June 06, 2020 at 06:25AM Pictured above: H&M A-Line Dress ($30) As you know, H&M is a great place to find trends that you don’t want to spend a lot of money on. As you also know, it’s also a great place to shop for basics that look more expensive than they actually are. And while a diverse wardrobe is wonderful, if you want the ease of shopping for an entire outfit (or seasonal wardrobe even) all at one place, you could certainly get away with it at H&M. So where to even start? I find it easiest to build an outfit around a particular trend, adding on whatever basics best complement it. Easy to do at H&M. And currently, it has tons and tons of on-trend pieces for summer, from tiered dresses to sweatshorts to tangerine orange. Keep scrolling to shop the trends and the H&M basics that best suit them. This pretty printed top works so well with high-waisted shorts and flats. A babydoll dress makes a statement on its own, so keep the rest of your look minimal. These bold trousers work well with any neutral colour. Sweatshorts are a basic and a trend. I love dressing them up with an oversize button-down. This unbelievably affordable midi dress is an outfit itself. This sporty cropped top works beautifully with tailored pieces that dress it up a bit. Fuchsia pleated suit shorts are as trendy as shorts get at the moment. I’d pair mine with a ribbed tank this summer.

I Haven’t Shopped All Year, But H&M’s Summer Collection Just Changed My Mind
June 06, 2020 at 06:00AM Last September, post–fashion week, we knew what we were going to see everywhere come summer 2020. The biggest trends included leather (for summer? Actually groundbreaking), pretty white dresses and Bermuda-style shorts. While these trends and many others were pretty much guaranteed at the beginning of the year, January now feels very much like a lifetime ago. Since then, countries across the world have been locked down with few people spending time outside their homes. This has, undoubtedly, led to a whole host of other trends emerging for summer 2020 that we couldn’t have predicted even six weeks ago. With plenty of people now working from home, basic white vest tops and joggers have shot to the top of our shopping lists. But it’s also the cancelled weddings and holidays that have indicated a change in how we’ve been dressing or planned to dress. Next up, the biggest spring/summer 2020 fashion trends you need to know. 14 Affordable Items That Will Help Elevate Your Favourite Basics
June 06, 2020 at 06:00AM Here at Who What Wear, we are firm believers that good style shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. If we’re honest, some of the most fashion-savvy people we’ve encountered in our lives have been the most cost-conscious, as having to be more careful with your budget can often result in greater creativity and originality. Luckily, in the UK, we have a wide range of online high-street offerings available to us, and brands are getting smarter about designing pieces that aren’t going to fall out of favour the following season. The likes of Arket and & Other Stories, in particular, have become known for their quality, expensive-looking designs that are indiscernible from their designer counterparts. Add to this the fact that the minimalist aesthetic has ruled over the past 12 months, meaning it’s even easier to hunt down those affordable yet premium-looking gems. As someone who has spent many years following high-street brands—both in my spare time and as part of my job—I have a good sense of what to look out for when it comes to finding the good stuff for less. To help you on your way, I’ve rounded up 12 chic basics items that no one will ever guess were from the Great British high street. From chunky sandals to tailored shorts, scroll down to shop my edit. These Summer-Ready Printed Dresses Are Pure Joy
June 06, 2020 at 06:00AM Despite not being much of a dress person, I find that every time I put on a printed frock, there’s a sort of strange fashion alchemy that occurs. No longer am I just a slipper-clad working-from-homer stuck in a never-ending cycle of moving from desk to fridge to sofa. Rather, I am the lady of the manor, an 18th-century duchess who spends her mornings reading quietly by the window and afternoons swishing ’round the house calling for more Earl Grey tea please, butler (aka husband). Social isolation has done funny things to all of us, okay? I honestly believe there is something about a dramatic dress that can distract from the day-to-day boredom and, even if it’s just in a small way, help us to feel a little bit special—whether it’s for Skyping family or making a cup of tea. Well, with everything from florals and checks to polka dots and animal print being embraced this season, there are plenty of options available right now, each one with the potential to imbue us with a different mood. Who will you be today? The ‘60s It girl in Rixo’s sunset shades or a Jane Austen heroine clad in puff-sleeve florals? An ’80s matriarch with a penchant for animal print or a beach-dwelling Cali girl in floaty checks? The dress world is your oyster. So really, all I’m trying to say is whether you rediscover a love for those old favourites buried deep in your coset or discover a new style (there are plenty to feast on below), now is the time to
29 Random Archive Shots Inspiring My Wardrobe This Summer
