks to keep your complexion and your strands healthy and flawless as you transition from winter to a summer beauty routine. BEST FACE FORWARD Double up on SPF “Summers are usually forgiving on your skin, but there’s one thing you have to be careful about: A lot of women and men experience hyperpigmentation,” says Dr. Sheetal Sapra, director of dermatology and co-founder of ICLS in the Greater Toronto Area. And don’t assume you only need SPF in the scorching summer—by April, the UV Index can hit or surpass 3 (considered moderate), and sun exposure is a trigger for stubborn dark spots. For daily protection year-round, Sapra favours mineral sunscreens, but these are often not adequately water-resistant. His pro trick? If you’re working up a sweat outside in spring and summer, layer a chemical sunscreen over your mineral one. Ditch the rich stuff Once you’ve put away your winter woollens, you can likewise lighten up your moisturizer by trading your jar of rich cream for a gel-based hydrator or a hyaluronic acid serum. Pores tend to get bigger and produce more oil in warmer weather, says Sapra, noting that guys tend to get slicker than women do and they’re also more acne-prone. “In the winter, I’ll use a very gentle cleanser—no exfoliants,” he says. But in the summer, to de-gunk pores, you can switch
This Long Weekend, Take a Trip With These Travel-Inspired Scents
May 12, 2020 at 10:00PM Right now, aside from the occasional trip to the grocery store, the only travelling we’re really doing is from our couch to our kitchen to our bed. As the days turn into weeks and the weeks turn into months, it’s becoming clearer that we’re not going to be able to “escape” to a beautiful destination anytime soon. Any hope for grand summer plans may be drifting away, but there is still one way to be transported to a sunny beach or bustling city. Stock up on travel-inspired candles and essential oils that remind you of your favourite travel spots, or that evoke visions of places you’ve always wanted to visit. It may not be as good as the real thing, but it’s still a sensory escape of sorts, and that’s enough for now. AromaTech Vancouver-based scent company AromaTech has just launched a Cities Collection, a selection of diffuser blend aroma oils made with raw and natural ingredients, to evoke the energy associated with various cities around the world. The Vancouver aroma, for example, contains notes of juniper, pine, cedar, ocean water and sea salt in a nod to the coastal city’s lush forests; New York has notes of coffee, chocolate, Bailey’s, almond and sandalwood to reflect the city’s bustling coffee shops; while Tokyo has notes of yuzu, wasabi, cherry blossom, hinoki wood and green tea representing both the vibrancy of the city and the tranquility of its gardens. image courtesy AromaTech Homesick Homesick’s travel-inspired candles and
House Dresses Have a Whole New Meaning in 2020, and I Welcome Them With Open Arms
May 12, 2020 at 09:35PM The term “house dress” originated in the late 19th century and gained popularity in the early 20th century, and described a frock designated for doing chores around the house or running errands. It was by no means presentable enough to travel in or wear to a function; but in the 1950s, these became progressively more stylish. House dresses were part of the daily uniform, many coming as part of a set with matching aprons or gloves, in floral and gingham prints, or with pockets. But in 2020, all the house dress really means to me is something functional, yet romantic that is also comfortable (think: poplin or linen fabric in loose silhouettes or a breezy shirtdress). These dresses also have details like pouf sleeves, embroidery, or frilled skirts that make them stylish enough on their own without even a pair of shoes. I don’t want to say they were made for your next stay-at-home photo shoot, but I mean, weren’t they? At its core, the house dress is just the laid-back, lovable look you reach for when you’re tired of your sweats and you want to dress up a little bit. The style is even being referred to as the “house dress” by some of our favorite brands and leaders in fashion, and at least one pops up on my Instagram feed every day – so that’s how you know it’s a trend. I’ve been sifting through my wardrobe in search of my own house
Hailey Bieber Shows Off Her Steamy Red Bikini (and Personal Sauna) – Can We Have Her Life?
May 12, 2020 at 08:56PM Wowee! Hailey Bieber’s latest Instagram has us breaking a sweat. The supermodel, who is currently quarantining with her husband Justin Bieber at their house in Toronto, Canada, posted a picture of herself in a red hot bikini by Juillet. It looks like when she’s not starring in Justin’s new music videos, Hailey is getting some R&R in their sauna, which is located on their property. Hailey posed in an itsy-bitsy red bikini with her hands covering her face and captioned the photo, “quarantine sweat.” Well, that’s definitely one way to steam up our phone screens. In the picture, Hailey posed in the sauna wearing a bright red two-piece by Juillet, which is sadly sold out in that specific color. Her bikini featured a strapless bandeau top and a pair of matching high-leg string bottoms. While most of us can’t go to the beach or on a tropical vacation at the moment, her bikini did inspire us to rock a swimsuit indoors, even if it’s just to get some sun from the comfort of our own homes. Keep reading to get a closer look at Hailey’s sultry bikini. Then shop her exact swimsuit in different colors as well as similar styles, if you’re in the market for some new swimwear.
