How 13-Year-Old Kheris Rogers Turned Being Bullied Into a Celeb-Loved Fashion Line

June 23, 2020 at 05:20PM At just 13, Kheris Rogers is already enjoying a thriving career. She’s an actor, influencer, business owner, and freshly signed artist to Columbia Records new girl group, Run The World. Spend a few minutes scrolling through Kheris’s feed and you will quickly see her self-assurance, individuality, and personality shining through. However, this is something that she has grown into throughout childhood. A few years ago, after being bullied at school for her complexion, Kheris’s family encouraged her to begin daily affirmations to build up her confidence. She found the practice incredibly effective and rewarding. There was something empowering about being able to transform her negative experience into something positive and self-affirming. She wanted to share her growing sense of strength with the world, and in doing so, help others who might be dealing with similar situations. At the age of 10, with the help of her big sister, Kheris founded “Flexin’ In My Complextion” to help other kids feel beautiful and love themselves. In just three years, her business has already won high-profile fans like Alicia Keys, Lupita Nyong’o, Drake, and Lena Waithe. We caught up with Kheris to see what this collection has meant to her, who she would love to collaborate with, and what her message is for kids who are enduring bullying. The power couple posed for a sweet picture with four of their children – North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. For Father’s Day, the Kardashian-West fam dressed up in custom pieces by London-based Nigerian designer Mowalola Ogunlesi. While KimYe wore matching leather pieces from Ogunlesi’s namesake brand Mowalola, North got in on the fun with her own custom piece from the designer, too. Kim opted for a sexy brown leather dress that had side cutouts and threw on a bright green coat on top. For her accessories, she wore tiny sunglasses and gold earrings. Kanye, on the other hand, opted for a shiny leather jacket, which was cropped, with matching leather pants and a yellow shirt underneath. Like Kim, he also wore a pair of tiny sunglasses. As for their kids, North stole the show in her custom cow-print look from the designer’s Spring 2020 collection and looked as cute as can be. Exclusive: Up Close With L’Oréal Paris’s New Muse Katherine Langford

June 23, 2020 at 04:26PM Katherine Langford has a brand new gig, and while it may not be able to snag her another Golden Globes Award nomination, it does add her name to an impressive roster of lauded global ambassadors such as Viola Davis, Céline Dion, Eva Longoria and Helen Mirren. Today, beauty behemoth L’Oréal Paris has named the 24-year-old actress as the brand’s newest face. The Perth, Australia-born breakout star is famously known for playing Hannah Baker in the 2017 Netflix hit series 13 Reasons Why, as well as starring in the 2018 coming-of-age teen drama Love, Simon. What’s more, Langford plays the lead role in the upcoming Netflix series Cursed (dropping in July), a TV adaptation of the illustrated novel by legendary comic book artist Frank Miller and writer Tom Wheeler. In celebration of her new partnership with L’Oréal Paris, we spoke to Langford ahead of the global announcement about beauty and her budding career. On her everyday beauty look: “When I’m working, I wear makeup for 16 hours a day, and I do full glam for press events. So, when I’m not working, my everyday is a ‘no-makeup’ look, and I really like to take care of my skin. I always wear a good sunscreen and moisturizer. When I go out, I’ll definitely wear a brow and maybe some mascara.” On her red carpet glam squad: “I feel very lucky to be able to work with some of the best people out there. My teams is amazing,

My Story: Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs on Queer Indigenous Representation in the Entertainment Industry

June 23, 2020 at 04:17PM Born and raised in the Kanien’kehá:ka Mohawk Territory in Quebec, actress Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs has made a name for herself playing roles as wide-ranging as a teenager dealing with the repercussions of the residential school system in Rhymes For Young Ghouls and “a badass werewolf” on the Netflix show The Order. Currently based in Toronto, the 26-year-old actress has also written and directed some of her own projects, which reflect her experience and perspective as a queer Indigenous woman. Now, during National Indigenous History Month, she has partnered up with Made Nous (a Canadian entertainment industry-wide initiative) to spotlight Indigenous artists—actors, writers, filmmakers and others. Here, she shares, in her own words, how she got her start, the kinds of projects she’s drawn to, and why it’s important for there to be more Indigenous representation in front of and behind the camera. On growing up: I always wanted to act, since before I even knew that it was a career. I would always make home videos, and force my sister to direct them and act in them with me. I also [participated] in the Turtle Island Theatre Company, which is a small community theatre on my reserve. It was through that that my mom saw how much I loved performing. She submitted me, without my knowledge, to an agency in Quebec. They accepted and then she sat me down and asked if it was something that I wanted to do and if it was, that

Raven-Symoné Got Married in a Utility Jumpsuit, So Wedding Dresses Are Officially Outdated

June 23, 2020 at 04:12PM Raven-Symoné married Miranda Maday on June 18, 2020 in an intimate backyard celebration in front of family and friends. I am sure their guests were just as blown away by the brides’ wedding outfit choice as I was: coordinating utility jumpsuits. Raven styled hers – which came with zippered pockets up and down the legs – with a pair of black Gucci ankle boots studded with sparkling crystals. She also wore statement drop rhinestone earrings that say “LOVED,” because who needs pearls? Miranda, on the other hand, worked an ivory Gucci jumpsuit with the brand’s signature stripes, pumps, and a white veil, and Raven’s ombré hairstyle added all the color the two needed to balance out the neutrals and really pack a punch. Even though Raven and Miranda’s looks definitely cost a pretty penny, we shopped out their bridal essentials after the jump. If nothing else, these clever looks are just making me reconsider a wedding dress altogether. Why not tie the knot in something comfortable and “wear everyday,” like the outfit your SO is used to seeing you in? I, for one, love how natural Raven and Miranda appear in all their pictures – and there are certainly few chances of wardrobe mishaps in structured pants like these.
