The Topshop Items That Are in My Saved Items Folder This Summer

June 10, 2020 at 06:26AM For fashion lovers, apps have revolutionised the way we interact with our favourite brands. Websites that previously weren’t smartphone-friendly are now packaged into neat programs, allowing us to browse categories with ease and order at a touch of a button. My favourite function? The Saved Items folder. Acting as your very own virtual clothes rail, this simple solution allows me to bookmark the pieces that have caught my eye. It’s also the perfect way to step back and mull on a potential purchase rather than ending up in a panic-buy situation. There’s nothing more satisfying than coming back to my wish list after a few days and being able to cherry-pick the pieces that still set my heart racing and deleting those that don’t. I’d pay a lot of money to get a glimpse into the wish lists of my favourite fashion icons. But as I currently don’t have a direct line to Alexa Chung, we’ll just have to do with yours truly. This week, I’m revealing the items currently residing in my Topshop wish list. Out of all my fashion apps, Topshop has one of the best save functions, and I add to it on a daily basis. Want to see what’s in my Saved Items folder this week? Scroll down to see and shop my picks. Trust Monikh: The 3 Summer Pieces She Has Her Eye on This Week

June 10, 2020 at 06:18AM There are hundreds of thousands of influencers in the social ether, but only a handful who we religiously stalk in order to virtually steal the clothes off their backs. Our primary target is Monikh—the London-based styling and shopping guru who seeks out the very coolest buys from every corner of the retail world. From her inspiring tips on re-wearing her well-chosen investment items to hunting down the coolest high-street pieces, her Instagram feed @monikh and website are a veritable hotbed of things you’re going to want to purchase immediately (and will never regret). Each week, Monikh will share her new picks exclusively for you… In summer, I love wearing earthy tones, linens, hole-knitted dresses and tangerine shades—pieces that are classic but not boring. This week, I’m sharing with you three classic but impactful high-summer pieces that you will feel comfortable wearing at home or for walks or picnics in the park. So what are you waiting for? Keep scrolling for my three summer buys. Fe Noel is one of my favourite Black-owned fashion brands. So chic, so timeless, and so handy. This shirt/belt/purse trio is enough to keep my keys and bank card safe while staying effortlessly cool.  In need of a comfy dress to lounge in while working from home? Cue this H&M cosy knitted dress. Another Black-owned business I’m championing this week, Cold Laundry is full of unisex staples to wear every season.  I love a two-piece—it’s my absolute weakness. I just can’t say no! This knitted duo

These Expensive-Looking High-Street Items Are All Under £30

June 10, 2020 at 06:16AM Have you ever experienced the sheer joy of having a fashionable friend ask you where your latest item is from, only to be able to proudly tell them it was a bargain of a purchase? Let me tell you it is a thrill. There’s just something so satisfying about finding a piece in a vintage store or on the high street that looks much more expensive than its price tag would suggest. And it’s even more satisfying when you can tell people just how affordable the item actually was.  With this in mind, I set out to find a few expensive-looking high-street items under £30 that could act as the subject of my next humble brag, and right now there are certainly some winners around. H&M in particular currently has a very elevated offering, featuring a billowy wrap top and a few puff-sleeve minidresses that could pass as designer. Mango has some very affordable linen pieces, while Zara, as usual, has the affordable trend-led category covered.  When it comes to obtaining an expensive-looking high-street item, my tip would be to go for a timeless style. More often than not, it’s a ribbed-knit tank or standard LBD that will always look elevated and expensive despite the price tag. Not to mention these are the types of items that will stay in your closet for years to come, really ensuring you’re getting the most value for money. Keep scrolling for 20 expensive-looking high-street items that are all under £30.  Style Notes: This

