September 02, 2020 at 06:29AM At the beginning of the year, we already knew which designer bags were going to dominate in 2020. How did we predict correctly? Well, it’s a lot more than just guesswork. We spend time speaking to brands and buyers and looking at what’s trending in the fashion industry to see which bags are going to come out on top during the year. Of course, cult buys and new brands can emerge at any moment, surprising even the most seasoned of fashion buyers and editors, but there are certain new styles that I guarantee we’ll be talking about as hero buys this December. That said, we didn’t know the pandemic was coming and the financial implications of that on the fashion industry and personal budgets. However, despite this, global fashion search platform Lyst revealed just yesterday in its roundup of the most popular brands of the year so far that the likes of Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Prada and more appear in the top 10. So which totes have made an impact on the year so far? There’s Chanel’s 19 that just might become as iconic as the legendary 2.55 bag, and Bottega Veneta is set to have a year just as golden as the last. Every buyer I spoke to told me they just can’t order enough Bottega bags. There’s also Katie Holmes’s favourite label Khaite, which has released a practical tote that makes teeny-tiny mini bags look sillier than ever. A mood we are seeing across

Sorry, Summer—We’re a Bit Distracted by These 5 Autumn Colour Trends
September 02, 2020 at 06:13AM It might only be the first week of September and, yes, summer wares may still line the shelves of our favourite high street stores, but we can’t help but notice that the new-in sections are slowly but surely being infiltrated by autumn pieces—from trans-seasonal jackets to sturdy boots—and we’re not going to lie, we’re pretty excited about it. There are a few colours that inevitably dominate every single autumn, however, there are some new additions that are set to make a splash this September. While last year everyone lost it over browns and khakis, this year it’s more about colour binaries: think lime green rubbing shoulders with burnt orange, and pale beige put into relief by fashion editor black (yes we know it’s not technically a colour but… fashion). Of course, we don’t like to be too prescriptive about these things, but if you think about it, giving a nod to a new season hue is surely one of the easiest ways to freshen up your wardrobe. After all, you probably already own at least one piece in one of the below shades, so it’s merely a case of experimenting with new combinations—for example, why not try a lime green knit with a pleated beige skirt? Or pack a punch with a head-to-toe black ensamble? So, if you’re desperate for a little autumnal inspo, keep scrolling to see the five colours that we are most excited to wear for the new season and 16 pieces that you can wear already. Style Notes: Offering a stylish alternative to last year’s muted browns and beiges, pale beige is
I’m a Beauty Editor, and These Are My Top Product Picks From My Stash
September 02, 2020 at 06:09AM Every beauty editor has a stash. The varying factors are the level of organisation, location and size of said stash. But we all have one. It’s filled with the almost daily drops of samples that we receive to write about and review, the beauty products that we actually buy and the ones that our well-meaning aunts still insist on getting us for Christmas. We’re all very aware of the privileged position we’re in and have many strategies in place to make sure products are never wasted. One being a ban on any newbies until I’ve made my way through most of what I have. So as lockdown started and I wasn’t near any of my friend’s or family member’s faces to slather them in moisturisers, I hit pause on writing and sampling and decided to shop my own stash. I scrolled past all of my fellow beauty writers trying out the latest launches, while I dived into the boxes under my bed. Four months in and I’ve not bought anything nor had any cravings, thanks to these products that I’ve fallen in love with all over again. Keep scrolling for my top picks. I’ve been using this everyday and I attribute much of my new found radiance to this. I find exfoliants rather boring, but it’s an essential part of my routine. This one really works to clear out anything that’s secretly stuck in my pores and I find it gentle enough for daily use. My hair can’t get enough of
4 Autumn Shoe Styles the Fashion Set Is Already Embracing
September 02, 2020 at 06:03AM The way we view footwear has had a complete overhaul throughout this year. After spending months house-bound wearing a rotation of either slippers or sneakers, the idea of dressing up and experimenting with new shoes feels more appealing than ever. While I once dreaded having to wear heels or agonised over which boots deserved my attention, after spending the better part of the last 6 months indoors, the concept of choosing a shoe seems like an exhilarating new adventure. Thankfully, with autumn on its way, which means there are a few new trends to focus on. From chain embellishments to Mary-Jane silhouettes, contrast soles to very high, knee highs, autumn footwear trends range from revamped classics to innovative new styles. And with the A/W 20 runways as inspiration, these trends have been reimagined across high-street and designer brands. So who is leading the way for footwear in 2020? Unsurprisingly, Bottega Veneta is on board with several of autumn’s most trending styles, including chain details and contrast soles. Victoria Beckham, Proenza Schouler and more are advocates of the over-the-knee boots, while modern Mary Janes were seen on the runway of Prada, Miu Miu and more. Keep scrolling to see and shop four footwear trends the fashion set is already loving to autumn. Next up, the biggest S/S 20 fashion trends you need to know. Everyone’s Talking About House Dresses – We Found Our Favorite For Just $40
September 02, 2020 at 12:46AM You can’t scroll very far on Instagram without seeing someone rocking the popular house-dress trend. These easy dresses aren’t just a cool alternative to your stay-at-home loungewear, they’re also rooted in a rich history. The term “house dress” is from the late 19th century and was essentially used to describe a garment designated for doing house chores. Now, however, these romantic pieces have taken on a modern life of their own. They’re a welcome escape from our everyday loungewear. After doing a ton of research online for affordable dresses to wear around the house, we found styling inspiration (we’ll explain why we love them) and our new favorite all-around comfortable – and wallet-friendly – version: Old Navy’s Floral-Print V-Neck Fit & Flare Midi Dress ($40). Meghan Markle’s Go-To Gardening Outfit Is a Chambray Shirt and Jeans, and I Detect No Flaws
September 01, 2020 at 11:00PM Let the record show: Meghan Markle is a fan of denim on denim, and now, so am I. The Duchess of Sussex joined her husband, Prince Harry, at the Assistance League of LA’s Preschool Learning Center on Aug. 31, and she wore a chambray shirt and jeans for the occasion. As a former longtime resident of Toronto, Meghan showed her appreciation for the Canadian tuxedo – even as her family put down roots in their new Southern California home. Harry and Meghan spent time gardening with the kids as they honored the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. They even planted forget-me-nots, which were Diana’s favorite flower. Since she was getting down in the dirt, Meghan kept her outfit understandably casual and opted for her signature “chill mom” look: a denim top and an easy bun. We have to stan a relatable royal! She paired her chambray top and straight jeans with Rothy’s flats and gold bracelets from Cartier and Monica Vinader. Peruse her outfit choice above, then shop her exact shoes and jewelry for yourself.
