Burberry Announces Plans For a Fashion Show This September
June 22, 2020 at 07:33PM When Burberry didn’t feature in the British Fashion Council’s first London Fashion Week Digital, a few eagle-eyed fashion fans were left perplexed. But Britain’s premiere heritage house wasn’t going quiet; instead, it was planning something far more grand – an immersive fashion show set in the great (British) outdoors, accessible to all this September. As it has for many of us, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has inspired Burberry to muse about nature in all its purity and power. The brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection titled “Burberry in Nature” seeks to “redefine our fashion landscape with new forms of expression.” The brand’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci, explained in a press statement that “as humans, we have always had a deep affinity to nature. We have had to respect and rely upon its power for our very existence, whilst marvelling and revelling in its extraordinary beauty. Especially recently, we have all yearned to reconnect again and for this show, I wanted to celebrate these feelings by bringing our community together in a creative experience that takes place within the beautiful, natural landscape of Britain.” Burberry is the first major fashion house to announce plans for resuming the traditional Spring/Summer 2021 fashion-show scheduling. On Sept. 17, Burberry will host a live outdoor physical presentation that is open for all to stream digitally. The show, as with its two previous shows, will be certified carbon neutral with any remaining emissions offset by Burberry’s Regeneration Fund. More Celeb News Author Kara
This $18 Bestselling Maxi Dress You Keep Seeing on Instagram Is Back in Stock
June 22, 2020 at 07:25PM Just like doing my hair or spending extra time grooming my eyebrows, putting in the extra effort to find something cute to wear – even if I’m just working from home and in sweats – has the ability to affect my mood. There’s certainly no replacement for stylish loungewear, but I was curious as to what would happen if I challenged myself to wear a dress while working from home – weather dependent, of course. In part because I kept seeing this adorable printed maxi dress in my Instagram feed, which I’ll link to ahead, but also because I was just genuinely curious about whether I’d feel silly wearing a dress inside, or if I’d love it. I’m happy to report that last week, I wore a thin maxi dress inside three times! Not only was I completely comfortable (important note that I only wore easy-breezy dresses; nothing formfitting), but exuded a bit more pep throughout my day. I encourage you to take a break from your usual loungewear game and embark on a dress journey. If you need some shopping ideas, here’s the Sleeveless V-Neck Maxi Shift Dress($18) that got me in the mood. Laverne Cox Is Auctioning Off Her Custom Rainbow Pride Clutch From the 2019 Emmys
June 22, 2020 at 04:46PM Laverne Cox is auctioning off her custom Edie Parker clutch from the 2019 Emmys to support the LGBTQ+ community. The actress showed up to the award show with ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio carrying this incredible rainbow Edie Parker clutch. Laverne styled the clutch with a Monsoori dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. The statement-making accessory had the date Oct. 8 written on it, which was when the US Supreme Court was set to hear whether Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (which prohibits sex discrimination in the work place) applies to LGBTQ+ discrimination. On June 15, 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that the act protects gay and transgender workers from workplace discrimination. If you’re hoping to get your hands on this one-of-a-kind clutch, the two-week auction is now open on Charitybuzz, an online bidding site that raises funds for nonprofits. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction will be going to the Anti-Violence Project, an organization that helps keep the LGBTQ+ community safe from intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and police violence. The starting bid for Laverne’s rainbow clutch is $0, but it’s expected to go into the thousands. Keep reading to take a closer look at the clutch. It’s About Time We Saw Those Rainbow Cs! Coach Launches Its First-Ever Full Pride Collection
June 22, 2020 at 04:12PM Coach launched its “We C You” Pride campaign to support the LBGTQ+ community this year, calling on Rickey Thompson, Kim Petras, Bob the Drag Queen, and more to star in a self-filmed video about what makes them feel seen. The film snippets, which were curated and strung together by Christelle de Castro to form the colorful clip you’ll see ahead, were shot on GoPros and smart phones during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coach Foundation has committed to making donations to the Hetrick-Martin Institute, GLSEN, and the Albert Kennedy Trust in support this year, and Coach is encouraging us all to wear our love and inclusivity on our sleeves with its first-ever full, cross-category range designed to be gender inclusive. Rainbow Cs are splashed across a new bucket hat, the Academy backpack and belt bag, t-shirts, and more. In our opinion, there has never been a better reason to shop at Coach. But even if you don’t pick up any of the new items, it’s great just to hear about different queer experiences and, at the very least, feel a little more empowered today and every day. Keep reading to check out the YouTube video Coach released, then shop all the items in the collection after the jump.
