April 28, 2020 at 12:27PM As a beauty editor, I am often asked about the areas in which we should save (and splurge) when it comes to our beauty routines. Personally, I think spending a little more on a great moisturiser or serum with efficacious active ingredients, if your finances allow for it of course, is a wise beauty choice. However, when it comes to makeup, the areas in which you can save a few pennies and still get high-end results are much greater. The most obvious? Mascara. If you ask me, some of the greatest mascara formulas out there are from affordable brands. When it comes to mascara, not only do you not need to spend big to get results, but so many of the expensive formulas leave you questioning what you’re paying for. In fact, I have tried many £30+ mascaras that do little for my lashes at all and leave me with panda eyes at the end of the day. My absolute go-to that guarantees long-lasting, lengthened, voluminous lashes every single time? L’Oréal Paris Paradise Volumising Mascara (£12). When I first heard about the wonders of this mascara a few years ago, it wasn’t available in the UK. Over in the US, however, it had firmly established itself as a cult bestseller. With celebrity makeup artists like Sir John (he’s Beyoncé’s go-to) and Kristofer Buckle (the man behind Blake Lively’s flawless makeup) being big fans of the formula, Paradise Mascara has been cited as one of Hollywood’s favourite makeup products for

4 Simple Tricks to Elevate Your At-Home Attire
April 28, 2020 at 11:49AM With many of us currently spending a lot more time at home than we usually would, it can be all too easy to fall into the habit of not fully getting dressed in the morning. From living in leggings to avoiding real footwear, home life usually revolves around simply wearing whatever is the most comfortable. I for one, accidentally left the house to go to the supermarket in my slippers, so that gives you an indication as to how comfortable I am right now. However, just because you might be spending time at home doesn’t mean you should stop putting on the outfits that make you feel your best. Whether you choose to add a bold colourful jumper to your legging look or style your favourite hair accessory with your trackies, often, simple additions can work to elevate not only your look but also impact how you feel too. In our very connected world, inspiration is everywhere and with everyone from celebrities to influencers and editors posting their at-home looks, it is suffice to say that just about anything goes. Essentially, your at-home attire should be an outfit that makes you feel good, whether that’s your gym kit or a pretty dress. Keep scrolling for four tips to elevate your at-home attire. Style Notes: Now, I’m not exactly saying you should wear a floor-length gown around your living room (though Monikh does look incredibly chic), but throwing on one of your tried-and-tested favourites items is an instant
The Women of Wildling Have Changed Our Skincare Routines For Life
April 28, 2020 at 11:02AM First, there was the jade roller. We got hooked on the quick lifting and depuffing results of the low-tech skincare tool years ago after our facialist here in LA turned us on to them. Since then, tools like jade rollers have reached peak popularity and we’ve explored skincare tools of every shape and size. Our favorite of them all has become Wildling’s gua sha tool — a flat, black, unassuming stone we now don’t know how we’d live without. Over the past few months, we’ve shared tutorials galore with Wildling’s three female founders unpacking ways to use the gua sha to utterly transform our faces (this one is my fave). Above, you’ll find Wildling co-founder, Gianna walking us through a therapeutic skincare routine for anxiety. Sit yourself down, strip down, and oil up your neck and face. This is just the kind of ritual that blends beauty with wellness so that, soon, you may not be able to tell the two apart. Lasting beauty comes from taking mindful and holistic care of ourselves every day. Here’s how… A Gua Sha Ritual for Toning + De-Stressing Instructions: 1. Apply Empress Tonic & Oil 2. Begin by using the Empress Wand to relieve tension in the neck, shoulders and jaw. The pressure is firm to release these muscles. These moves release the large muscle groups to help you feel better and increase the flow of blood & qi to the head. 3. Use the comb edge of the gua

