From Ganni to Rixo, Here’s What Your Favourite Designers Are Wearing at Home

May 09, 2020 at 06:01AM Over the last few months, many of our lives have changed immeasurably. From a complete adjustment in work routines to drastically altered social lives, relatively nothing is the same as it was back in February. While we all are processing these changes differently, adjusting to a life in which many choices are beyond our control, one factor that has remained within our control is the way we choose to get dressed in the morning.  Whether you have opted to completely embrace loungewear or prefer a slightly more polished aesthetic, there is no denying that what you wear each day can have an impact on your overall outlook and even mood or productivity. With this in mind, I decided to turn to the experts and asked a few of my favourite designers exactly what they have been wearing to work from home. And with answers from the women behind some of the fashion industry’s buzziest brands—including Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey of Rixo, Ditte Reffstrup of Ganni, Haeni Kim of Kitri and Rejina Pyo—you’re definitely going to want to read on. Whether based in London or across various parts of the globe, a common thread amongst all the designers is that they are continuing to dress up despite remaining at home. From flowing midi dresses to loose-fitting jeans, comfort is, of course, a priority, though their style and personal aesthetics have not wavered.  If you’ve ever wondered what your favourite designers wear when they’re off duty, this one is certainly for you.

28 Outfits That Make Basics Look Interesting

May 09, 2020 at 06:00AM Minimalism is really having its moment this season. Thanks to The Row and Bottega Veneta, the pared-back approach to dressing has really taken hold in 2020. However, and perhaps this is more of a personal problem, is that I always struggle to keep this aesthetic looking interesting. Sure, I can dabble with a white-shirt–and–black-trousers combo, but I can end up looking a bit like a waitress. The thing is, I’m not a die-hard minimalist, so I haven’t honed the skills needed to really understand what it takes to make basics look super cool. And right now, with plenty of us working from home, basics are a must. So how do those who favour the above style keep it looking interesting when working from home? I spoke to four of my favourite minimalist Instagrammers and they all told me their secrets. Keep scrolling for 28 outfits that make basics look interesting, plus some great tips that will make you want to go minimalist full-time.  “Right now, I can’t do without my cashmere loungewear. I have a few sets and absolutely love them. But to feel more put together on a working day, I’d say putting on makeup, a bit of jewellery (I don’t wear much) and a spritz of perfume help me feel ready. As for helping to draw a line between my working looks and downtime, I try and keep my WFH outfits to ones which don’t make me want to curl up on the sofa! So

I Own a Lot of Striped T-Shirts—Here’s Where I Find the Best

May 09, 2020 at 06:00AM Striped T-shirts and I go way back. Ever since I found the perfect one at H&M in my first year of university, I haven’t looked back. It was white with black stripes and made me feel very sophisticated. There have been others, of course. An American Apparel red-and-white one deserves a notable mention—it was formfitting and looked great with high-waisted jeans. But my ultimate striped T-shirt? One I bought from Topshop eight years ago and still wear once every week. It hasn’t faded much, is just the right length on my arms and is loose but still tight enough to tuck into my favourite pair of white jeans. I love striped T-shirts. Yes, it’s because they’re a bit French-looking, but it’s also because they’re just a little more interesting than a plain white T-shirt. They draw the eye in more, and they always look great with red lipstick, too. (Don’t ask me why. I have no science to back this up, people.) You could say, then, that I’m a striped-T-shirt connoisseur. For that reason, I’ve dedicated a whole shopping edit to them. While there are the classics—red, blue and black striped versions—there are also other options including bold greens and yellows, which are definitely worth a look if you’re looking for something brighter. Keep scrolling for the edit. Next up, the biggest spring/summer 2020 fashion trends you need to know.  Author Elinor Block | Whowhatwear Selected by CWC

Up Close with Technicolour Drag Queen Mango Sassi

May 09, 2020 at 12:38AM Jason Hatton, a prop stylist and visual merchandiser by day who has worked for high-end companies like Chanel, has the incredible ability to turn himself into Mango Sassi, a spirited drag queen with an affinity for vivid hues. Read on for Mango’s story. Photo courtesy of Mango Sassi. On Mango’s drag journey: “Last Halloween was my 10-year anniversary of doing drag, but I’ve only really been focusing on it for the last three to four years. I have an annual party that I’ve been doing for the last seven years, and that was usually the time I would get in drag along with all my friends. It has since developed from there. One of my favourite things I’ve done while in drag is take the subway for a couple of daytime gigs! The first time I did it, I was quite afraid, but after I saw the reaction of people, it was such a lovely experience: You get smiles,  joy from people, and people wondering what the hell is going on! You usually get really positive responses.” On Mango’s first drag experience: “Oh boy, it’s kind of a blur! It was 10 years ago on Halloween. I love disco, so I created this disco look with the very little knowledge I had about drag. It was a bit of a hot mess. But, saying that, I was living my best life! I mean, when you’re in drag it doesn’t really matter how perfected or how
