July 05, 2020 at 06:30AM Working in the beauty industry definitely has its perks. Not only is it an industry full of amazingly creative and inspirational women and men, but it’s also incredibly fun. Although we might not get to sit and play with lipstick and serums all day, it is a big part of the job. Which brings me to perhaps one of the most obvious perks, free products. And while being sent all of the latest beauty products is without a doubt a blessing, it does come with its issues. The main one being storage. You see, the number of new beauty products that launch every single week is a bit overwhelming, and quite frankly, it’s all too easy to end up having more products than you do space (and face). It wasn’t until I started to have a spring clean of my own collection a couple of weeks ago that I realised my at-home beauty-organisation system simply wasn’t working for me. I had boxes, drawers, cupboards and shelves full of products with no rhyme or reason whatsoever. So, seeking inspiration, I reached out to some industry insiders (and some of beauty’s biggest names) to see if they would be happy to share their beauty-storage secrets and give us a sneak peek at the sorts of products they reach for every day. Luckily, they all obliged. Keep scrolling to see what they had to say. “Storing my beauty product is something I’m always trying to figure out. I think the first thing to do

July 05, 2020 at 06:00AM We might only be in the first few weeks of summer, however the weather this week is making me think forward to autumn. The below outfit ideas will see you cooler days over the next few months, and serve you in September and October also. The Amazing High-Street Pieces We Want to Buy This Month
July 05, 2020 at 05:54AM The team at Who What Wear UK prides itself on uncovering cult items before they’ve even made it off the production line. We’re keen, to say the least, and a great portion of our time is spent documenting and analysing the Instagram posts of the thousands of cool women we follow on Instagram for high-street sightings. In fact, we have WhatsApp groups and Slack channels dedicated to these affordably priced power pieces, and we want to update you on them as soon as possible (aka after we’ve bought our faves). Our skills are so attuned that more often than not, we’ll have an inkling about a certain piece before it has hit the big time. Sometimes, you’ll find a flurry of brand-specific action due to a paid activation or natural desire to wear a particular thing or label. But other times, it’ll be a slow and steady accumulation of saved posts that start to make a trend clear to me—especially when a vast array of influencers start favouring the very same items over a longer period of time. Either way, please trust that we’re on it. Right now, there are some beautiful items making a strong bid for inclusion in this gallery. From a timeless Arket shirt to an H&M dress that looks way beyond its high-street price tag, keep reading to see my picks of influencers wearing the latest high-street items. 4 Things Everyone Is Currently Ditching Their Jeans For
July 05, 2020 at 05:03AM Between a pandemic that has kept us at home and the sweltering heat that always accompanies this time of year, there are fewer and fewer reasons to put on a pair of jeans anymore. If you are looking to keep your denim in rotation right now, though, be my guest. But if you’re anything like me, you’ll be itching to discover some summer alternatives. Fashion girls are on the same page here, and I’ve spotted them swapping looser bottoms into their summer outfits, and some rather chic ones at that. Taking the lead are billowy, wide-leg trousers and all manner of shorts from track shorts to knit shorts and even one rather chic new legging trend that will have you rethinking basic leggings. Once you discover these five fresh options, I have a hunch you’ll also be inclined to branch out from your denim stack and into new territory. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even discover a jean alternative that will get more airtime than your beloved jeans ever did. Like it or not, long Bermuda-length shorts are here to stay. The tailored look is a favorite for when you want to look polished without trying too hard, which is why fashion people have been quick to choose them over jeans lately. Remember when all anyone could wear or talk about were jogging bottoms? Well, they haven’t quite stopped; they’ve simply turned their attention to warm-weather friendly shorts. Tailored but slouchy, this trouser silhouette is everywhere right now, and the creamy beige tones many of them come in couldn’t
Makeup Artists Say These 6 Moisturisers Will Age You in Reverse
