I Tried Blue-Light Glasses for a Week to See If They Work—Here’s the Truth

April 24, 2020 at 06:00AM I cannot even remember a life before screens. Can you? In today’s world, we’re not just on one screen at a time but often multitasking on multiple screens. Or should I say, multi-screening? One minute, you’re on your laptop while watching TV, the next furiously catching up on group texts and an occasional Instagram-scroll “break.” What do our poor eyes even look at anymore that’s not a screen? We spend nearly half of our waking hours (42%) on screens (almost seven hours a day), according to a survey done by contact lens manufacturer Cooper Vision. For the past few years, I’ve been operating on the lowest light on my Macbook and iPhone, in addition to dark mode on all devices and night mode (orange light) starting at 8 p.m. I am talking about two to three bars on the brightness scale. For any normal person, that is basically pitch black (just ask any of my co-workers when I’m trying to show them something on my screen), but for me, it was a relief for my sensitive eyes to no longer be constantly staring at a brightly lit screen. With blue light–blocking lenses emerging as a trend in recent years, I embarked on a journey to test out a pair. Do these really work? Do they relieve you from any eye strain? Find out below. Let’s start off with facts and basics. Any screen such as laptops, cell phones, TVs, and tablets emit blue light via white light. (The sun releases white light at the highest degree.)

This Bikini Trend Is Suddenly Dying

April 24, 2020 at 06:00AM We’ve already highlighted the coolest new swim trends for this year and the swimsuits that are out, and ahead I’m breaking down the styles A-listers are getting behind—aka the most popular celebrity bikini trends this year—and the one trend that celebs are notably skipping. Looking to celeb beach outfits, barely-there bikinis are being embraced in a huge way. String bikinis and triangle tops are being endorsed by celebs like Bella Hadid and the always photogenic J. Lo. On the other end of the spectrum, we’re seeing celebs like Kylie Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski wearing inventive one-pieces that range from belted swimsuits to styles with cutouts. The one style we’re not seeing celebrities wear right now? High-waisted bikinis. The silhouette has been hugely popular in the last few years, but now celebrities seem to be shying away from the style. Go on to see the swimsuits the celebrity bikini and one-piece trends they’re wearing instead that are already huge and shop pieces to get their looks. Instead of high-waisted bikinis, celebrities are gravitating toward low-cut styles. We’re seeing a huge uptick in string bikinis and silhouettes that have an early ’00s feel. J. Lo can do no wrong and posted a photo wearing a pink bikini on her Instagram. Shop the matching Brigitte Bikini Bottoms ($112) String bikinis will never go out of style. Shop the matching String Bikini Bottoms ($75) Hailey Beiber is giving electric shades her stamp of approval. Shop the matching Jay Bikini Bottoms ($88) Ashley Graham’s striped bikini

We’ve Found Summer’s Answer to Comfy Joggers

April 24, 2020 at 06:00AM No items divide people quite like shorts, as many people have the item on their ultimate no-no list and prefer to wear skirts and dresses in summer. I myself am not really a shorts person. I have always struggled to find the right length and only tend to wear them on holiday. Fashion buyers have been anticipating that shorts are going to become more popular this season thanks to the prominence of Bermuda shorts on the runways. However, with the unprecedented shifts to our lifestyles, there is a new demand for a different kind of shorts—runners in tracksuit fabrics. For when it gets too hot to wear loungewear, one of the most comfortable items you can wear for summer at home is a pair of shorts in either linen, sweatshirt or jersey fabrics. If you want a pair of basic shorts to act in place of jogging bottoms, I’d recommend you head to Weekday or Topshop. For something a little jazzier, I’m quite taken with Ganni’s leopard and floral prints.  Keep scrolling to see how to style these throw-on shorts and our edit of favourites below. These are proving popular already.  If lemon isn’t for you, they come in lots more colours.  Arket’s linen is really beautiful.  Trust Ganni to make the jazziest shorts going.  Pair with a sweatshirt for a summery spin on loungewear. The longer length will appeal to many.  A smarter take on sporty shorts.  Weekday is another favourite for casual shorts.  Tie-dye is so popular

6 Jewelry Trends Every Fashion Insider Will Wear in 2020

April 24, 2020 at 06:00AM Ready for a brand-new set of jewelry trends to work into your wardrobe? Same. The S/S 20 shows have come to a close, but I can’t stop thinking about the new jewelry pieces that were styled on the runways. Many of them are destined to be huge this year, and there are some major trends that will be bubbling up during 2020. From the new take on hoop earrings spotted at Proenza Schouler and Versace to the metal Brandon Maxwell and Gucci embraced that is set to be everywhere to the statement necklace trend we saw at Bottega Veneta and Chanel, these are the six biggest spring jewelry trends, period. Want to be an early adopter? Go on to see and shop our edit of pieces to start wearing right now. Hoops aren’t a new trend, but for spring they have been supersized. The new XXL proportions were paired with everything from power suiting to LBDs and are intended to go with just about anything. Statement-jewelry lovers, here’s another one for you. Chain-link necklaces were also spotted on the runways in pumped-up sizes, whether paired with open-front silhouettes or layered over crew-necks. We’ve been predicting the rise of silver jewelry, and the runways are providing even more evidence that the metal will be gaining traction in the coming months. Instead of matching earrings, designers sent models down the runways with just one. At Prabal Gurung and JW Anderson, we saw crystal styles that cascaded past the shoulder, and at Valentino, there were ornate gold versions. Pearls have been a popular trend for several

I’m Obsessed With These 5 Revolve Brands—Here’s What I’m Buying From Each

April 24, 2020 at 06:00AM Revolve is a one-stop shop for most fashion lovers of the world, but if you don’t know what you’re doing or what you’re looking for, it can be quite overwhelming. That’s where I come in. As someone who has been shopping at (and working with) Revolve for quite some time, I can confidently say I know a thing or two about the best ways to navigate the plethora of products available. My biggest strategy? Shop by brand, not by category. Yes, Revolve stocks some of the biggest name brands in the industry, but it’s the in-house brands that I am drawn to the most when I head to the site. Ahead, I’m going to highlight five of the best Revolve brands (in my humble opinion), shop out the pieces I’m eyeing from each, and explain what it is I love so much about them. Whether you head to Revolve for party pieces, cute summer dresses, or statement trousers, the selection of goods ahead will have your online shopping carts fuller than they’ve been in a while. L’Academie has everything from the trends you’re looking for to the wardrobe staples you’ve been looking to invest in. In my opinion, it’s the most “grown-up” of all the in-house Revolve brands, and this green suit ahead proves exactly that.  Majorelle is a special one to me, as the founder, Rachel Zeilic, is also a member of our Who What Wear team. The pieces are dreamy, easy to wear,

I Haven’t Worn a Bra in Years—Here’s What I Wear Instead

April 24, 2020 at 06:00AM When I turned 13 (and finally started to go through puberty), all I wanted was to start wearing a bra. By the time I was 14, all I wanted was to stop wearing a bra. I had quickly learned what most of us already know—that bras are typically uncomfortable, rigid, and cut into your under-boob area. The most relieving part of my day was when I finally got home and could peel off my bra. So I soon decided to stop wearing bras altogether. That brought challenges, however, as I wasn’t yet entirely comfortable with the idea of going braless. So I decided to dip my toes in the water by rotating through several bra alternatives—all of which were certainly more comfortable than my go-to underwire bra. If you, too, want to forgo bras without totally abandoning the support and shape they offer, keep scrolling to find some excellent bra alternatives that have kept my ladies (and me) happy throughout the years. This is just as comfortable as wearing a thin shirt, but the secret is that you’re wearing a shirt under a shirt, thereby keeping your breasts supported and cradled in a comfortable, stretchy, wire-free material. In the late ’00s, I’d wear a bandeau over my bra in some sort of peculiar fashion statement of the time—I’m pretty certain we all went through that phase in middle school. These days, however, I’ve dropped the bra and just wear the bandeau any time going strapless is appropriate.

Trust Me—You’ll Never Want to Take Off Any of These 25 Bras

April 24, 2020 at 05:52AM Everyone knows that feeling of coming home: The first thing you want to do is free yourself from that constricting bra. Well, I can happily report those days are over thanks to the rise of the lounge bra. It’s the perfect solution for those who want desirable lingerie while feeling comfy all day long. Say goodbye to pinch marks and that digging-in feeling, and hello to super-soft comfort. To ensure we’re recommending the best of the best, we’ve made a selection of the highest-rated and most popular lounge bras, from sporty styles to satin and lacy numbers. Scroll down for the best loungewear bras, and in the meantime, if you’re also looking to update the number of lingerie sets in your intimates drawer, we recommend you read this. They had us at “butter”. Love this bright yellow moment.  This post originally appeared on Who What Wear UK.  A little lace makes everything prettier. Trust the epic reviews. This looks so smooth under even the tightest of tees. Everyone’s favorite bra brand strikes again. This one is made to last. When two of our favorite brands collide. This popular style also comes in black. An affordable option with a cult following. This style would also look great worn under a denim jacket. Plus it has the best ratings.  Love a little lace trim. This is stunning (and on sale). Low on frills, high on comfort. FYI: This is Kim Kardashian’s lingerie brand. Obsessed with this color. Underwire bras can

8 “Boring” Basics You’ll Want to Hold on to Forever

April 24, 2020 at 05:10AM While boring style tends to get a bad rap, when it comes to basics, I actually feel that boring is better. Not only do simple pieces tend to pair well with more things and have the ability to work harder for your wardrobe, but they’re also inherently classic and thus better long-term investments. So while you might not want to dress boring, shopping as such can actually be a good idea. Keeping this little lesson in mind, today I decided to round up the “boring” basics you’ll want to hold on to forever. In other words, if you’re cleaning out your closet (as we’ve been doing a lot of recently), unless there’s irreparable damage to these items or they don’t fit, you probably don’t want to add them to your toss pile. To see, read about, and (of course) shop all eight of the categories that made the cut, just keep scrolling.  Not only is the button-down a timeless staple, but it’s also one you can use in every season. Wear one alone, layered under something, or open as a light jacket. Either way, you’ll want to use (and hold on to) them forever. As the recent resurgence of all things suiting has shown us, a good pair of trousers will always have a place in your wardrobe.  Basic leather slides are a spring and summer staple that, design-wise, don’t change often. Odds are that if you invest in a simple pair, you’ll want to wear
