These Colorful New Balance x Staud Sneakers Were Inspired by Princess Diana
May 11, 2020 at 08:50PM The Kicks: Staud x New Balance 997 Sneakers ($230) Release Date: May 15, 2020 New Balance is teaming up with a fashion favorite for its latest designer collaboration: Staud. After its successful collab with New York designer Aimé Leon Dore, New Balance is back for another round. Designer Sarah Staudinger, who is a 2019 CFDA Fashion Award nominee, has teamed up with the sportswear brand for an activewear line and a pair of sneakers than stole our attention. Along with track pants, leggings, and sports bra, Staud also created a new version of New Balance’s classic 997 sneaker, and it’s perfect for the summer. Staud gave the retro sneakers a colorful makeover that stays true to the brand’s DNA. The colorful sneakers come in a variety of vibrant hues like orange, yellow, green, and blue. Sarah told Vogue that her muses for the project included Princess Diana in her gym clothes and Susan Sarandon wearing New Balance sneakers in Cannes back in 1978. I Traded In My Sweats For These Pants, and They Feel the Freaking Same!
May 11, 2020 at 08:20PM Recently, I upgraded my loungewear collection with a number of matching sweats. Then, as much as I loved them, I hit a wall and felt like I needed to find some real pants. I think the sentiment I shared with coworkers was something like, “I have got to find some real pants.” Maybe a curse word was in there somewhere, too. I headed over to Old Navy and scrolled through over 400 pairs of pants until I found a pair that looked like they had promise. The Mid-Rise Soft-Twill Utility Pants ($25, originally $40) were exactly what I was looking for. I immediately gravitated to the drawstring – I draw the line at zippers and buttons right now – and purchased them in the army-green shade. As soon as they arrived, I ripped them out of the bag and slipped them on. I was dying to know if they’d feel stiff, soft, heavy, etc. See how they stacked up ahead! The singer starred in the new Savage x Fenty summer campaign along with her muses to honor the brand’s second anniversary. All of the campaign imagery was shot in each of the models’ homes, and collage artist Rafatoon made the photos even cooler by creating dreamy, tropical backgrounds for each image. But now Rihanna is turning to all her fans, giving them the opportunity to star in the brand’s upcoming July summer 2020 campaign – a continuation of this series. Winners will be selected to be photographed over FaceTime (something that’s become a norm now as we’ve seen with Jacquemus’s latest campaign). You can submit your photos to Savage x Fenty’s Instagram page from now until July for a chance to win.
