9 comfy ‘Booksmart’-inspired jumpsuits that’ll earn you an A+ in summer party style

May 31, 2019 at 06:19AM by CWC For the uninitiated, Booksmart follows two overachieving besties who try to jam-pack a last chance at high-school revelry into a single night after having spent years playing things, well, by the book. Spoiler alert: They’re as successful in their party endeavor as they undoubtedly were on their AP tests—perhaps most notably in their #lewk for the night out. Molly (Beanie Feldstein) and Amy (Kaitlyn Dever) end up styling themselves like badass Ghostbusters in comfy AF jumpsuits and sneakers. Some might call that an ill-informed fashion faux pas or just like, “a real chore if you need to pee.” But I, for one, am here for it because when you’re ready to eschew the JOMO and be a high-performing social butterfly, nothing says you’re ready to kick ass, take names, and make some memories like a cool jumpsuit. An all-purpose jumpsuit is the outfit for ambitious doers who prioritize function above all. Done right, it’s work-appropriate, errand-appropriate and gym-appropriate. It communicates that you’re crawling out of your introvert shell and you’re doing just fine. Sure, a case could be made for cute floral sundresses being the summertime party go-to, but the one-piece look encompasses enough visual interest that it doesn’t even need a wacky print to jazz it up. It is the strong and silent type that means business—even if the business at hand is a good time. Sure, the summer jumpsuit can be accessorized with the likes of funky belts, heeled metallic sandals,

The one diet change Jessica Biel says totally improved her digestion

May 31, 2019 at 05:35AM by CWC While some celebs curate their Instagram feed to only show photos of Sweetgreen salads and smoothies, just a peek at Jessica Biel’s shows she’s all about the balanced life. Instagramming lunch from Green Leaf Chop Shop one day and a chocolate cake the next is more her vibe. But she’s also totally in tune with her body and knows when something’s, well, a little off. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Biel reveals which foods make her feel less than sexy—and no, she’s not talking about sugar. “Honestly, I just feel better when I don’t have gluten or dairy,” she tells the newspaper. “My digestion is better, I feel better, and I have more energy.” (Maybe Mrs. Timberlake is hip to inflammation? Because avoiding those two food groups are basically step one to fighting it.) But that doesn’t mean she’s about to give up carbs. Biel says Paleo pancake mix is a staple at her house and almond butter is her hotcake topping of choice, which makes sense considering she also revealed she’s often looking for more ways to pump up her protein intake. And she says her go-to snack is gluten-free pretzels with an almond “cheese” dip…yum. Of course, she’s not perfectly gluten-free all the time. She says she still makes room for cookies and pizza within her healthy diet. Per InStyle, she’s also really into pasta. (Which, same.) Fighting inflammation, prioritizing protein…while not obsessing over any of it? The girl has wellness down. Originally posted January

3 expert tips to keep anxiety from being the third wheel in your relationship

May 31, 2019 at 04:00AM by CWC Anxiety is oh so common—in fact, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America estimates 40 million adults in the United States are affected by anxiety disorders every year. When you’re afflicted, the condition has a nasty way of invading every crevice of life—including matters of the heart. So, hate to break it to you, but your relationship is certainly not immune. It’s confusing enough to navigate the rough waters of finding a love worthy of commitment and energy without adding in the awful X factor of anxiety. And as one of those 40 million Americans who suffers from an anxiety disorder, I know this yarn all too well. Thankfully, “my anxiety is ruining my relationship” isn’t something I’ve said about my own situation: I have a partner who is supportive and patient with me whenever I trudge through times of high anxiety, even if those instances render me a frustrating and frustrated ball of silence who can’t communicate in real time what’s happening internally. Still, my condition does certainly get in the way—a lot—and the same is true for many couples, especially those who are very close and spend a whole bunch of their time together. “That’s where anxiety can become a bit tricky, because you’re suddenly letting your partner in on some of your deeper vulnerabilities,” says Chloe Carmichael, PhD, a clinical psychologist based in New York City. Whether you’re anxious about the relationship itself or matters outside of it (or, let’s