We Found All the Best Summer Dresses From & Other Stories, COS, H&M and More

June 10, 2020 at 06:06AM Over the last month, I have completely revised my at-home outfit strategy. While originally starting my work-from-home period in a mixture of joggers, leggings and various athletic-wear pieces, I have now changed trajectory, deciding daily to opt for a combination of comfy midi dresses and flowing slip skirts. At a time when we are indoors, this change of pace has not only allowed me to look more put-together but also impacted the way I go about my day feeling drastically more polished. Whether it be a floral trapeze dress or vibrantly coloured midi, the choice to literally dress up has helped not only my productivity but also my mood.  Thankfully, there are plenty of dresses available on the high street right now that can mirror this mood-boosting effect, as new summer collections feature an array of bright shades and playful patterns in comfortable and flattering silhouettes. From midi-dresses to trapeze styles, floral to puff sleeve, keep scrolling for our favourite high-street summer dresses.  Next up, the biggest S/S 20 fashion trends you need to know.  Author Zoe Anastasiou | Whowhatwear Selected by CWC

I Never Thought to Shop at This Overlooked High-Street Store—Until Now

June 10, 2020 at 06:00AM If you are well versed in the art of high-street shopping, you’ll know the immense satisfaction that comes from discovering a new brand to add to your favourites list. While I have known of Monki for years, for some reason, I had it filed under the Gen Z tab of my mental fashion folder, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it was never at the top of my priority list when a new season appeared on the horizon. However, this season, I’ve spotted so many winning pieces offered up by this high-street brand, and these are no one-hit wonders. Acting like Arket and COS’s cool younger sister, Monki has really tapped into the niche of versatile wardrobe staples with a fashion twist. Obviously, the age demographic means you get the odd crop top and micro shorts, but honestly, as I was scrolling through its summer drop, I found myself clicking on every other item. If your style has minimalist undertones with a splash of print and colour, you’re going to love this brand. We’re talking clean-lined tailoring, graphic print tees, utility separates and throw-on dresses. I particularly love Monki’s gingham offering this season, and I would happily wear its wide-leg trousers with a white tee and the slip-on daisy mules all month long. Pure bliss. Every Time I Wear This One Necklace, I Get Dozens of Messages on Instagram

June 10, 2020 at 06:00AM Ever have an item of clothing that people can’t stop asking you where it’s from? That piece for me right now is a vintage gold chain I bought from eBay for a tenner. Every time I wear it, I get dozens of messages on Instagram about it (because the only place you’ll really see an outfit right now is on Instagram). For a fashion editor, I have a moderate following on the platform; it’s nearing the 2K mark, but it’s not huge, especially in comparison to a lot of other peers and colleagues. This isn’t to make you feel pity for my lack of social media fans but rather to highlight that my reach isn’t massive, yet followers message me about this necklace more than anything else.  For a bit of background on this piece of jewellery, I’d been hunting for a gold chain for a while. I didn’t want to spend a lot, and I was keen to find one that was also vintage to ensure it was more sustainable. Then, after months of searching, I found the perfect one on eBay, and it was only £10. It’s a shorter chain, so it rests high on my chest but not so high that it would be considered a choker. (Although, I do love those versions, too.) But perhaps the best thing about this other than it ticks my boxes of affordable and sustainable is that it goes with literally everything in my wardrobe. Whether it’s a white shirt, a leopard-print

25 Chic Stationery Pieces I’m Sure Will Increase My Productivity

June 10, 2020 at 06:00AM A snack. A cup of tea. Another glass of water. A quick check of Instagram. A WhatsApp to your friends of that funny video you saw of some woman making tea badly. Let’s be honest. These are just a few things that could be distracting when working from home. It is tough to remain productive, especially as we’re now many days into our routine of mostly staying in the house. So it’s time to pull out the big guns. And that means buying new stationery. I’m a firm believer in making sure you have your surroundings in check before you start working (I have to work with a tidy desk), and a great pen and a nice notepad are just part of that. Of course, stationery is so much more. There are the sticky notes, pencil cases, stamps, file holders, pencil pots, etc. I could go on. Instead, though, you can keep scrolling and see my edit of the chicest pieces of stationery around right now.
