Getting Rid of Sharp Waste Disposals
April 24, 2020 at 12:23PM Sharp devices are objects that have corners, sharp edges that can cut or pierce one’s skin. Most countries usually have their laws that control the discarding of sharps waste to protect the disposers from any physical, dangerous, or contagious menaces. The sharp objects include hypodermic needles, musicians, syringes, blades, and even blunted needles. Sharp disposals […] The post Getting Rid of Sharp Waste Disposals appeared first on SafeandHealthylife. Continue Reading… Author Safe and Healthy Life Expert | Safeandhealthy Selected by CWC

What You Don’t Know About Conventional Cotton Farms Might Shock You
April 24, 2020 at 10:55AM we’ve learned a lot about conventional cotton farming over the years here at TCM. Most notably, through the fast fashion doc, The True Cost where we first learned about the reported connection between American cotton farmers, cotton pesticides and the high incidence of a very serious cancer. When we interviewed Missy Tannen, founder of ethical home goods brand, Boll & Branch, we were equally as shocked to learn about the many Indian cotton farmers who carry dangerous chemical pesticides on their backs while farming cotton. We were first drawn to Tannen’s sustainable and luxurious sheets and towels in a light-hearted way, just hoping to dress our beds and stock our linen closet with great non-toxic basics. But after our interview with Missy, we’re reminded of just how deep the impact of sustainable shopping can be. By shopping responsible and sustainable brands, we are not only shaping our economy for the better, we are having a direct impact on the lives of those creating the products we fill our homes with. Read Missy’s interview to learn more… I am relentless in creating the best bedding that is humanly possible. I realize that our customers are choosing to spend their time and money with us, and I wouldn’t want to ever let them down. And now that we are in our sixth year of business, and thousands of people across the world are making our products, I want to do everything I possibly can to continue providing them with fair wages, safe

Avoid These Ingredients in Your Makeup Products
April 24, 2020 at 10:00AM So many of you have reached out recently about wanting to switch to cleaner makeup products without any idea of where to begin. I’ve given countless suggestions over the years and have listed many of them in the green beauty shop but what about the makeup products you already have? Is it time to toss them? What are the toxic ingredients in makeup? I thought it was due time I sit down and list this all out for you so you can feel empowered to make these decisions for yourself. While I may advocate for cleaner beauty I acknowledge that everyone is on their own journey, with different priorities and levels of accessibility. That’s okay. If switching to natural makeup products isn’t for you, I totally get it! Bookmark this post and come back to it if you want to. If you’re ready to switch to cleaner makeup, I’m outlining the toxic ingredients in makeup products and some important information about non-toxic makeup products. Let’s get into it. What is Non-Toxic Makeup? Before we begin, let’s talk about “non-toxic” makeup. Honestly I hate the term but for ease of use I’ll be using it interchangeably with “clean beauty” today. It […] The post Avoid These Ingredients in Your Makeup Products appeared first on The Healthy Maven. Continue Reading… Author Davida Lederle | Thehealthymaven Selected by CWC
Confession: I’m a Skin Picker But Swear By These Acne-Scar Treatments
April 24, 2020 at 08:00AM Like any other night, I go to the bathroom and begin my skincare routine. Next thing I know, I’m leaning over the sink with my face up against the mirror, picking and prodding my face, not realizing that 30 minutes have passed. As soon as I break my trance-like state and see my red, splotchy skin, the shame sets in. Because the thing is, my skin is generally good. I mean, I get a few blemishes around my period, when I eat poorly, or if I’m stressed (and 2020 has been stressful, people!), but I’m the one who makes matters worse by squeezing the tiny bumps that no one can see, turning them into big red marks that can last for weeks to months and are always worse than the damn blemish itself. “Picking at acne scabs will make them worse and delay healing,” says Michele Farber, MD, of Schweiger Dermatology Group in NYC. “It results in a cyclical process that causes progression of marks or scars.” Now, I know there’s no magic wand that can fix a scar or spot overnight, but there are a few things you can do immediately after a skin-picking episode: “I recommend that patients very gently clean their skin to remove any surface bacteria and decrease the chance of infection and then apply a very small amount of hydrocortisone cream followed by a layer of a petroleum ointment such as Aquaphor or Vaseline,” explains Rachel Nazarian, MD, FAAD, at

6 Styling Tricks That Feel Really New for Spring
April 24, 2020 at 06:33AM From Paris to Milan, New York to London, each season, designers use the ready-to-wear runway shows as a means to display the new clothing and accessories that their brands have to offer. And although we revel in the chance to view the new collections, here at Who What Wear UK, we take fashion week as an opportunity to observe more than just new clothes. Each season, runway shows provide a myriad of styling and outfit inspiration, as brands find unique and distinctive ways to display their debuting items. Whether it be styling a cardigan as a base layer or a silk scarf as a statement belt, each runway show often brings with it an interesting new way to style a piece of clothing that we’ve never thought of before. Of course, the S/S 20 runway shows were no exception. From Louis Vuitton pairing a sweater vest over an exaggerated puff sleeve shirt to Khaite’s styling of straight-leg jeans underneath a minidress, the ready-to-wear collections provided a plethora of outfit ideas that we can’t wait to try. And the best part? Many of the styling tricks seen on the runway can be re-created using the staples you already have in your wardrobe. If you own a roll-neck jumper and a button-up shirt, you can easily emulate the styling from Victoria Beckham’s show, while a cropped cardi and waist belt can let you live out your dream of being a Chanel model. It really is that simple. Keep scrolling for all the styling tricks we’re
