July 01, 2020 at 06:05PM The other day, I glanced down at my feet. Not only were they in dire need of a fresh pedicure, but they were enveloped in – yet again – a pair of flip-flops for the umpteenth day in a row. While I love easy slides, in that moment, I felt like I wanted a fresh pair of stylish sandals. There are so many shoe trends to consider right now – from block heels to thong sandals – but I decided to hunt down one of my favorite styles: an easy-to-wear gladiator sandal; and I found it at Old Navy. The Faux-Suede Lace-Up Gladiator Sandals ($10, originally $35) comes in five earthy shades, and unlike other gladiators I’ve owned, they’re simple to both slip on and tie. The footbed is soft, it’s simple to loosen or tighten the laces, and the laces even have small delicate tassels on the ends so the shoe itself doesn’t feel overly trendy. The minute I slipped them on, I took them for a walk and felt ready for the beautiful warm weather. I plan to wear them with lightweight pants and even denim shorts. 6 Shopping Habits I’ve Adopted to Become a More Mindful Consumer
July 01, 2020 at 05:55PM Somewhat inadvertently, I became a minimalist. Not solely with the style of clothing and accessories that I gravitate toward – though I do revel in clean lines, classic silhouettes, and neutral colors – but also with my space and the amount of “stuff” in it. For the last three years, I’ve primarily worked from home (which is a one-bedroom apartment that I share with my fiancé in Manhattan), wherein certain clothing types no longer made sense. While I’ve always maintained a clean and relatively clutter-free space, I routinely became distracted by the little messes that would pile up around my workspace, from papers to clothing. My focus derailed and shifted into a full-on deep clean of my apartment on more occasions than I’d like to admit. To wit, on days when I had meetings or went into an office pre-COVID-19, I found myself increasingly challenged by getting dressed. Many of the standout styles in my closet lost their luster. The majority of my “investment pieces” felt fussy for the occasions at hand. And newer items I purchased were trickier to style than I imagined. As for the basics, well, they were wearing down after many a default outfit, which often consisted of a T-shirt, blazer, and jeans. For someone who has worked in fashion for the past 10 years, this felt like an epic failure, to say the least. I decided to restrategize and started with a major home and closet clean-out. In turn, my

Dua Lipa Gives Me At-Home Outfit Envy – Especially in These Crochet Shorts
July 01, 2020 at 03:36PM Dua Lipa was one of the many famous faces British Vogue reached out to for snapshots from home for the magazine’s August issue. In a similar fashion, American Vogue featured postcards from the fashion industry for June/July, giving us a glimpse at what celebrities are doing at home. For Lipa herself, it’s wearing very comfy, fashion-forward loungewear looks alongside her SO Anwar Hadid, who also helped her dye her hair pink during lockdown. Dua has certainly been giving us sweatsuit envy on Instagram, and her submission to Vogue brings a new pair of checkered crochet shorts into light, which Dua paired with Raf Simons’s Smiley Face Jumper that rings in at a cool $753. The crochet style is a trend we can get behind, especially in shorts version, when we’re looking for lightweight, mood-boosting clothing for couch lounging and social-distance walks. Scroll ahead to read Dua’s full quote about what she and Anwar are up to – in their very cool athleisurewear – then shop some similar crochet shorts we love and read the full celebrity feature in the August issue of British Vogue, available via digital download and on newsstands Friday, July 3. See Beyoncé’s Full Velvet and Mesh BET Awards Look From Head to Toe
July 01, 2020 at 02:56PM Beyoncé allowed us all to direct our full attention to her BET Humanitarian Award acceptance speech on Sunday night, when the event aired virtually. For that, we are grateful. Though she gave us a sneak peek at the jewelry she was wearing behind the camera – we all got to see her crystal drop choker and how it played up her beautiful makeup done by artist Rokael Lizama – we were less focused on the possibility of an elegant outfit and more in tune to her moving, powerful message. Later, however, Beyoncé’s stylist Zerina Akers shared her full look: a velvet, high-low Alessandra Rich dress with floor-grazing ruffles, a bow at the waist, and three crystalized buttons to go with the accessories. Bey added mesh gloves and, peeking out from underneath her gown, we spotted her crystalized ankle-strap sandals. It’s safe to say that she proved, with just one look, fashion is truly seasonless, and a thick, velvet dress can be appropriate for a summer award show if she and Zerina give it the nod of approval. Even though we wouldn’t have been disappointed to miss a fashion moment from The Queen this time around – we’d still have that speech to rewatch over and over – we’re glad Beyoncé did, indeed, go glam for this very special moment. This $25 Floral T-Shirt Dress Is the Best Thing I’ve Bought All Summer
July 01, 2020 at 12:54AM I’m someone who loves spending time outside. Whether I’m chatting with neighbors or walking my dog, I love a good healthy dose of vitamin D when I can schedule it in. Now that it’s consistently hot outside, I realized I needed to find more warm-weather outfits that were easy to put together. Sure I could go for denim shorts or my biker shorts, but I always feel like I have to put a lot of effort into styling; I wanted to find something more turnkey. I set out to find the perfect Summer dress and set a few rules before I started shopping: the dress had to have a fun print (prints just make me happy), it couldn’t hug my waist (nothing more uncomfortable than being hot in a dress that’s also tight), and it had to be machine washable (dry cleaning is for the birds). It didn’t take long before I found it: the Old Navy Jersey Swing Dress ($25) checked all my boxes. I took a look at the fabric before ordering (a mix of rayon and spandex) and decided to actually order down a size, which sounds crazy considering I wanted to find an easy-going and roomy dress, but it ended up being the right move. The dress fits exactly like a t-shirt up top and is relaxed through the body with a flared hem that swings out as you walk, so there is a ton of space to move around. I