July 04, 2020 at 05:30PM “Benjamin Buttoning.” Ageing backwards. Stopping time. If there’s one effect or buzzword that elicits the same visceral reaction from beauty editors, skincare experts and customers alike, it’s anything with the term anti-ageing in it. The truth of the matter is this: There’s no miracle cream, gel, serum or treatment that has the power to actually reverse or halt the signs of ageing on the skin. (Sorry, it just doesn’t exist.) That said, there are a small number of products that come pretty close, and we’re about to share an edit of them below. Per a roster of celebrity makeup artists—Emily Cheng, Naoko Scintu and Emma White Turle—we’re uncovering a curated selection of the best anti-ageing moisturisers. The keyword here being curated because according to them, not every cream or moisturiser on the market works the same. Luckily, they find that the below six do wield high-performing effects that plump and lift the skin and combat fine lines and wrinkles. So without further ado, keep scrolling to discover what makes each one so beloved and a few of the other products they recommend building out your routine with as well. Turle introduced this cream to me by saying that it’s considered a scientific masterpiece and that she’s inclined to agree. I was immediately intrigued. “This lifts the skin from the first use,” she explained. “And over a few weeks of use, lines are diminished and skin is brighter. It’s very rich but very light and works beautifully under makeup. The driest and most tired of
I Try Tonnes of Skincare Every Year, But This Is My Desert-Island Product
July 04, 2020 at 12:17PM As a beauty editor, I am often asked what my favourite beauty product is. And quite frankly, that’s like asking a mother to choose her favourite child. The truth is there is simply too much to choose from. For instance, I categorically could not settle on one favourite makeup product. However, if you were to ask me my favourite foundation (Nars Radiant Longwear, £32) or perhaps my favourite mascara (L’Oréal Paris Paradise, £12), I could definitely pull out one name. When it comes to skincare, though, I have always had one clear winner. You see, although it is by no means easy to whittle down my beloved skincare collection to a clear favourite, there is one product that I think everyone could benefit from owning, whatever their skin type. And no, I’m not being paid to say this. When I was first told about the wonders of Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (£52), I vividly remember walking into my local John Lewis and being stunned at the price. There’s no doubt that Advanced Night Repair was the most expensive skincare product I had ever bought, and I couldn’t fathom that one single product could be worth that money. Six years on and now I actually have backups of the stuff in my cupboard. You see, Advanced Night Repair is one of those wonderfully classic beauty products that has become so iconic over time that actually the extent of its wonderfulness has gotten a bit lost. So let me
I Am a Dress Obsessive, and These Are My Favourites for Summer
July 04, 2020 at 11:30AM My wardrobe is approximately 50% colourful printed dresses, and as an editor at Who What Wear, I’m lucky enough to spend a lot of my time indulging this obsession. Out of work, I help my friends to find wedding guest dresses and little-known dress brands and am regularly sending links on WhatsApp as an unofficial personal shopper. As I sit writing this story, I am in a pair of jogging bottoms I have worn for three days and so am well aware of how few of us will be wearing dresses right now. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t looking at them. Within my role as editor, I look at the stories people are reading every day, and the topic that is still the most popular right now is summer dresses. Weddings are a sensitive topic for many right now, as most ceremonies have been pushed back to next year and plans remain uncertain. However, with my 2021 wedding diary filling up rapidly (I currently have eight for next year), I’m using this time to do my research and find dresses I really love. So the edit below includes casual everyday midis you can wear at home and more formal looks that I have my eye on for 2021 and beyond. Keep scrolling to shop my edit of all the summer dresses I love this year. (A warning: It’s a long list and will require a lot of scrolling.) Next up, see our guide to
I Speak to Dermatologists Every Day—These Are the Brands They Always Recommend
July 04, 2020 at 06:30AM The best thing about being a beauty editor is that I get the opportunity to speak with some of the world’s top beauty experts basically every single day. From celebrity makeup artists to Harley Street surgeons, I am forever picking the brains of experts in a bid to learn everything there is to know about beauty. And while picking up different makeup tips and tricks is wonderful, the one thing I am always most fascinated by is the sort of products skin experts swear by. There’s no doubt that shopping for skincare can be daunting and often frustrating, and not just because of the abundance of choice. All too often we are let down by miracle claims that don’t live up to their promises. And while most medical skin experts and dermatologists insist that if you have serious skin concerns, you should always seek expert advice, there are a handful of accessible skincare brands that they wax lyrical about. From super-affordable cleansers and SPFs to clinical-grade serums, there are a number of brands and products that come highly recommended time and again. With expert-approved ingredients, when it comes to the skincare brands that derms love, you better believe you’ll see results. Keep scrolling to discover the brands and products that dermatologists always recommend. French skincare is known for its glowing results, but La Roche-Posay really is in a league of its own. Much like all of the products to follow, its formulas are fuss-free and contain very few what I like to call
