July 04, 2020 at 06:02AM There’s no denying that temperatures have been slow to climb this season, but we’re not going to let a little thing like the weather get us down. In fact, we’re embracing summer with open (blouson-sleeved) arms, particularly where our wardrobes are concerned. But what exactly are we supposed to wear in July when it’s glorious sunshine one minute, then grey skies the next? After trawling through the Instagram accounts of our favourite influencers, we managed to come up with six looks that are ideal for any sort of weather July might throw at us. From the ultimate cool-girl cover-up for chilly evenings to the It dress that’ll serve you on the beach and at the bar, there are plenty of ideas you’ll want to copy immediately. Consider the following your July lookbook… Style Notes: In the UK, you need to be prepared for the weather to turn at any moment, which is why we love the practicality of Claire Most’s outfit here. There’s cardigan option for a sudden drop in temperature, but a crop top underneath for when the sun decides to shine. Style Notes: An oversize maxi dress is as much a summer staple as sunglasses or swimwear. The item is so easy to just throw on, becoming an all in one outfit. Increase the summer vibes with flat sandals and a beach bag, just like Anna Sarlvit has done here. Style Notes: July isn’t all about skirts and dresses. Make like Lucy Williams and

This Parisian Just Showed Me Her Epic Shoe Collection
July 04, 2020 at 06:00AM There is honestly no great mystery as to why some people possess an all-encompassing love for shoes. It’s because even when you’re wearing an outfit that makes you feel a bit ‘meh’, a great pair of shoes can suddenly make it feel perfect. You’re sassy or smart or super polished. But there are a few people who have really curated an impeccable shoe wardrobe. One such person is Ellie Delphine, AKA Slip into Style. The influencer and stylist originally comes from Martinique but is currently living in Paris. I’ve been a follower of her page for over a year and her knack of not just finding the coolest new shoes but knowing how to style them is rarely rivalled—she’d give Carrie Bradshaw a run for her, well, shoes. It’s why, then, I decided to interview her on all things footwear and glean some expert knowledge on how to find the perfect pair of shoes as well as knowing which trends she rates right now. Who What Wear: You have a great eye for shoes–what do you look for when buying shoes? Ellie Delphine: I’m drawn to shoes that go out of the ordinary, shoes you don’t necessarily see everywhere. I love a bold animal print, an interesting detail or a funky heel shape. When buying shoes, I always look at the design first however I’m not willing to sacrifice comfort entirely. So extremely high heels are a no-no for me because I look for shoes I can actually
5 Sandals That Are Trending For Summer 2020
July 04, 2020 at 06:00AM Just because we’re mainly staying inside our houses, balconies or (if we’re lucky) gardens, that doesn’t mean we can’t still spend five minutes looking at shoes. Anything too high or too sparkly is retiring to the back of our wardrobes, for the time being, but sandals (once they are sufficiently worn in, of course) can conveniently double as slippers. We’ve already brought you the sandal trends that are leading this year, but there are five sandal styles, in particular, that I keep spotting on my Instagram feed. One pair is close to our hearts, as Who What Wear has just launched shoes. Our thong sandals in white, snake and black have been particularly popular with our friends. Arizona Love’s Velcro-strap sandals are as cheery as they get thanks to the colourful printed fabrics adorned to the straps. The other two trending sandals are certainly more extravagant. However, Valentino’s rope sandals and Proenza Schouler’s collaboration with Birkenstock are rapidly gaining cult status. Keep scrolling to see the five sandals that are trending in 2020. My Best Friend Has Incredible Skin—This Is the £15 Foundation She Swears By
July 04, 2020 at 05:21AM I’ve known my best friend, Lotte Williams (ASOS Insider and all-around wonderful human), for over 11 years now. That’s 11 years of sharing outfits, gossip and skincare tips. But it wasn’t until recently that I discovered the £15 product that she swears by. From the image below, you can clearly see Lotte has amazing skin. She’s blessed with great genes, but she also struggles with breakouts like the rest of us. However, it’s this one product that she turns to time and time again to give her a dewy, even complexion. The product in question? No7’s Stay Perfect Foundation. When I finally asked Lotte what foundation she used (it only took me over a decade), I wasn’t expecting it to be a No7 product. So what is it about this foundation in particular that Lotte loves? She told me that while she can’t remember how she discovered it, when she went into a shop to be shade-matched, she was pleasantly surprised they had a shade pale enough for her. She went on to tell me that part of the reason she’s so obsessed with it is down to the coverage. It’s not too heavy and still allows her skin to shine through. She uses three pumps daily and blends it into her skin using a Beautyblender. The result? A super-even, fresh finish. Lotte says, “If I had a pound for every time someone had mentioned how great my skin looked and what foundation I use, I’d be
Fashion Girls Think These Are the Ultimate 6 Summer Staples
July 04, 2020 at 05:00AM As we’ve been spending time cleaning out our wardrobesover the last few months, we’ve gone over a smattering of pieces—from basics to jeans—that we’re thinking of getting rid of in favour of other items. Well, today we’re going to focus on the summer items we potentially want to ditch as we head into those warmer-weather months. Below you’ll uncover a range of summer pieces our fashion editors will never remove from their wardrobes given their versatile and inherently chic nature. Alternatively, you’ll also spot a selection of items our team members aren’t as into at the moment. Of course, all of this is based on personal preference—and you should always wear whatever you love, no matter what anyone says. With all that in mind, keep scrolling to check out the items we’re into this summer. And if you’re shopping at the moment, you’ll also find cool summer staples to consider as well. “If you want something comfortable and chic, I’d go with a prairie-style dress, like the ones that Dôen does so well.”— Allyson Payer, senior fashion editor “I used to think summer was all about skirts, but this year, I’m all about a variety of shorts trends—from sweatshorts to athletic-inspired nylon pairs to longer, tailored versions.” — Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour, senior market editor “There was a time when I would wear a lot of camis in the summer with all my shorts and skirts, but now they feel irrelevant as far as basic tops go, and any versions I
