June 15, 2020 at 01:00PM No-Bake Cinnamon Roll Protein Bars – a healthy and portable snack packed-full of protein and made with healthy ingredients like dates, cashews, protein powder and rolled oats for a delicious and sweet no-bake treat. While I’m a huge fan of baking I’m also a huge fan of not baking. Ha! Especially when the weather warms up, I like to keep our house cooler and keep the oven turned off when possible. And just on cue, our oven malfunctioned the other days so looks like we’ll be taking a week off baking anyway! So when I was craving a cinnamon roll the other day, I shifted gears in my mind and decided to make cinnamon roll protein bars! And let me tell you… they were a great substitute for the real deal! Givenchy Names Matthew Williams as New Creative Director
June 15, 2020 at 04:31PM This morning, French luxury brand Givenchy has revealed its newest Creative Director: designer Matthew Williams. The news comes two months after Clare Waight Keller announced her resignation from the house. The American designer is the man behind cult streetwear brand 1017 Alyx 9SM (which has previously collaborated with Nike, Dior and Moncler), and he will begin work with the brand on June 16. Williams will oversee all areas of the brand, including both men’s and womenswear – his first designs will be presented in October. In a voice note shared on the Givenchy Instagram account, Williams said, “I want to say something about how honoured I am to be taking on the role of Creative Director at Givenchy. It’s been my lifelong dream to be in this position and it’s really surreal that it’s finally here. I’ve worked every day for 15 years towards this single goal and it’s super surreal. At the same time it’s bittersweet because we’re living in unprecedented times in the world, and I just hope in some way I can bring hope, and with my community and colleagues create positive change for our industry and the world and I’d like to use this platform to do so.” In a statement provided to WWD, Williams added that under his reign Givenchy’s approach will be “based on modernity and inclusivity.” Watch this space. Michael Kors Is Leaving New York Fashion Week and Will Not Be Having a Runway Show
June 15, 2020 at 04:24PM Michael Kors is the latest designer to opt out of New York Fashion Week for the upcoming season in September. In the past, Michael Kors’s shows have often opened the final day of shows in NYC, but all of that has changed due to COVID-19 and the fashion community wanting a more consumer-focused format for Fashion Week. Now, the designer will be joining the likes of Gucci, and he is rethinking the brand’s Fashion Week structure. In a statement to Vogue, the designer stated: “I have for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change. It’s exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community about the calendar – from Giorgio Armani to Dries Van Noten to Gucci to YSL to major retailers around the globe – about ways in which we can slow down the process and improve the way we work. We’ve all had time to reflect and analyze things, and I think many agree that it’s time for a new approach for a new era,” he said.