April 28, 2020 at 11:13AM Sharing 25 bodyweight workouts you can do at home! All you need is a pair of comfortable sneakers, some space on a yoga mat or rug, and a bottle of water. Hi friends! I’m writing this blog post to you with paint-crusted fingers (attractive). We’re almost finished painting the cabinets and should have everything put together by tomorrow. I’m so excited! It’s going to feel so much brighter in the kitchen and when we finish, it will give me a chance to catch up on everything else I’ve neglected during this epic painting party. (The laundry situation is getting rough.) Even though we’ve been alternating helping out the kids and painting, I’ve still been able to catch some solid workouts. It’s been fun to break out some barre workouts with our Barre Bootcamp group and also hop on the Peloton or enjoy a yoga flow (I filmed one to share with you guys!) For today’s post, I wanted to re-share 25 of my favorite bodyweight workouts you can do anywhere. I know many of us are stuck at home right now and it can be tricky to sort through all of the options that are available. Eggplant Parmesan Quinoa Casserole
April 28, 2020 at 10:00AM Get the best of eggplant parmesan in this meal-in-one, easy clean-up version of eggplant parmesan quinoa casserole. No need to precook your quinoa – just mix your ingredients and make for a delicious, easy dinner recipe. One of my favorite meals has always been eggplant parmesan. Don’t get me wrong, I pretty much love everything with cheese but there’s something about the heartiness of eggplant parmesan that makes it my ultimate comfort food. But here’s the thing, while I may love eggplant parmesan, I absolutely hate making it. SO MANY DISHES. Between breading the eggplant, frying it and then baking it – not to mention making the pasta- it’s all just a little too much work for me to make on a regular basis. If you’ve been a longtime reader of The Healthy Maven then you know how much I love a good casserole. One pan and BAM you’ve got a meal in one. This is especially true of quinoa casseroles which despite common belief, you do not have to precook your quinoa. It’s all about getting your ratios right and since I’m a lazy but picky cook I’ve managed to get those ratios right just for you. I also […] The post Eggplant Parmesan Quinoa Casserole appeared first on The Healthy Maven. Continue Reading… Author Davida Lederle | Thehealthymaven Selected by CWC

10 British Brands We Are Championing This Year—and Beyond
April 28, 2020 at 06:12AM Given that so much has changed across the world over the last two months, here at Who What Wear we decided to ask our readers what they wanted to see more of in this ever-evolving climate. From stories on loungewear to work from home outfit ideas, our readers responded with varying answers about what still feels relevant to them today and of course, we have tried to deliver on each and every request. Though throughout all the emails and comments we received one thing was clear, people are yearning to know more about how to support British-designed brands. Several readers wrote in and explained they’d like us to highlight a few more UK-based brands, so today we’re doing just that. From Ghost, to Kitri, Rixo and Shrimps, the UK is home to a wealth of talent, particularly when it comes to contemporary labels with their own unique flair. Each of the brands listed below has an instantly recognizable aesthetic to cater to their individual customer. So whether you know them all, or you’re reading about them for the first time today, here are 10 British brands we think deserve your attention. Founded by Haeni Kim in 2017, Kitri has experienced so much success in its few short years. Loved by influencers and editors, the brand offers floaty feminine dresses and distinctive smile-inducing prints you’ll want to wear time and again. After graduating from Central Saint Martins and gaining experience at Roksanda, Rejina Pyo launched her eponymous label
Why Your Lingerie Drawer Needs a Winter-to-Summer Changeover, Too
April 28, 2020 at 06:00AM I didn’t mean to become the unofficial lingerie correspondent for Who What Wear, but somehow I seem to write about boobs a lot. It’s not that I don’t love underwear, I do, just as much as the next person, but it’s more to do with how much my own lingerie needs have changed over the years, specifically when it comes to bras. From wedding prep to being a runner, as well as pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post-pregnancy, my bra size has run the gamut. Not only have I spent a lot of time trying various bras on, but I’ve also spent a lot of time chatting with the experts on what makes a great bit of lingerie. Today, I’m turning my attention to summer lingerie. Yep, it’s a thing. I mean, of course, it is. Come summer, you’ll end up wearing less clothing and items that are made of less material. Gone are longer sleeves, and in their place will be strappy slip dresses, sleeveless tops, and perhaps a backless blouse. This means that you’re likely to need underwear that works for this seasonal shift in your wardrobe. While I might have some expertise in finding new bras for your shape, I always speak to experts when it comes to understanding trends and what to look out for. I spoke to Georgia Larsen, the founder of one of my favourite British lingerie brands, Dora Larsen. The label specialises in cool brightly coloured (but importantly, not garish) pieces. And as it consistently nails
4 Lessons I’ve Learned About Skincare Since Moving to Paris
April 28, 2020 at 06:00AM Every month, Londoner turned Parisienne Marissa Cox of Rue Rodier will bring you her pearls of Parisian fashion wisdom and beauty tips straight from the French capital. A writer, photographer and influencer, we turn to the oh-so-chic Marissa on a regular basis for a truly unique take on her adopted country’s signature style. Whether we’re looking to her décor decisions, handbag purchases or chic hotel choices, we can all agree that looking un petit peu plus Français could never be a bad thing… One thing I’ve been more exposed to more since moving to Paris seven years ago, besides good wine, baguettes and French men, is great skincare and overall more respect for it. I’ve always looked after my skin, but that’s because my mother instilled in me the importance of a good beauty routine from a young age and my knowledge came from her. But I’ve generally found that growing up and then entering the workforce in the UK, unless one works in an industry that has more emphasis on appearance, or has a mother that had you cleansing, toning and moisturizing early on (I even had the three step Clinique products as a young teen), this hasn’t been the norm compared with others side of the channel. It’s usually been me advising my British friends on what to use and buy, or looking at their face and telling them that they should probably be wearing an eye cream. In France, I discovered that
