May 13, 2020 at 05:40PM Since I’ve been spending all my time at home, I’ve been taking full advantage of wearing sweats and giving my face a break from from makeup. Now that I’m a little over a month into being here, honestly, I could use a pick-me-up. I upped my game to matching sweatsuits (which seemed more formal) and using tinted moisturize, and it felt great. But I decided I was ready to take it one level further and treat myself to a piece of clothing that is also acceptable to wear when this is all over. The Old Navy Square-Neck Cami Jumpsuit ($12, originally $39) was the versatile piece I was looking for. The jumpsuit ticks all my boxes: it has pockets, it’s comfy, I can wear it around the house and outside with sneakers, sandals, you name it. Ringing in at just $15 makes it hard to refuse, because the cozy pick is one I can wear now and so much more later, making it worth every penny. Kendall Jenner’s Sexy Lingerie Just Inspired My Outfit – So Yeah, I Was Influenced
May 13, 2020 at 04:26PM Kendall Jenner posted a selfie from her bedroom wearing lingerie from New Zealand-based brand Lonely – make that the Hollie Teddy, to be exact – with the caption “did my makeup n stuff.” Immediately, the compliments started pouring in. “This is rare kendall content !!!!!!” Kylie Jenner wrote. “Ummm who you zoomin’ with?” Kendall’s hairstylist Jen Atkin commented. Kylie is probably referring to the fact that Kendall doesn’t usually do her own makeup, because we aren’t too surprised to see Kendall in a sexy look. That said, the Instagram ended up inspiring my own stay-home outfit. Lonely designer Helene Morris creates her collections “for women who wear lingerie as a love letter to themselves.” That’s exactly why I invest in lingerie, and I honestly feel sexiest when wearing it and I catch a glimpse of it in the mirror or I feel the lace or silk on my skin underneath my sweater. Kendall repping the brand reminded me of this. She was clearly wearing her teddy with such confidence, and that led me straight to my lingerie drawer to pull out something similar, which I proudly let peek out from underneath a cardigan. The singer was wearing a red stickman hoodie from Billie’s merch line with a pair of black pants. (We’re sure Billie is ecstatic as she’s gone on record to say she’s a huge Belieber.) 2) His walk-in closet is absolute goals. 3) Along with an array of colorful long-sleeved tees, graphic-print t-shirts, and hoodies, Justin also owns a covetable piece of fashion history: the Louis Vuitton x Supreme trunk. To give you an idea of just how covetable the piece from the collab is, it’s currently selling on eBay for over $100K. House Dresses Have a Whole New Meaning in 2020, and I Welcome Them With Open Arms
May 12, 2020 at 09:35PM The term “house dress” originated in the late 19th century and gained popularity in the early 20th century, and described a frock designated for doing chores around the house or running errands. It was by no means presentable enough to travel in or wear to a function; but in the 1950s, these became progressively more stylish. House dresses were part of the daily uniform, many coming as part of a set with matching aprons or gloves, in floral and gingham prints, or with pockets. But in 2020, all the house dress really means to me is something functional, yet romantic that is also comfortable (think: poplin or linen fabric in loose silhouettes or a breezy shirtdress). These dresses also have details like pouf sleeves, embroidery, or frilled skirts that make them stylish enough on their own without even a pair of shoes. I don’t want to say they were made for your next stay-at-home photo shoot, but I mean, weren’t they? At its core, the house dress is just the laid-back, lovable look you reach for when you’re tired of your sweats and you want to dress up a little bit. The style is even being referred to as the “house dress” by some of our favorite brands and leaders in fashion, and at least one pops up on my Instagram feed every day – so that’s how you know it’s a trend.
