April 23, 2020 at 05:00AM Skincare is something I’ve been obsessing over since high school. I had problem skin when I was younger, so I spent countless hours testing different doctor-prescribed treatments as well as finds from beauty counters and drugstores. Once I was finally able to achieve clear skin, I worked hard to keep it that way, and in my adult life, I’ve found a skin regimen that works for me, but I’m always on the hunt for new products vetted by industry experts to try out myself. Curious to find out which products beauty editors swear by for glowing skin, I asked some to tell me about the super-hydrating ones they love. Here, they’re sharing their top-shelf favorites, from collagen-packed sheet masks and plumping serums to an antioxidant-packed serum that’s “magic in a bottle.” Ahead, see their picks and some personal favorites that are always stocked in my medicine cabinet. The name says it all. This truly is a hydration booster. Packed with hyaluronic acid—an ingredient that can penetrate beneath your skin’s surface—it’s a scientifically proven hydrator. I love wearing this all over my face as a serum for instantly dewy skin. And at just $20, it is one of my all-time favorite affordable beauty finds. This gel-based face moisturizer from 3Lab is an investment buy, but it’s a product line I’ve been using for years that I really trust. While I’ve tested a number of buzzy moisturizers, I always return to this magic product for super-hydrated, glowing skin. I’ve been

Celebrities Are Getting In On The Quarantine #PillowChallenge
April 23, 2020 at 09:00PM We’re into week six of social distancing, and the internet is showing no signs of fatigue when it comes to creativity. TikTok is bursting with videos, Tiger King memes are still coming in thick and fast, and now, style inspiration is coming from the last place we would have expected: pillows. Yep, you read that right. One of the newest trends to sweep the ‘gram is the #QuarantinePillowChallenge which sees fashionistas style their pillows as dresses secured in place with a belt and then accessorized. It really brings a whole new meaning to loungewear. Increasingly, celebrities are getting in on the action, too. Hilariously, Anne Hathaway channeled her iconic Princess Diaries character Mia as she shared an image of herself doing the challenge overnight. Noting her lateness to the game, the actress wrote, “A Queen is never late, everyone else is simply early.” See some of the best looks we’ve seen from the #QuarantinePillowChallenge so far below: View this post on Instagram “A Queen is never late; everyone else is simply early.” ? #pillowchallenge A post shared by Anne Hathaway (@annehathaway) on Apr 22, 2020 at 7:52am PDT //www.instagram.com/embed.js View this post on Instagram Am I too late? #pillowchallenge A post shared by Tracee Ellis Ross (@traceeellisross) on Apr 20, 2020 at 4:05pm PDT //www.instagram.com/embed.js View this post on Instagram You already KNOW you couldn’t keep me from the #PillowChallenge ? Toronto-Based Fashion Brands Team Up For COVID-19 Relief Initiative
April 23, 2020 at 08:00PM If you’re looking for another reason to shop local at this time, a cohort of some of Canada’s most well-loved labels is giving you just that. From today, an impressive line-up of Canadian fashion brands are coming together to help raise money for the University Health Network which will then distribute the funds to support frontline workers. Organized by Andrews and Kate Middleton-approved brand Smythe, the program – called #TorontoFashionUnited – begins today and runs until April 26. The program features around 20 designers from Toronto including Alfred Sung, Augustina, Carole Tannenbaum Vintage, Jenny Bird, FORTNIGHT, Pink Tartan, Suetables (whose designs have been worn by Meghan Markle), Ela Handbags and more. 10 per cent of all sales made by the brands over the next three days will be donated to the initiative. “We are in unprecedented times and wanted to rally Toronto fashion businesses, as a collective, to do our part and give back to the brave frontline workers taking care of our community,” Darren Mason, the owner of Andrews said in a release. Louise Aspin, the senior vice president and chief development officer at the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, added, “Shoppers can feel good knowing their support will help accelerate the pace of what is possible, both in supporting frontline staff at our hospitals and critical research that can put an end to this pandemic.” For the full list of participants, click here. The £26 Jogging Bottoms That Look Oh-So Premium
April 23, 2020 at 12:15PM There’s likely never been a more appropriate time to invest in loungewear. From days spent on the couch to waist-up dressing for those morning work calls, living in leggings, tracksuit bottoms or joggers is quite justified right now. Luckily, there are a plethora of options on the market, if you’re looking to treat yourself to a new pair (or, if like me, you’ve owned all your existing pairs since before you can remember). Topshop, in particular, have stepped up their offering of casual and loungewear, as the brand has even added a specific “stay home” tab to their website. Between pastel yellow pairs, lime green options and logoed iterations, the brand has developed a range of joggers that are not only guaranteed to be comfortable but also adhere to current trends. While some might think that lougning around in your joggers all day might not be the most fashionable existence, Topshop has proven that those two things are not mutually exclusive. Evidently several members of the fashion set agree, as we’ve already seen a few examples of influencers in Topshop’s latest pairs. I’m in My 30s and All of My Friends Swear By These 27 Beauty Products
