6 Influencers Who Inspire Me to Wear More Colour

June 18, 2020 at 05:03AM Despite what my Instagram feed may have you believe, I don’t tend to wear much vibrant colour in my day-to-day life. Particularly now that I’m home more often, my wardrobe predominantly consists of plain white tees, denim, and a vast array of black or grey activewear. Recently, I’ve been throwing on a few summer dresses for good measure, but even with those, I often gravitate toward muted neutral tones or subtler shades.  However, with summer on its way I’m finding myself drawn to brighter colours, and thanks to a saved folder filled with vibrant looks that I’ve accumulated on Instagram, it’s never been easier to find inspiration. From Zeena Shah’s cheery aesthetic to Nina Sandbech’s affinity for rainbow brights and Nnenna Echem’s colour-clashing creations,  my follow list has become a who’s who of influencers who excel in creating looks that feature a kaleidoscope of colours. From orange to green, purple, pink and blue, there is not a single shade these women shy away from, mixing and matching vibrant hues with ease.  If, like me, you’re looking to add some extra colour to your closet this season, I highly recommend scrolling through the feeds of the six women below for some inspiration first. Everything You Need to Know About Shaping Your Brows at Home

June 17, 2020 at 06:26PM The number one beauty lesson that almost everyone is guaranteed to have learned the hard way? Never attempt to reshape your own brows. If you want to cut the risk of getting pluck-happy, it’s imperative that you resist the urge to reach for the tweezers and instead simply call the salon and book in for a shape-and-tidy. But things have changed. Something as simple as booking in for a brow appointment is now no longer an option. And as our brows start sprouting new stragglers left, right and centre after four weeks without even a hint of grooming, we’re calling time on this laissez-faire approach to brow maintenance. So while we are by no means encouraging anyone to start ordering hot wax and set up a DIY brow bar, we think we could all benefit from some pointers on how to avoid disaster while tending to our brows. To aid in keeping the situation under control until we can get back out into the world again, we have enlisted the help of Laurretta Power, senior brow expert and makeup artist at Benefit Cosmetics UK. Keep scrolling to discover her top tips. First and foremost, it’s imperative to remember that it’s best to leave the fiddly tools and methods to the professionals. “At home, I suggest tweezing over any other technique, owing to the fact there is much less room for error,” advises Power. “With waxing or threading, you’re removing large areas of hair, making it far easier to make big

Easy Pineapple Salsa

June 17, 2020 at 01:00PM No need to buy store-bought with this sweet and spicy easy pineapple salsa. The perfect way to jazz up your salsa with a tropical twist. This will be your new favorite salsa recipe!   I’m kind of, just a little bit, okay completely entirely obsessed with this recipe. Not only is it my go-to salsa recipe, but all it really takes to get me salivating is a good 10 seconds staring at these pictures. I’ve always been a chips and salsa lover. I love traditional, tomato based salsa but I also love sweeter salsas! The combination of savory and sweet will forever win with my taste buds. Lately I’ve been taking a stab at making my own homemade salsas instead of picking them up at the store and I have to say… they are 100% worth the effort to make them fresh! The flavors of a fresh salsa vs. store-bought are soooo much better. Trust me! While this salsa does take a fair amount of chopping, it’s super simple to make!  Ingredients You Need: tomatoes pineapple red onion cilantro fresh lime juice ground coriander salt and pepper jalapeno – optional but recommended to add a little heat! After all of […] The post Easy Pineapple Salsa appeared first on The Healthy Maven. Continue Reading… Author Davida Lederle | Thehealthymaven Selected by CWC

I Just Tried the New VB Beauty Moisturiser, and I Think I’m in Love

June 17, 2020 at 04:20PM If you know me, you know that my love for Victoria Beckham Beauty knows no bounds. And, trust me, that is something I’m really ashamed to admit because everything is so insanely expensive. Sure, I’m more than happy to give a £100+ product a glowing review for its results, but for me personally (who absolutely does not have a spare £100 to spend on skincare) the price of a product is a total deal breaker, because no beauty product is worth any sort of financial stress. So please do keep the above disclaimer in mind as I work my way through my feelings about the new Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer in Golden. You see, when Victoria Beckham Beauty launched last year, I fell head over heels for the makeup products. The buttery eye shadow palettes (which by the way look and feel like absolute works of art) were love at first sight and the silky liners are now permanents in my collection. And the truth is, I can face spending £48 on a luxury eye shadow palette. It might pain me a little bit, but I am a beauty editor, which means my spending habits do naturally tend to lean towards beauty products. However, only shortly after my love affair with VB Beauty makeup began, a new skincare product came on the scene. Formulated in collaboration skincare maestro Professor Augustinus Bader, the Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer contains Bader’s patented TFC8® technology that is responsible for giving his own brand’s

JW Anderson Designs Genderless Capsule Collection for Yoox

June 17, 2020 at 04:16PM This year marks the 20th anniversary of e-commerce platform Yoox, and to celebrate, British designer JW Anderson has designed an exclusive genderless capsule collection for the site. The capsule is made up of 10 pieces, including ready-to-wear items, handbags and footwear. The designs were inspired by archival pieces and themes from the designer’s previous collections. Speaking to WWD about the gender-fluid collection, Anderson – who was worked with Yoox since 2011 – said, “I remember when Yoox first approached us about doing something for their 20th anniversary and I thought it would be interesting to do something that looked at things we have in the past at JW Anderson. We really looked at what we thought would make sense for the capsule and created some asymmetric pieces, a shirt dress and a skirt, and a patchwork trench coat. Patchwork is a recurring JW Anderson code and I think the colour palette feels very British in a way and Britishness is part of our DNA.” A neutral striped hoodie is sure to catch the attention of loungewear lovers – or those who are planning their return-to-work wardrobes and want comfort to be key after months of working from home – whilst the silk shirting will work for any and every occasion. The slip-on backless loafer is an excellent piece of transition footwear, too. <div class="sjm-attachment-carousel–header gallery-container–default" data-slick='{"speed":400,"adaptiveHeight":true,"variableWidth":false,"centerMode":true,"centerPadding":"0","slidesToShow":1,"lazyLoad":"ondemand","prevArrow":"Previous”,”nextArrow”:”Next”}’ data-simplemodal=’false’ > Photograph courtesy of Yoox Photograph courtesy of Yoox Photograph courtesy of Yoox Photograph courtesy of Yoox Photograph courtesy
