Zucchini Black Bean Burgers
July 02, 2020 at 01:00PM Step up your veggie burger game with these delicious zucchini black bean burgers. Fully vegan and juicy – the perfect substitute for your summer BBQ. It has been a minute since I’ve shared a veggie burger recipe! I feel like there was a period of time that veggie burgers were not veggies at all but a lot of processed crap. (Morningstar Farms ring a bell, anyone?!) There was almost a trend in the health world around being vegetarian and you better believe I bought those frozen patties thinking they were healthy for me. Thankfully times have changed and I now know what works for my body which is loads of vegetables… and anything else I want to enjoy! The most important thing to me is taste. My food has to taste good. And I can assure you, these black bean burgers are amazing. Zucchini Black Bean Burger Ingredients Black beans Zucchini Garlic Chili powder Cumin Salt Flaxseed egg – mix 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed with 3 tablespoons of warm water. Veggie Burger Nutrition There are four main nutrition superstars in this burger: black beans, zucchini, garlic and flaxseed. Black beans – The base of these veggie burgers are black beans. This Beauty Members Club Offers Some of the Best Affordable Products Around
July 02, 2020 at 05:30PM As an editor who lives and breathes all things beauty, even I must admit that the industry is a little saturated with products that offer very similar results with differing price tags. Don’t get me wrong. I love a luxury beauty item as much as the next person, but I am willing to admit that an expensive price tag doesn’t always equal high-end results. Gone are the days of affordable products being filled with drying alcohols, fragrances and pore-clogging silcones; the affordable brands making headlines in 2020 are here to compete. One of the most obvious stars of the affordable market over the last couple of years has been beauty members club Beauty Pie. Offering seriously high-quality products, Beauty Pie cuts out the middleman and saves money where other brands don’t. Costly go-betweens with manufacturers and retailers are cut, there’s no celebrity marketing, no stores, and it removes any chance of retailer markups (because there are no other retailers). A product that might usually cost £100 can be yours for £11. To access the products, the idea is that members pay a small monthly fee, starting from £5, that allows them to shop at heavily discounted prices. If you don’t want to commit to a membership? You can still buy the products, just at a higher price. And I must admit, when it first launched, my thoughts were that it provided an interesting and niche business model but would likely only appeal to serious beauty buffs and have a relatively short

A Vancouver-based Street Style Photographer is Selling Prints to Benefit The Loveland Foundation
July 02, 2020 at 04:18PM There are many different ways to support the Black Lives Matter movement through advocacy and financial investment. And this week, Canadian street style photographer Sabrina Fenster, who works under the moniker StreetScout, launched the sale of a series of prints (some with handwritten notes from the images’ subjects), with 100% of the proceeds from the images going to The Loveland Foundation. Founded in 2018 by writer and lecturer Rachel Cargle, Loveland provides a therapy fund for Black women and girls across America, as well as opportunities for advancement through fellowships, residency programs and listening tours. “I am using my street style photography as a platform to give to a charitable foundation and create ongoing and tangible social impact,” says Fenster about her mission with the series. “My goal is to create and share prints that are driven by purpose, and also give you, the buyer, the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change while hanging something beautiful in your home. Not only are you supporting the cause, you are getting a token from the cause. Each print serves as a reminder of your ongoing commitment to create positive change toward racial equality.” We caught up with Fenster, who has also been documenting BLM protests, to find out more about why she’s selling her photos, and what she’s learned by following the momentum of Black Lives Matter.