April 23, 2020 at 08:00AM There are a few things getting older has taught me: Never buy cheap tights, a black roll-neck goes with everything and investing in beauty products in your 30s is a must. While I might be lucky enough to look younger than my age, I’m still 35 and need to take care of my skin, so that means finding the right products for me. That’s not to say it has to be expensive, though—there are plenty of products that are affordable. However, I am but one woman, so I turned to three of my friends (also in their 30s) and asked them what products they swear by. I’m lucky that I’ve known most of my closest girlfriends for over 20 years. As part of the same group of friends, you can imagine that we’re unflinchingly honest with each other, which means I trust them to tell me exactly what they like. They revealed which brands and type of products really work for them and what they’re looking for to help their skin. Below, you’ll see three of my friends and their skincare must-haves and why, plus the products I rate to keep my skin in check. Friend #1 said she swears by this for her legs, even though she’s struggled to get hold of it right now. This is also one of my personal favourites too. Kiehl’s lightweight oil is great for making your skin look refreshed the next morning. Hydration is so much more important than before,
These 5 Tricks Will Make Your Clothes Last So Much Longer
April 23, 2020 at 07:00AM Despite Marie Kondo helping us to spark joy, we still have a lot of stuff in our wardrobes—and stuff we rarely wear. In Lauren Bravo’s book How to Break Up With Fast Fashion, she reveals that last year alone the UK spent an estimated £2.7 billion on clothes that only got worn once. That’s quite the sobering statistic. Adding to this, there’s nothing quite like being stuck at home for over a month with literally nowhere to go to make you realise just how many clothes you have. For those of us who love fashion, we know that it can, at times, make you feel overwhelming guilt and shame about the textile bounty you’ve amassed. There’s no denying that this is a first-world problem. But instead of feeling bad, why not think about how you can make the stuff you actually love last longer? I spoke to Bravo on her best tips for looking after your clothes the right way. Not only will this mean you’ll shop less (say hello to a healthier budget), but you’ll also be chucking away less stuff which in turn will mean you’re helping the environment, as it won’t end up in the carbon emission–producing landfill. Keep scrolling to see her brilliant tips… “However much money you spend on your clothes, you should always be able to wash them and they should be able last,” says Lauren. “It shouldn’t be the case that only expensive clothes last as that’s not feasible for
Rosie HW’s Makeup Artist Shares a 5-Step Look That’s Zoom Meeting–Approved
April 23, 2020 at 06:30AM Simple yet effective. Welcome to Five or Fewer, a new Who What Wear series that brings you the best A-list beauty looks in five (or fewer!) easy-to-follow steps. To break down each hair or makeup look, we invite the industry’s top beauty talent—such as Margot Robbie’s hairstylist— to demonstrate an easy how-to on themselves or our US beauty editors, Erin Jahns and Courtney Higgs. Next up, celebrity makeup artist Nikki Wolff demonstrates a simple, five-step makeup tutorial that looks great for Zoom or FaceTime video conferencing. She originally gave the step-by-step via an Instagram takeover, but luckily we saved all the footage and took detailed notes in case you missed it. Keep scrolling for the gorgeous play-by-play and to shop the exact products Wolff uses to create the look. Wolff explains that since she started the tutorial with her foundation already applied, the first step is reaching for a creamy eye shadow stick (or even a kohl pencil—whatever you have on hand) that promises long, budge-proof wear. (Because no one wants migrating eye makeup mid-meeting, right?) After applying your favourite foundation as you normally would, Wolff says to take your shadow stick (she likes the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Heather Steel—a deep grey-purple), and “sketch” it all along the outer part of the eye and into the lash line. Then, blend it out with a brush like Fenty Beauty’s Precision Blending Eyeshadow Brush 230 (£20). “Blend using soft, small strokes to achieve that subtle smokiness in the outer corners of
If You’re Suffering From “Tech Neck,” These Firming Products Will Help
April 23, 2020 at 06:30AM We’re not sure about you, but working from home is really starting to take its toll on our bodies. As grateful as we are to have the luxury of being able to continue to work from the comfort of our homes, there’s no doubt that the physical aspect of it can have its drawbacks. Where daily commutes, coffee runs and lunch breaks once kept us moving and active, office chairs, desk setups and large computer screens helped support our posture and remove the risks of aches and pains. Fast-forward to today and the majority of us are hunched over laptops, slumped on the sofa or cramped on a chair under some sort of makeshift desk. And it would seem that these working-from-home office environments are already starting to have a negative impact. From backaches to neck pain, people far and wide are starting to complain of the ways that their bodies are reacting to the change in their workspace. A common issue that we have seen crop up time and time again is that of “tech neck”—the feeling of pressure/tension in the neck and back and the appearance of lines, jowls and creases in the skin as a result of constantly looking down at technology, often at a 45-degree angle. If you can relate to this issue or want to get one step ahead, here’s all there is to know and a roundup of the very best neck-firming products around. The recently coined term “tech neck” refers
