May 05, 2020 at 06:06AM This might seem like a really odd statement to be writing on a fashion website, but I have to admit I miss handbags. Like a lot. Since London went into a full lockdown the last week of March, I haven’t used a single one, and while I’m no Kylie Jenner (who has a closet full of Birkins), I do feel like my few treasured accessories deserve a day out. Back in early March—before the world started adhering to the rules of social distancing—the team here at Who What Wear took to the streets in order to trial summer’s most coveted handbag trends. And if, like us, you too are missing your carryall, you are in for a treat. From Shrimps’ beaded iterations to soft fabric styles courtesy of Rejina Pyo and The Row, this season is shaping up to be bold where handbags are concerned. Between mock croc and leopard print, floral patterns and lime-green shades, the bags of summer 2020 are supposed to make a statement. And even with nowhere to go, these small additions can act as the mood-boosting accessories you need to see you through your walk around the park or quick dash to the shops. Of course, when you find something as cute as By Far’s mini shoulder bag, you’ll find any excuse to use it. Handbags may be getting less use than usual, but that does not make them any less lust-worthy. Keep scrolling for nine handbags trends that are sure to put a smile

20 (Actually Cool) Craft Kits to Do This Bank Holiday
May 05, 2020 at 06:00AM At the beginning of this year, if you had told me I would be including a crochet kit and a jigsaw in one of my Who What Wear shopping stories, I wouldn’t have believed you. But not much of 2020 has gone as we all would have predicted back in January. Our editors are still keeping you updated with dress edits and our insights on the trends impacting our wardrobes, of course, but my own personal shopping list has broadened this month, and so I felt like I had to do a more, erm, crafty edit to reflect my own browsing. Instead of looking at shoes and dresses, I’m finding myself eyeing up pasta-making machines and crochet sets. As many are looking for things to do at home other than watch Normal People and make banana bread, there has been a surge in interest for crafts and activities you can quickly pick up at home. So if you want to try and pick up a new hobby, below you’ll find plenty of things to keep you occupied this bank holiday weekend. Partnerships Editions has launched a set of collage kits and has Instagram live sessions each week with its resident artists if you want to try drawing or painting. If you want to keep things more fashion-related, Wool and the Gang does amazing knitted and crochet kits that are even manageable for beginners. 5 Ways To Wear a Tank Top and Still Look Polished
May 05, 2020 Dressing over the course of the last few weeks has had an interesting effect on the way we see our wardrobes, specifically it has highlighted which pieces are the most versatile and hard-working, and which are not. Interestingly, the tank top has emerged as one of the more unlikely heroes of our WFH capsule, and if Instagram is anything to go by, we’re not the only ones who think so. While the power of a well-made basic is hardly breaking news, we’ve particularly enjoyed the streamlined aesthetic of the classic white racer-back tank, which has offered a sporty alternative to the boxy-fit tees that have proliferated over the last few years. This is a top that was made to be tucked into high-waisted trousers, floaty midi skirt and knitted joggers, and even layered under dresses and shirts. In other words, it’s a serious wardrobe workhorse. Casting off its previous low-key associations, in the confines of our homes the tank has been able to take on a more elevated role, and we’ve tried beautifying it with colourful prints, elegant jewellery and even the odd heeled mule. Of course, the idea of fancy-fying their humble vest top might not be appealing to everyone, but if you’re craving comfort with just a hint of polish, keep scrolling to see the fun tank top outfits we’re copying this May. I’ll Be Living In These 8 Staples While I Work From Home
May 04, 2020 at 03:00PM Apologies if you’re seasoned in working from home, but for many of us, the next few weeks and months will probably be about creating a good routine. To me, a big part of this will be finding outfits that do two things: firstly, make us feel comfortable, and secondly, make us feel good. I know that some will roll their eyes at the idea of putting any thought into an outfit that will only be seen by your flatmates and/or the cashier at the corner shop. But in my experience, a good outfit really can have the power to shift our mood. I’m not going to suggest everyone should swan around their living rooms in tulle gowns and heels (although if that’s what keeps you going, then more power to you), but maybe it’s something as small as throwing on a brightly coloured jumper or slipping on a deliciously soft pair of cashmere joggers. It’s these little pick-me-ups that can make all the difference in the long run. Essentially, you gotta do what you gotta do. But if you happen to crave a bit of inspiration in the working-from-home wardrobe department, I’ve created a list of the pieces I’ll be wearing over the coming weeks and months. I’m all about the luxe basics that will feel as comfy as pyjamas but will still help me transition into my work zone. And as buying new isn’t realistic to many of us right now, many of these items are basics that you might already find within your wardrobe. Up next: The 9 Pieces I Need to
This Dress Is At The Top Of Every Who What Wear Editor’s Wish List
