Fresh, Easy, Vegan: Summer’s Finest Pulled Jackfruit Tacos

June 24, 2020 at 11:07AM We can’t stop with author Brandi Chang’s Family Style cookbook recipes. Jackfruit tacos are like a California vegan’s version of tofu bowls anywhere else. They’re simple, dazzlingly delicious and easy to build. As the temps rise, try a few new summer recipes like these tacos and follow them up with these gluten-free magic-cali bars!  Jackfruit is a phenomenal plant-based ingredient that’s gained recent popularity in vegan cooking. Much like tofu, jackfruit is best prepared when well-seasoned or marinated. This recipe, originally featured in my cookbook Family Style , can also be prepared on toasted buns to create the ultimate vegan BBQ pulled “pork” sandwich. It’s well worth the time now as it’ll save you much more when you know where everything is. 8 Summer Outfits to See You Through the Heatwave

June 24, 2020 at 06:02AM Having been born and raised in sunny Australia, I like to think I know a thing or two about how to dress for warm weather. While the current forecast in the UK is deemed a heatwave, for us Aussies, it’s just another summer day. Therefore, I thought I would take some time to share my knowledge of how exactly to dress when the mercury rises.  From denim shorts to flowing maxis, there’s no one formula when it comes to dressing for warm weather. At the end of the day, it’s all about what makes you feel cool and comfortable, as both factors become a top priority in these times. Personally, I often rely on breathable fabrics and fluid silhouettes, and as evidenced below, many members of the fashion set tend to do the same. In fact, between the linen shirts, swimwear as daywear and sun-smart accessories, it seems several of our favourites have perfected warm-weather dressing. I Think These Dresses and Sandals Go Together Perfectly

June 24, 2020 at 06:00AM When the weather is like it is this week, all I want to wear are dresses and sandals—the ultimate throw-on duo. As our routines slowly begin to resume, and we are meeting friends for socially distant picnics and walks, many of us are rediscovering the joy in getting dressed up again. I’ve worn some of my favourite dresses for a sit in the park and found that the right pair of sandals can help a “fancy” dress feel more relaxed and appropriate for your everyday plans. Many of the dresses below are perfect for low-key summer plans, but you can also wear them next year to weddings and formal occasions with a switch in sandals. My general rule when it comes to dresses and sandals is that the fancier the dress, the chunkier the shoes. A pair of Tevas or Velcro shoes are the perfect contrast to a silk floral midi dress. Keep scrolling for the 20 dresses and sandals that I think go perfectly together. Next up, see our guide to the key trends for spring and summer 2020. The 5 Archive ’70s Trends I’m Copying This Summer

June 24, 2020 at 06:00AM If I had to be transported back to one decade, it would have to be the ‘70s—well, fashion-wise anyway. I should probably clarify that I mean the more tailored end of the ’70s spectrum as opposed to the full-blown boho aesthetic. (Although, I can concede to the odd maxi dress.) It’s all about the sharp lines, statement detailing and bold prints for me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something about the leg-lengthening effect of the flare and the rock ‘n’ roll swagger of a big collar that inexorably draws me in every time. I’m thinking Bianca and Mick Jagger in matching suits, Diana Ross and her glam get-ups, and even the odd appearance from a safari suit–clad royal. Yep, the ’70s really were packed full of all of the finest fashion inspo you could ever want.  Now more than ever, we should be looking to the past for future outfit ideas. After all, with glossy shoots on hold, why not take a chance to rummage in the archive? I certainly am. To save you time trawling through the endless depths of the internet, I’ve done a little digging and found five throwback pics that I love and am using to inspire my outfits this summer. From warm-weather gingham and kick-ass jumpsuits to safari co-ords and statement collars, scroll down to see what I found, and shop the look with my pre-loved edits. These Sandals Were Sold Out Everywhere Last Year, and They’re Finally in Stock

June 24, 2020 at 05:00AM Sandal brand Arizona Love popped up on my radar last year when I spotted a steady stream of Instagram influencers wearing the printed trek sandals. Jessie Bush, Erica Davies and our very own Who What Wear columnist Monikh were all spotted wearing the shoes. There was only one problem: They kept selling out. Thankfully, the brand has created even more styles and has been restocked on various online retailers.  Much like the Velcro “dad” sandals by Chanel, Teva‘s classic hikers and all the other iterations before and after, these are sandals of the practical variety. While they’re a traditional hiking style, the multicoloured fabric wrapped around the straps makes them so much more fun. The brand was started only a couple of years by French designer Leslie Halfon, but it’s become a real fashion-insider score and completely sold out last summer. So take it from us: You’ll want to get your hands on these pretty quickly before it happens again. Style Notes: Always joyful and colourful, Zeena Shah shows us how to wear these sandals by matching them to your outfit. Style Notes: Matching colours and patterns.  Style Notes: These pearl versions look good with everything.  Style Notes: Trust Monikh to be wearing one of the biggest sandal brands around right now.  Style Notes: More proof that these look excellent with a summer dress.  Style Notes: If you need some pedi inspo, then might we suggest a bold red for the leopard-print versions?  Style Notes: Another great thing about these sandals is that, despite the bold patterns, they

If I Could Wear 1 Shirt All Summer, It Would Be This $16 Striped Button-Down

June 23, 2020 at 11:55PM What qualities make up the perfect summer shirt? For me, I always start by finding a fabric that’s lightweight and breathable. Next, I look for a top that’s versatile so I can wear it with everything already in my warm-weather wardrobe: jean shorts, maxi skirts, and even biker shorts. Then, the print itself has to be fun. After seeing bold striped button-downs cropping up on stylish women all over Instagram, I went on a hunt to find a short-sleeved version I could introduce to my closet. The Old Navy Relaxed Vertical-Stripe Cap-Sleeve Shirt ($16, originally $30) has everything I was looking for. It features vertical stripes that make me think of ocean vacations, and the fabric is lightweight: a mix of cotton and rayon. Check out how some of my favorite influencers have been styling their striped button-downs, then sprint on over to Old Navy to check out my top pick. It’s 25 percent off today. These Dior x Air Jordan 1s Are the Coolest Sneakers We’ve Seen All Year

June 23, 2020 at 10:20PM The Kicks: Dior x Air Jordan 1s ICYMI: Dior is finally releasing its collaboration with Jordan. Yes, this is not a drill! After getting a sneak peek in December of last year when Travis Scott showed off the collab at the luxury brand’s runway show at Art Basel, we finally have more information regarding the new release date for the launch. Initially, the collaboration was supposed to launch in April, but it got delayed due to COVID-19. If you want a closer look at the sneakers, we’ve got you covered. Dior released imagery of the coveted kicks, and they’re pretty fantastic. You’ll notice that the sneakers come in a gray-and-white colorway, and they feature Nike’s classic swoosh logo filled with Dior’s branding in navy. The sneakers will come in two different silhouettes: the high-tops and the low-tops. The rad collab will also include ready-to-wear pieces that will be available at Dior stores in New York, Beverly Hills, and Miami on July 8. As for the sneakers, there isn’t a confirmed release date yet, but it’s speculated they will probably be released around the same time. The brand hasn’t announced pricing either, but we expect the sneakers to go for three to four figures since Dior is a luxury brand. Keep reading to get a closer look at the sneakers.