June 06, 2020 at 06:00AM A few weeks back, I wrote an article about the powerful role nostalgia is playing in the fashion industry, both over the course of the last year and up to the present day, as creatives struggle to create new content due to social distancing. I’ve watched as magazines have been forced to delve into the archives yet come out with the most stunning finds, which more than deserves a second outing. Plus, as we seek to make our shopping habits more sustainable, you could argue than the same rule could apply to imagery. Why create so much newness when we have a rich and inspiring back catalogue at our disposal? Of course, there’ll always be a need for innovation and fresh ideas in fashion, but the irony is that I personally find there to be more examples of original and unique style in the archive than there sometimes is in the world of modern media. Also, if nothing else, there’s something so escapist about plunging into the past and immersing yourself in the trends of decades gone by. So if you’re tired of scrolling through Instagram, or generally feeling a bit lacklustre in the wardrobe department, I’ve given you a helping hand and found 29 throwback shots that might give you some ideas for your summer capsule. From Bridget Bardot’s Gallic-girl allure and Gwynnie’s languarous ’90s silhouettes to Iman’s ’80s power dressing and Halle Berry’s off-duty appeal, consider this photo archive your go-to. Style Notes: From the high-waisted trousers to the gingham waistcoat, there’s nothing I don’t love about this outfit. Style Notes: Naomi brought out
Under-£100 Homeware Buys From H&M, Zara and More
June 06, 2020 at 06:00AM One of the things that I kept finding myself doing while in lockdown over the past few months is falling into interior decorating holes. I’ve spent hours finding new homeware brands and cool interior design Instagram accounts for inspiration. I’ve also been getting lost on Pinterest. This is partly down to nosiness and a desire to see how other people are using their spaces, but also because I have an impulse to show more love to my home while spending so much time indoors. I’ve cleaned more than ever before and spent a whole weekend lovingly painting one door. Like many of us, I’m being careful with my spending, so the last thing I’d want to do in this period is make people feel like they need to spend more or feel pressured to make home improvements. As someone who has recently moved into a new house, I know just how expensive interiors can be, and so I want to share some of the things I’ve found along the way. Ever since I got my moving date back in January, I’ve been on the lookout for home accessories with some personality that are under £100. My favourite places to shop have been H&M Home, John Lewis, Arket and Zara Home, as they are sites I regularly browse for ideas and escapism. Items that have stood out to me recently are Arket’s zebra blanket, H&M’s oversized ceramic vases, and Cox and Cox’s padded floor cushions. Monikh’s
51 New Summer Zara Items Destined to Sell Out
June 06, 2020 at 05:00AM Confession: When assigned this story, I hadn’t been on Zara.com in a couple of months. What can I say? I’d been enjoying some alternative affordable brands instead. But now, I can confidently say Zara and I are thoroughly reacquainted, and the product offering is looking prime for summer. I looked through every single item on the site and have to admit I now have quite a few pieces in my personal cart. Because if I know anything about Zara, it’s that those cult-favorite items go fast. From years of coverage of the brand on Who What Wear, our editors have cultivated a sharpened sense of what has the potential to sell out quickly. I pulled these products into one epic roundup of summer wardrobe goodness, so we can get our shopping kicks while the cream of the crop is still in stock. Scroll down to take a look. Buttery yellow is every fashion girl’s favorite colour right now. I especially love the little subtle edging detail under the bust. Perfect for my new no-bra lifestyle. This looks like a vintage find. Not sorry about the amount of butter yellow in this story. My allegiance to butter yellow was briefly tempted by this gorgeous sienna. Say it with me: Matching sets rule. Hello, chicness! A fresh take on a standard button-down shirt. All about a set right now. Let those legs out! So ’80s in the best way. Clip clop, ladies and gents. Future me is going to be pleased that current me bought this

Meet Summer Ruddock-Ellis, the Toronto-Based Creative Who Wants You to Embrace Second-Hand Shopping
June 05, 2020 at 10:24PM “I’m a creative problem solver,” says Summer Ruddock-Ellis, the Toronto-based founder of second-hand retail and editorial platform Pseudonym and partner in 4ye, the entertainment-meets-fashion hub with a robust social following. Ruddock-Ellis, who grew up in Brampton, says her interest in fashion and in thrifting began when she was young. Her first retail job was at a store in the local mall, and that’s where she says she was first exposed “to the retail landscape and how to run a business. Getting product in and actually selling it; that was really exciting to me.” View this post on Instagram Another striking photo of Angaer ? photographed by @othellogrey, styled in pieces from our store by @summer_ruddock_ellis A post shared by PSEUDONYM (@bypseudonym) on Apr 28, 2020 at 1:54pm PDT //www.instagram.com/embed.js She enrolled at Carlton to do an undergrad in Economics, and while there, the burgeoning entrepreneur got an idea. “I starting thrifting a lot when I was up there, and started selling clothing out of my dorm,” says Ruddock-Ellis. “That’s originally how I started Pseudonym; it was a thing I did part-time I did while at school just to make a bit of extra money.” In combination with managing her curated offering of contemporary previously-owned finds, Ruddock-Ellis honed her retail acumen working for businesses like Cos, where she was part of the development of the company’s Canadian e-commerce venture as well as acting as a merchandiser for the brand. “It gave me an idea of scale,
