Makeup Artists Say These 6 Moisturisers Will Age You in Reverse
July 04, 2020 at 05:30PM “Benjamin Buttoning.” Ageing backwards. Stopping time. If there’s one effect or buzzword that elicits the same visceral reaction from beauty editors, skincare experts and customers alike, it’s anything with the term anti-ageing in it. The truth of the matter is this: There’s no miracle cream, gel, serum or treatment that has the power to actually reverse or halt the signs of ageing on the skin. (Sorry, it just doesn’t exist.) That said, there are a small number of products that come pretty close, and we’re about to share an edit of them below. Per a roster of celebrity makeup artists—Emily Cheng, Naoko Scintu and Emma White Turle—we’re uncovering a curated selection of the best anti-ageing moisturisers. The keyword here being curated because according to them, not every cream or moisturiser on the market works the same. Luckily, they find that the below six do wield high-performing effects that plump and lift the skin and combat fine lines and wrinkles. So without further ado, keep scrolling to discover what makes each one so beloved and a few of the other products they recommend building out your routine with as well. Turle introduced this cream to me by saying that it’s considered a scientific masterpiece and that she’s inclined to agree. I was immediately intrigued. “This lifts the skin from the first use,” she explained. “And over a few weeks of use, lines are diminished and skin is brighter. It’s very rich but very light and works beautifully under makeup. The driest and most tired of

I Try Tonnes of Skincare Every Year, But This Is My Desert-Island Product
July 04, 2020 at 12:17PM As a beauty editor, I am often asked what my favourite beauty product is. And quite frankly, that’s like asking a mother to choose her favourite child. The truth is there is simply too much to choose from. For instance, I categorically could not settle on one favourite makeup product. However, if you were to ask me my favourite foundation (Nars Radiant Longwear, £32) or perhaps my favourite mascara (L’Oréal Paris Paradise, £12), I could definitely pull out one name. When it comes to skincare, though, I have always had one clear winner. You see, although it is by no means easy to whittle down my beloved skincare collection to a clear favourite, there is one product that I think everyone could benefit from owning, whatever their skin type. And no, I’m not being paid to say this. When I was first told about the wonders of Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (£52), I vividly remember walking into my local John Lewis and being stunned at the price. There’s no doubt that Advanced Night Repair was the most expensive skincare product I had ever bought, and I couldn’t fathom that one single product could be worth that money. Six years on and now I actually have backups of the stuff in my cupboard. You see, Advanced Night Repair is one of those wonderfully classic beauty products that has become so iconic over time that actually the extent of its wonderfulness has gotten a bit lost. So let me
I Am a Dress Obsessive, and These Are My Favourites for Summer
July 04, 2020 at 11:30AM My wardrobe is approximately 50% colourful printed dresses, and as an editor at Who What Wear, I’m lucky enough to spend a lot of my time indulging this obsession. Out of work, I help my friends to find wedding guest dresses and little-known dress brands and am regularly sending links on WhatsApp as an unofficial personal shopper. As I sit writing this story, I am in a pair of jogging bottoms I have worn for three days and so am well aware of how few of us will be wearing dresses right now. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t looking at them. Within my role as editor, I look at the stories people are reading every day, and the topic that is still the most popular right now is summer dresses. Weddings are a sensitive topic for many right now, as most ceremonies have been pushed back to next year and plans remain uncertain. However, with my 2021 wedding diary filling up rapidly (I currently have eight for next year), I’m using this time to do my research and find dresses I really love. So the edit below includes casual everyday midis you can wear at home and more formal looks that I have my eye on for 2021 and beyond. Keep scrolling to shop my edit of all the summer dresses I love this year. (A warning: It’s a long list and will require a lot of scrolling.) Next up, see our guide to
