This Is the Weirdest Trend for Summer, But It’s Honestly So Chic

June 22, 2020 at 06:00AM Unless I’m working out, I’m not generally a fan of sweating. It’s not that I object to perspiring, but I hate feeling too hot. I’m a Northerner, so anything that’s above 16 degrees feels boiling, quite frankly. So when it comes to spring/summer wardrobes, I tend to stick to the principles of wearing loose garments and usually in cotton. Oh but fashion had other plans for me this season. What had started as the stirrings of a trend at the end of last summer is now set to be a full-fledged look for the coming warmer months: summer leather. Yes, I hear you scoff, but if you think about it, we’ve always worn biker jackets during July and August evenings. However, that’s not just what I’m talking about. I mean leather wrap dresses, minis, pencil skirts, shirts and shorts. Even jumpsuits have been given the leather overhaul. Thanks to the likes of Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu and Loewe, which all showcased leather looks on their respective spring/summer 2020 runways, this is genuinely one of the chicest trends for this coming year. To play this trend as cooly as possible, I’d suggest starting the jackets and graduating to the leather shorts. Jackets and shirts can, of course, be worn now but ideal for throwing over slip dresses during peak summer months. Got all that? Keep scrolling for a look at this trend on the runway, then shop the best leather and faux-leather pieces available now. Tiffany

4 Lessons I’ve Learned About Skincare Since Moving to Paris

June 22, 2020 at 06:00AM Every month, Londoner turned Parisienne Marissa Cox of Rue Rodier will bring you her pearls of Parisian fashion wisdom and beauty tips straight from the French capital. A writer, photographer and influencer, we turn to the oh-so-chic Marissa on a regular basis for a truly unique take on her adopted country’s signature style. Whether we’re looking to her décor decisions, handbag purchases or chic hotel choices, we can all agree that looking un petit peu plus Français could never be a bad thing… One thing I’ve been more exposed to more since moving to Paris seven years ago—besides good wine, baguettes and French men—is great skincare and overall more respect for it. I’ve always looked after my skin, but that’s because my mother instilled in me the importance of a good beauty routine from a young age and my knowledge came from her. I’ve generally found that when growing up and entering the workforce in the UK, unless one works in an industry that has more emphasis on appearance or has a mother that had you cleansing, toning and moisturizing early on (I even had the three-step Clinique products as a young teen), this hasn’t been the norm compared with the other side of the channel. It’s usually been me advising my British friends on what to use and buy, or looking at their face and telling them that they should probably be wearing eye cream. In France, I discovered that there is a very

17 Women Who Prove It’s Seriously Chic to Let Your Hair Go Grey Naturally

June 21, 2020 at 06:30PM If you have spent the best part of your life worrying about the inevitable arrival of grey hairs, you’re not alone. In fact, since 2018, Pinterest searches for “going grey” have increased by 879%—and we totally get it. After all, going grey requires a whole bunch of hair decisions to be made. While full-colour transformations and highlights prove popular options for those going grey, the maintenance and upkeep can be very expensive. On top of the financial aspect of covering grey hairs comes the pressure to keep them hidden. For many years, there has been an element of shame that comes alongside going grey. So much so that grey hair is cited as the number one hair concern for women in the UK. At the moment, with salons still closed for the time being, it seems people far and wide are at a total loss with what to do with their grey roots. And while covering them up and at-home dyes are an option, we think there’s something rather chic about embracing your natural hair colour in all of its glory, no? That’s right—a wave of grey acceptance is coming over the beauty industry, and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks to shampoos and conditioners that work to keep grey hair looking fresh (Redken Color Extend Graydiant, £15, can’t be beaten) and blow-dry foams that work to temporarily disguise grey hairs while you transition from brunette to silver (John Frieda Defy Grey Blow Dry Foam, £7, is a

I Asked Everyone I Trust for Their Bra Recs—Here’s What I Got

June 21, 2020 at 11:10AM On one of my many recent wardrobe clean outs, it came to my attention that the only thing I truly need to buy at the moment is bras. In fact, I couldn’t even remember the last time I actually purchased one, and it occurred to me that I don’t even have a single favourite, because none of them seem to fit just right anymore. So, a week ago, I copy-and-pasted this exact text message to six of my friends, two colleagues and my older sister: “Hey! I need new bras so I’m writing a story on the brands and styles that people I trust recommend. Can you send me your favourites and why?” One of them never got back to me, but luckily, the rest of them over-achieved and here we are today. And what did I get out of my little mass text? Well, first I learned quite quickly that, across the board, bralettes are the name of the game right now and underwire styles are currently on a need-to-wear basis. That shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, seeing as many of us are spending much of our time at home right now and comfort seems to be the top priority when dressing. In addition to uncovering this rather obvious trend, however, I ended up with eleven brands even more bra styles ranging from less than a fiver to over £100 that seem to be worth the money, hype and more. To read about each