18 Fringes That Suit Everyone, According to Hair Experts
July 03, 2020 at 06:30PM Cutting in a fringe can seem like a big commitment, yet it’s a hairstyle most of us have likely at least considered over the years. Fringes come in all types of shapes and cuts, and there are some that can suit everyone, with others being a little harder to pull off, depending on your face shape and how you style your hair. If you’re currently feeling tempted by a fringe, there are certain looks that can suit any of us, regardless of these elements. “A parted sweeping fringe will suit any face shape,” explains Maxine Cooke, a creative stylist at Nicola Clarke at John Frieda salons. “The length just needs to be adjusted to complement the face shape.” Maxine also recommends opting for a side-swept fringe if you want minimum commitment, and Paul Windle, the founder of Windle London, suggests picking a fine long fringe with a couple of sections, getting longer from the centre into the sides. As for which styles can be hardest to pull off, Maxine says micro-fringe requires a lot of commitment. “That being said,” she explains, “when it’s done right on the right person, it’s the most striking and beautifully edgy fringe there is.” And while we do urge that you wait until you can get to salon before you take the plunge, taking inspiration from these 18 chic fringe hairstyles can’t hurt, right? The classic fringe style for a bold, timeless look. Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner tries on a full fringe for style, which was cut
I Think This High Street Store Has the Best Sandals This Summer
July 03, 2020 at 01:58PM For years, Arket has been a brand that customers have learned to depend on for quality items with a minimalist appeal. The brand specialises in those pieces that feel contemporary, yet are refined enough to remain in your closet for years to come. Therefore it comes as relatively no surprise that Arket’s current footwear offering ticks all of those same boxes. With leather finishes and clean lines, Arket’s current sandal range is a minimalist’s dream, complete platform slides, heeled thong sandals and strappy flats. In timeless colourways predominantly including tan, black and beige, the collection can easily blend in with your current wardrobe, becoming the perfect understated outfit addition. In fact, we predict this collection will soon be on the feet of influencers everywhere. Scared of Prints? Here’s the Masterclass on How to Wear Them
July 03, 2020 at 11:30AM When it comes to Instagram, I am a repeat offender. I know what I like and tend to stick to the accounts I love the most. One influencer that I always go back to over and over for fashion inspiration is Nnenna Echem. The stylist and fashion editor first entered my radar a couple of years ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Why? Well, she’s fearless when it comes to trying out new combinations of silhouettes or colours. But where she really shines is her ability to clash prints with bright colours like no one else. I decided to ask her what her best tips are and how she manages to pull it off every time. “When I first started to wear prints I remember that I didn’t like to mix different prints at the same time. But that was because I didn’t have a connection between the different parts of the outfit, so it didn’t look put-together. Today I can wear several prints. If the prints or patterns in your outfit don’t match, then you have to make sure that the colours in your outfit do. When I say match, I mean that the colour combination should match (e.g., pink and lilac, and mint green and sky blue). You can wear a pastel-blue blazer with zebra prints with a pink leo print skirt because the colours go well together.” “The more you experiment with colours and prints, the more you learn and discover new combinations. You should definitely
I Searched the Sales, and These Are the Pieces You Need to See
July 03, 2020 at 06:53AM Unlike the January sales (which all start within a week of each other), the summer sales can be harder to keep track of. Their start dates will be staggered across the months, meaning you have to be more strategic. This month is big for sale shoppers and designer lovers, as MatchesFashion is dropping its prices. And there’s no forgetting the high-street brands, including Arket and Topshop, which have everything from boilersuits to summer dresses. Of course, we’re heading toward those cult buys we’ve spotted all over our Insta feeds so far this year, but we’re also picking the pieces you’ll still want to for many years to come. Yes, we mean Wandler bags and Arket tailoring. To help you navigate the often-confusing summer sale season, we’re alerting you when the big events start and pointing you to the best buys around. 5 Beauty-Obsessed Women on How They Keep Their Skin Looking Youthful
July 03, 2020 at 06:30AM There are few things I love more than talking to people about their beauty routines. I love to find out what cleansers people are using, what serums they swear by and what skincare secrets they have been sat on. Sure, I love hearing from lots of different people with lots of different skin types, but the people I love speaking to the most? Those with mature skin, but undeniably youthful complexions. You see, few things get people talking more passionately than the topic of skin ageing. And sure, we know that a huge amount of ageing is down to genetics, however, we can’t ignore the fact that there are a handful of women who appear to possess some sort of Benjamin Button–style gift. So in a bid to demystify this apparent anti-ageing phenomenon, I spoke to some of those most fresh-faced women in beauty to uncover their secrets. “At the age of 25, I didn’t even know what skincare was. But for the last 12 years or so, I have really been focusing on anti-ageing and glow-giving ingredients. I want to age well and good! Now, I always double cleanse in the morning and evening. I do also go for skin treatments, and I really recommend going to see a skin therapist who will give you a programme to fit your skin. It’s important to never skip your routine—not even when you fall asleep on the sofa after a few glasses of wine! My other top
