Trust Monikh—Our Girl Just Found the Dream Dress in Mango

April 22, 2020 at 06:28AM There are hundreds of thousands of influencers in the social ether, but only a handful who we religiously stalk in order to virtually steal the clothes off their backs. Our primary target is Monikh—the London-based styling and shopping guru who seeks out the very coolest buys from every corner of the retail world. From her inspiring tips on re-wearing her well-chosen investment items to hunting down the coolest high-street pieces, her Instagram feed @monikh and website are a veritable hotbed of things you’re going to want to purchase immediately (and will never regret). Each week, Monikh will share her new picks exclusively for you… I’ve decided to make this week’s big three pure sunshine by sticking to pieces in a buttery yellow. This is a colour with the ability to lift your mood and bring the summer feeling indoors. My edit this week has one piece of sunshine to wear, one to hold, and one to lay with—what more could you want? In the must-have S/S 20 shape, the tone of this Mango dress makes it stand out from the rest. I’ve always got water, tea or wine in my hand, depending on the time. Staying hydrated is key, so you might as well make it as pretty as possible. These vintage handblown glasses are the absolute dream. I need one in every colour! Whether they’re thrown on the sofa or the bed, trust me—laying on these while binging on 12 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy

The Happy Print That Is Making Our Instagram Feeds Jollier

April 22, 2020 at 06:06AM Whether you want to credit it to TikTok or something else entirely, there is no denying that tie-dye is all over social media right now. While once considered a craft project, reserved for nineties art classes or at-home hobbyists, the trend has well and truly infiltrated the fashion industry in recent years, with designer labels—including Dior and Versace among them—creating their own kaleidoscopic iterations. From T-shirts and tracksuits to dresses and socks, colourful dye is being splashed across any and every item of clothing these days, creating a plethora of rainbow-hued options for tie-dye enthusiasts. The trend has taken off particularly across loungewear in recent months (for obvious reasons) as influencers, It girls and celebrities, are turning to happy hues when getting dressed at home. If the vibrancy of the trend feels somewhat overwhelming at first, I’d suggest starting small (like a tie-dye T-shirt or tank top) before completely investing in a full tie-dye look. Keep scrolling to see how influencers and editors are championing the trend and then shop our favourite tie-dye pieces below. Mango’s Summer Collection Is Here and We Only Want to Show You the Best Bits

April 22, 2020 at 06:00AM Compared to previous years, we wouldn’t exactly call this the most typical spring, and if we’re honest, we’re not really sure what summer will bring either. But whether you’re WFH or heading out for your usual 9-to-5, trying to save the pennies or looking for a new season pick-me-up, we hope we can bring you a bit of fashion-based escapism in the form of delectable dresses, chic accessories and anything-but-boring basics. Luckily, Mango’s summer collection is here and it’s stuffed full of new season inspo and feel-good styles to get you going on your warm weather wardrobe. We know not everyone will be in the position to invest in newness, but we’ll also be using the new season drops as a way to reinvigorate old favourites and experiment with new pairings. Mango in particular is great with its e-commerce styling, so make sure to check out the model shots for outfit ideas. Personally, I’m keeping my eye out for minimalist separates that will stand the test of time—whatever the year throws at me. I’m thinking Mango’s wrap leather jacket, which I’ll layer over a tank top and jeans or a white jumpsuit for easy WFH style. Or, for a hit of print, I’ll be looking to the brand’s smocked midis and floral shirts. Ready? Scroll down to see my full edit. Style Notes: A pair of floral trousers will add a retro twist to basic tops this summer.  Style Notes: The fashion crowd is officially

20 Sustainable Brands Our Editors Champion Every Day of the Year

April 22, 2020 at 05:00AM Sustainable fashion can be confusing. Is it vegan? Ethically produced? Environmentally friendly? Fair-trade? Is it a catch-all term for anything that relates to fashion that isn’t fast? The short answer is that it can be all those things. The long answer is that it’s much more complicated than that. Sustainable fashion pertains to the sourcing, production and distribution of the garment. The lifespan of a piece of clothing must be looked at from start to finish. It means understanding that organic cotton is better than regular cotton, as it doesn’t use pesticides or harmful chemicals that are bad for the skin. Also, manmade fabrics (such as polyester) are damaging to the environment, as they’re often made from plastic and are nonbiodegradable. While leather can be eco-friendly, it can still impact the environment due to the chemicals used to finish it. Then there’s the production: Are the clothes being made in an environment that’s safe for workers? For example, some synthetic dyes can be toxic to people using them during the manufacturing process and can cause health problems. Adding to this, another good question to ask is if the workers are paid fairly and correctly. Then, once made, how far is the garment travelling? What kind of carbon footprint in the brand creating?  Elaine Welteroth in a Maggie Marilyn dress. All of these questions are vital if you want to know if a brand adheres to sustainable practices. And today on Earth Day it seems like a

Why a White Ribbed Tank Will Forever Feel Like the Sexiest “Stay Home” Outfit

April 21, 2020 at 09:21PM The moment I decided to fine tune my stay-home style, I realized what wardrobe essential I was missing: a white ribbed tank top. I immediately thought of Carrie Bradshaw typing away on her computer, writing her column in a thin tank and low-slung slip skirt. And how about Kate Hudson, making out with Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days? Andie rocked her tank with dark denim, which she wore undone on the front of Ben’s motorcycle. No look that I can think of feels quite as sexy or as classic. As far as tweaking my stay-home style goes, I wasn’t considering slipping on pumps and a glamorous dress; I just wanted to feel a little more put together in my clothes because I thought it might inspire me to work better. Plus, I always feel good about dressing up for my partner, and with both of us working from home during the lockdown, there’s no better time to feel romantic or try to spark joy if you can. “Sometimes it can be nice to press pause on my daily routine and get lost in a rabbit hole, building up my mood board with famous fashion photos.” To be clear, I think everyone should wear whatever the heck they want to wear right now. Whether that’s the same co-ord sweatsuit every damn day or the pajamas you spent the last two nights in is your own prerogative. Your own home is

Here’s What Drake, the Friends Cast, and Other Celebs Are Auctioning for COVID-19 Relief

April 21, 2020 at 08:30PM The All In Challenge was launched last week by Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin and has already roped in names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Gwyneth Paltrow, Drake, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Bieber. “Together what we want to do is literally build the largest movement with all the best entertainers, celebrities, athletes, business titans, coming together to make a real impact on this issue,” Rubin said on Twitter when launching the initiative. The goal is to encourage celebrities to offer one-of-a-kind experiences and items in an “auction” that people can enter to win, with a donation as low as $10. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry and America’s Food Fund, which directly benefits World Central Kitchen and Feeding America. Some of the items up for auction include a hand-beaded Calvin Klein dress that Gywneth Paltrow wore to the 2000 Oscars. “I’m donating a dress I wore to the Oscars (and that holds great sentimental value!) which I will personally hand to you over a cup of tea or a glass of wine,” wrote Paltrow on Instagram. View this post on Instagram In an effort to focus on organizations providing food assistance, I have joined the #allinchallenge which is raising money for @mealsonwheelsamerica, @nokidhungry, @wckitchen, @feedingamerica and @americasfoodfund.
