We Got Our Hands on These Never-Before-Seen Fitting Photos From Outer Banks
May 12, 2020 at 05:23PM Oh, if there was ever a time to dream of casual beach style, it’d be right now, immediately following our obsession with Netflix’s Outer Banks. Fans seriously cannot get enough of Sarah Cameron’s outfits or Kiara Carrera’s cool-girl hippie vibes, and costume designer Emmie Holmes is well aware. When I got the chance to talk to her for an exclusive POPSUGAR interview, she told me she was buried deep in DMs begging for accessory details – John B’s bandana and the beaded bracelets are, without a doubt, her most popular inquiry. “[A sanding block is] going to be your number-one tool in achieving pogue style!” But Holmes is so awesome that she also graces her fans with tried-and-true advice for how she created the mood while shooting, which she refers to as “a little surfer, a little southern, a dash of hippie (especially if Kiara is your girl), and a whole lot of wear and tear.” Holmes has encouraged followers of the show to pick up sanding blocks to distress their clothing – “it’s going to be your number-one tool in achieving pogue style!” – and is giving POPSUGAR readers a behind-the-scenes look at some of her favorite fittings with the cast, along with plenty more little-known facts about the show. “The pogue look is vary attainable. Hunt for funky John B-inspired shirts at your local thrift stores. Don’t be afraid of sale racks and bargain bins because it’s all in how you piece it
I Tried Old Navy’s Bestselling High-Waisted Jeans, and Whoa – They’re Sweatpants-Level Comfy
May 12, 2020 at 05:10PM I dread jeans shopping. Getting tons of pairs on and off my body in the fitting room is a straight-up nightmare. That’s why I jumped at the chance to order these Old Navy Extra High-Waisted Boyfriend Straight Jeans ($35, originally $40) – they arrived to the comfort of my home, hassle-free. I was curious about this pair in particular because they’re bestsellers on the site – the customer reviews got me excited to give them a shot. Not only are these jeans flattering, (I love a good high waist) they’re also insanely comfortable. They have some stretch, but not the type that feels baggy. I can throw them in the washing machine, and they maintain their shape perfectly. I often sit cross-legged on the sofa, and these are just as easy to wear all day long as sweatpants. I’m not kidding – they’re the perfect sort of denim to put on for extended periods of time. These boyfriend jeans comes in sizes 0-20, as well as tall, petite, and regular lengths. They’re discounted right now, so I suggested getting your hands on my new faves while you still can. I might have to stock up on an extra pair! Read on for more shopping info. The company is doing its part to help those who are struggling to provide basic necessities by donating over $30 million of clothing to American families in need. Old Navy is working with a number of partners to distribute the clothes to vulnerable families including nonprofit organizations like Good360 and Baby2Baby. I Just Found the Perfect Summer Sandals, and They Were Only $13
May 12, 2020 at 03:40PM The other day, I glanced down at my feet. Not only were they in dire need of a fresh pedicure, but they were enveloped in – yet again – a pair of cozy slippers for the umpteenth day in a row. While I love cozy clothing, in that moment, I felt like I wanted a fresh pair of stylish sandals. There are so many shoe trends to consider right now – from block heels to thong sandals – but I decided to hunt down one of my favorite styles: an easy-to-wear gladiator sandal; and I found it at Old Navy. The Faux-Suede Lace-Up Gladiator Sandals ($13, originally $35) comes in five earthy shades, and unlike other gladiators I’ve owned, they’re simple to both slip on and tie. The footbed is soft, it’s simple to loosen or tighten the laces, and the laces even have small delicate tassels on the ends so the shoe itself doesn’t feel overly trendy. The minute I slipped them on, I took them for a walk and felt ready for summer. Continue Reading… Author Rebecca Brown | Popsugar Selected by CWC
Outer Banks: Kiara’s Necklaces Are in Such High Demand, Etsy Sellers Are Re-creating Them
May 12, 2020 at 03:20PM Netflix’s Outer Banks is quite the sensation, and fans are going wild for the fashion on the show. Not only did we provide you with deep dives on both Sarah Cameron’s style and Kiara Carrera’s cool girl beach looks, but we are also here to answer any specific questions you might have – like, say, about Kiara’s layered beaded necklaces. The pieces are from Elsie Frieda and they’re made with beads sourced ethically from women in Ghana. The Louise Collection chokers Kiara wears in the show ‚ styled with a pendant on a black cord – are now in such high demand that they have an expected ship date of May 20, but they are still available. Etsy seller KingUniversal has even re-created Kiara’s full three-piece set, which you can pick up for $35 plus shipping costs from Australia. As a fan of the beach, I’ve always loved the colorful beaded necklace look – perhaps mixed in with some puka shells like I used to wear in the ’90s – so I totally get the infatuation here. I’ve gone ahead and chosen a few more necklaces that have the same feel and can be worn alone, or with a few others. Keep reading to see Kiara rocking her newly iconic jewelry, then shop some inspired designs. I Can’t Be the Only One Obsessing Over Judy’s Outfits on Dead to Me Season 2
May 11, 2020 at 11:31PM I’ve been itching to revamp my wardrobe for weeks, and binge-watching season two of Dead to Me in the span of two days made that desire grow tenfold. In the Netflix series’s highly anticipated second installment, Judy Hale (Linda Cardellini) continues her reign as the Queen of Floral Dresses, breaking out a slew of spring-ready wrap dresses in addition to cool moto jackets, calf-high boots, and denim skirts that made me want to cartoonishly climb through my TV just so I could check her tags to learn the designer. While watching all the drama unfold in season two – and phew, there is a lot of it – I was struck with a realization about Judy’s wardrobe. Her personal style and penchant for sweet floral prints echo her bubbly, bright-side-seeking nature. What’s more is that her outfits offer a pretty stark contrast to Jen Harding’s (Christina Applegate) array of muted button-down shirts, blazers, and slacks – yet another reminder to the viewer just how opposite they really are. Whether that was the intention of Dead to Me costume designer Trayce Gigi Field, I’m not sure, but either way, she did an incredible job piecing together Judy’s carefree wardrobe, if I do say so myself. If you, too, can’t stop thinking about Judy’s cute season two outfits, I tracked down exactly where to shop some of her pieces, with a little help from the screen-style experts at Shop Your TV.