May 04, 2020 at 02:30PM It doesn’t happen too regularly, but every so often, an item is released that is so good, practically everyone in our editorial team has it on their wish list. Despite the fact we all have quite different personal styles, aesthetics and even body shapes, every few months there will be an item that is so coveted it transcends all of our differences. For spring/summer 2020, that piece will almost certainly be Ganni’s seersucker maxi dress. Perfectly created in a fun summery gingham, with a ruched bodice and frilled shoulder straps the dress is the embodiment of an effortless summer classic, featuring that inimitable ‘cool’ factor that Ganni does so well. It’s the kind of dress that could have easily been created in the mid-nineties, yet looks entirely modern today and likely will for years to come. In fact, the item is so irresistible, a few members of our team already own it. Not to mention, it’s also been a favourite amongst Who What Wear readers. Last year Ganni released the style in a minimalist beige shade, while this year they have already created it in monochromatic black and white, as well as a decidedly feminine shade of pink. Mark my words, if you’re not already seeing this beauty all over your Instagram feeds, it’s sure to be there in the next few months. Keep scrolling to see and shop the wish-list topping dress. I Tried Over 50 Concealers—These Are the Only Ones I’d Recommend
May 04, 2020 at 02:02PM For me, there’s only one beauty product that I consider truly worthy of desert-island status: concealer. If I woke up one day and my entire beauty stash had disappeared (presumably stolen by a burglar with an eye for premium foundation and eye shadow), then concealer would be the first thing that I’d be rushing out to buy. One of the first beauty products that I remember purchasing as a preteen was everyone’s favourite ‘90s cover-up: Rimmel’s Hide the Blemish Concealer. Who cares if Natural Beige was absolutely not my shade? A little of this smudged across my (then) non-existent dark circles and over the humble beginnings of teenage acne made me feel like one of the cool girls. Disclaimer: I’m not entirely proud of the fact that my favourite makeup product is—as its name suggests—a product created to conceal and cover-up supposed skin imperfections. But hear me out. The concealers of 2019 have genuinely come a long way from the thick, chalky, complexion-covering formulas of my teenage years. These days, a good concealer is as much about brightening the skin as it is about disguising a particularly bad breakout. The best boast skin-like finishes that let your moles and freckles shine through but can be layered up if a little extra coverage will help you feel your best. And if I’m honest, as someone who’s been tackling acne since her teenage years, there are some days when I just want my skin to look like as blank a canvas

May 04, 2020 at 06:20AM These are strange times, and fashion, of course, must take a backseat to the more important news that is going on in the world. But there is a different role that looking at pretty pictures provides: momentary escapism and distraction. Right now, that is what we at Who What Wear can excel at—a means to momentarily take your mind off the 24/7 news cycle. Today we should have been waking up to hundreds of red carpet pictures from the Met Gala. And so mark the first Monday in May, we’ve delved into the archives to bring you some of the most iconic Met Gala outfits ever. The yearly event is notorious for giving us the most interesting and outrageous red carpet looks. 13 Pieces Destined for Cult Status This Summer
May 04, 2020 at 06:02AM We all know the feeling when you set your heart on a particular piece and find it’s sold out when you finally get around to buying it. This happened to me last summer with a number of items I’d earmarked to invest in for a late holiday. To be honest, I take full responsibility. I’m not a forward thinker when it comes to shopping, and historically, my pre-holiday or –event routine usually ends up being a mad dash around Westfield or a same-day Net-a-Porter order. Surprisingly, this doesn’t often come up with very fruitful results. This year, although summer is set to look a little different, I have vowed to change my approach and invest in fewer pieces I really love ahead of time. I’m still thinking about how Arizona Love’s bandana sandals could make my current summer wardrobe so much better, so they’ll be top of the list since they’ve just been restocked (a sure-fire sign they’ll be everywhere again this summer). New additions that we have already seen creeping into our Instagram feeds include Faithfull’s array of printed dresses (I’ll take any and all of it), and the Who What Wear collection thong sandals, which, trust us, are flying off the shelves already. Yes, it’s early, as spring sunshine has only really started to set in, but however, it may feel, summer is coming—we promise. And when it does, we want you to be ready. It’s our job as editors at Who What Wear to predict what styles and trends are going to be big for the
I’m a Picky Zara Shopper, and This Is What I’d Buy There for Spring
May 04, 2020 at 05:10AM You’re probably wondering what being a picky Zara shopper even means, so I’ll explain. While I love Zara as much as the next girl, when I shop there, I do my best to use as discerning an eye as I would have if everything there were super expensive. In other words, not just buying anything I see because it’s affordable or at the very least more affordable than a lot of other brands out there. Not a bad approach, right? And since it’s recently dropped a ton of items for spring and the season is technically still in full swing despite current events, I figured I would share what I’d be buying from Zara were I in the market for a new seasonal wardrobe. Somehow, despite my pickiness, I still ended up with a whopping 40 picks, so to see everything that made the cut, just keep scrolling—and be sure not to quit before you get to the shoe section! Pair with the matching orange dress if you fancy. Loving these boning-inspired details. A cinched waistline always helps. If I can look this cool too, I’m in. The perfect little top to wear under jackets and blazers. Had to throw a little tie-dye into the mix. Big collar energy. Eighteenth century but make it 2020. Ready or not, this trend is here. Still loving this leggings trend. This skirt is undeniably fun. Long leather shorts: Everyone is wearing them. I’m very intrigued by this colour and the way it’s styled.