How to eat healthy at Dunkin’ Donuts, according to a nutritionist

May 31, 2019 at 03:00AM by CWC If America runs on Dunkin’, we’re in danger of setting ourselves up for a collective afternoon sugar crash. I love flavored lattes, glazed donuts, and oversized muffins as much as the next person, but that energy drop a few hours after is steep, my friends. Thankfully, there are options for healthy eating at DD if you know where to look. The chain has a dedicated DDSmart menu, which highlights foods with at least 25 percent less saturated fat, sodium, or sugar than everything else on their menu. (Like, um, the donuts.) Dunkin’ even recently came out with two new high-protein power bowls, a sausage scramble and and egg white bowl, which they’re serving at select locations for a limited time. As for the regular menu, it’s actually *even* possible to stick to healthy vegetarian, keto, and Paleo eating plans while you’re there. Surprised? Here, registered dietitian Kim Melton, RD gives her top picks for the aforementioned diet types—fancy latte options included. Vegetarian diet Menu picks: Oatmeal; veggie egg white sandwich What an RD says: The DDSmart menu is where you’ll find both the oatmeal and the veggie egg-white sandwich—Melton’s healthy picks for vegetarians. “The oatmeal is the healthiest option and has great fiber and protein,” she says, adding that the dried fruit on top is a great topping. “For vegetarians who eat eggs and cheese, the veggie egg white sandwich also gives good protein [14 grams],” Melton says. “It looks like you can get it

Without a doubt, this is the biggest mistake we make when exfoliating in the shower

May 30, 2019 at 05:00PM by CWC Once upon a time, I likened scrubbing my body in the shower to folding laundry. I considered it a real chore. Now, however, I’ve changed my tune. A dermatologist taught me how to properly exfoliate at home from head-to-toe without wasting a single drop of precious product—and it’s made the whole business of scrub-a-dub-dubbing way easier (not to mention more eco-friendly). You know that really annoying moment when you’ve slathered your go-to exfoliant all over and—gah!—the stream of the shower sends the product straight down the drain before your bod has time to drink it up? Before it has time to form that “lather” that labels say is oh-so-important? Well, here’s the solve. By simply turning on the water, getting your skin damp, then applying product while the shower is off, you avoid wasting your product (and water) while giving it time to really work its skin-shedding magic. Just make sure you don’t skip step one (wetting the skin). Joshua Zeichner, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, explains that applying a harsher product to a dry complexion could do more harm than good. “When the skin is warm and hydrated, dead cells on the surface may more easily be removed and cause less trauma. Especially when using manual exfoliators or gritty products, over-scrubbing may lead to skin irritation, loss of hydration, and inflammation,” he says. The skin expert-recommended allowance for exfoliating is once a week, but you can shoot for a

The leopard print midi (AKA spring’s fave skirt) looks even better as leggings

May 30, 2019 at 03:24PM by CWC As my fashion-stylist friends always like to say, leopard print is a neutral. At least that’s true this season, when you can’t open Instagram without seeing some chic woman rocking a mid-calf length, silky skirt in some variation on the pattern. And while that leopard-print midi skirt is actually a lot more versatile than you might think—I’ve seen it paired with vintage band tees, oversize blazers, and platform sneakers, sometimes all at the same time—the one place you can’t really make it work is the gym. (I mean, prove me wrong, please!) Thankfully, the activewear powers that be are one step ahead of us. Leopard leggings, too, are all over the place for summer, with options in all different colors, sizes, and price points. They’re a more unexpected choice than the typical warm-weather florals (Miranda Priestley would be so proud), and as someone who owns a pair, I like to think they give me a little hit of badass energy when I’m about to tackle a particularly hard workout. Plus, because they’re a print, they do a great job hiding sweat after a particularly grueling fitness class. Keep on scrolling for the best-of-the-best leopard print leggings to add to your rotation. From baby blue varieties to biker shorts to some good old-fashioned 7/8-length classic spots, there are plenty of ways to take the print this spring (whether or not you also have the skirt that’s seen everywhere this spring). One thing’s for certain:
