As the days get longer and blue skies become a more common occurrence, I can’t help but think of the warm days ahead and start planning outfits for when they do arrive. Sure, it’s not quite summer just yet, but it seems high time for an at-home DIY pedicure, particularly as the high street is already packed with covetable slides, sandals and summery footwear. So let’s talk trends. Despite their jarring name, thong sandals are set to be prominent this summer, having already garnered a fan base of influencers and editors, while last year’s barely there, strappy sandals—made popular by The Row—are back for another season. Let me tell you it is a thrill. There’s just something so satisfying about finding a piece in a vintage store or on the high street that looks much more expensive than its price tag would suggest. And it’s even more satisfying when you can tell people just how affordable the item actually was. With this in mind, I set out to find a few expensive-looking high-street items under £30 that could act as the subject of my next humble brag, and right now there are certainly some winners around. H&M in particular currently has a very elevated offering, featuring a billowy wrap top and a few puff-sleeve minidresses that could pass as designer. Mango has some very affordable linen pieces, while Zara, as usual, has the affordable trend-led category covered. When it comes to obtaining an expensive-looking high-street item, my tip would be to go for a timeless style. 7 Sandal Trends That We Love for 2020

Call it a response to the climate crisis or the fact that people don’t want to overhaul their wardrobes every six (or even three) months, but on the S/S 20 runways, we saw plenty of coats and items normally reserved for cooler weather. In response to this, Who What Wear’s editor Emma Spedding commented that “throwaway trends are becoming increasingly passé, and we are all looking for clothes that will have a lasting impact.” So where does that leave us with sandal trends for this year, I hear you ask? Well, instead of a dramatic change from the previous year, we’re seeing a continuation of trends that worked for us throughout the whole of spring and summer 2019. Yes, we’re talking “dad” sandals, strappy heels and minimalist footwear. However, if you’re champing at the bit for newness, then there are other trends that might fill that hole. May 08, 2020 at 06:00AM Topshop once revealed that it sells one pair of jeans every 10 seconds. Most of us will have owned a pair of the Jamie jeans at one point or another and probably tried on the spray-on skinny Jonis, but there are currently 547 results for jeans on the Topshop website. Earlier this year, the brand launched the four new shapes it’s championing for 2020, which are quite handily named One, Two, Three and Four. Denim shopping is something many of us put off for as long as we possibly can (and, considering the current situation, is something we won’t be doing for a while), but back in February, I went into the Topshop changing rooms with the four new styles to give them a test run. What I was most impressed by during my try-on was the consistency of the sizing. Often, with jeans, I’ll have to try lots of different waist sizes, but I tried a 28-inch waist and 32-inch leg in every pair and found no discrepancies. The duchess called in to This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in order to discuss her new initiative Hold Still, which invites the people of the UK to create portraits of the extraordinary times we are currently living in. For her rare television appearance, the duchess opted to wear a sunny shade of yellow in the form of a long-sleeve dress by British brand Raey. The brand—which was founded by Rachael Proud, a designer who started her career at Topshop before moving on to Christopher Kane—is known for its clean, minimalist styles and crisp tailoring. While we love to see the duchess championing homegrown British brands, unfortunately, this Raey style is already sold out, as it was actually released a few summers ago. Very popular amongst the fashion set, the exact style was even worn by Monikh in the summer of 2018. Out of work, I help my friends to find wedding guest dresses and little-known dress brands, and am regularly sending links on Whatsapp as an unofficial personal shopper. I am sat writing this story in a pair of jogging bottoms I have worn for three days, and so am well aware of how few of us will be wearing dresses right now.
