How to Carry Out Your Regular Beauty Treatments at Home

May 19, 2020 at 11:48AM If you ask me, there is no better feeling in the world than indulging in a good old-fashioned pampering. Whether it’s taking some time to practise self-care or simply having a manicure, treating yourself to some TLC from time to time is thought to boost mood, productivity and better your general wellbeing.  Whether you’ve grown accustomed to regular facials, pedis or spray tans, you might be interested to know that it doesn’t necessarily take for you to leave the house in order to get spa- or salon-worthy results. In fact, with a whole host of impressive at-home products and some diary time blocked out, there’s really no reason that you can’t turn your own home into a makeshift spa for an hour or two. Keep scrolling for all of the salon and spa beauty treatments you can carry out yourself at home. This one might seem a bit silly at first given that we are all committing to an extensive twice-daily skincare routine anyway (right?!), however, if you’re craving a post-facial glow, there are some extra steps that can be taken. First of all, for the extra treat, make sure you’re reaching for your most indulgent products. A spa-like cleansing balm, followed by a luxe exfoliating treatment will leave your skin glowing, sure, but why stop there?  Up the ante by treating your face to a deep steam and masking session to help decongest pores. Then, follow up with a depuffing, firming and (most importantly) super-relaxing facial massage. Not sure

At-home 30-minute Power Yoga Workout

May 19, 2020 at 11:22AM Hi friends! How’s the day going so far? I hope you’re having a good morning. We’re just taking it easy today and looking forward to catching a swim this afternoon. Let’s practice yoga together, eh? Over the past 9+ weeks, yoga has been even more crucial to me than ever. (And MAN I miss hot yoga studio classes.) It’s helped to stretch out my tight hip flexors from all of the walking we’ve been doing, and given me a chance to just zone out and focus on the present moment. This has been helpful when my mind has been going 1,000 miles a minute lately. I’ve been sharing video workouts on the blog since 2009, and got my 200-hour yoga certification while I was pregnant with P, but this is the first time I’m posting a yoga video! I delayed getting my yoga certification because I wasn’t sure if I’d want to teach. Yoga has always been a sacred thing that’s just for me, and I worried that if I was analyzing classes to listen for form cues and music flow, that it would take away the magic. It absolutely didn’t. Yoga teacher training did so much for me personally and it changed my practice and my life. (You can check out more about my experience here!) Even so, I’ve always been a little self-conscious about teaching yoga. I just want to do it right, ya know? I put a lot of pressure on myself

May 19, 2020 at 10:00AM Anyone remember build-a-bear? Pretty sure that and Limited Too basically sum up being a child of the 90s. You know what sums up my adulthood? Bowls. All.The.Bowls. So for those of you who are feeling a little lost in the kitchen these days, I hope this bowl recipes post will help inspire you to get a little create. As a reminder, this is just a guide. 22 Very Old Trends I’m Still Wearing Today

May 19, 2020 at 07:08AM I’m a huge fan of ’70s fashion—the era created a host of trends that still stand up today, whether you realise they’re from that time or not. Think of our current obsession with bright over-the-knee boots, folk-inspired printed dresses, velvet and corduroy, boho blouses, midi skirts and so on. While the ’70s sweeps over the runways every couple of seasons, there’s always still a hint of it on the streets if you look closely. Think of the iconic designer names that were indelibly marked into history during this decade, like Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld and Diane von Furstenburg. It was also a period where mass-market, trend-driven fashion was also more readily available. Barbara Hulanicki’s Biba kick-started the idea in London a decade earlier, alongside boutiques like Bus Stop, and cool, connected girls were able to switch up their looks more readily, which likely led to the 1001 aesthetics and key pieces that came out of this electric time. This glamorous period also produced a slew of unforgettable, high-octane, high-profile style icons too. Think Farrah Fawcett, Grace Jones, Bianca Jagger, Diana Ross, Cher and Debbie Harry. Their fabulousness was met in equal parts by the casual ’70s crew: Ali McGraw, Diane Keaton, Jane Birkin and company repped the kind of ’70s style that feels more brunch-ready in NYC rather than wild nights at Studio 54. Whether you’re into hippies, disco queens, rockers, punks or retro nerds, I’d recommend following @70sbabes on Instagram for a daily dose.

Every Outfit Kate Middleton Has Worn on Her Royal Zoom Calls

May 19, 2020 at 06:06AM Like so many of us, Kate Middleton has been spending a lot of time on video calls lately, though the Duchess of Cambridge hasn’t been participating in virtual pub quizzes or Saturday evening digital drinks (…we assume). No, her royal highness has instead been appearing online as a part of her royal duties, calling in to This Morning with Phillip and Holly, thanking nurses as a part of International Nurse Day and spreading important messages about mental health awareness.  As to be expected, each of Middleton’s appearances has garnered the attention of the press, not only because of the worthwhile causes the duchess is supporting but also because of her coveted Zoom outfit choices. Of course, Middleton’s at-home attire does not consist of oversize loungewear or comfy athleisure like you and I. The duchess is much more polished than that, appearing online in chic floral dresses by British brands like Ghost, Boden and Raey or elevated, textured knitwear by Sandro Paris and Tabitha Webb.  By way of accessories, Middleton has maintained her penchant for simple jewellery, often choosing to wear an elegant drop earring or minimalist hoops while on call. If you’re looking for a little Zoom-outfit inspiration, keep scrolling to see everything Kate Middleton has chosen to wear on her video calls.  Next up, the biggest S/S 20 fashion trends you need to know.  Author Zoe Anastasiou | Whowhatwear Selected by CWC

You Can Now Buy THAT J-Lo Green Versace Dress

May 19, 2020 at 06:00AM The most talked-about look for the spring summer 2020 season was without a doubt Versace’s cutout gown, which was a reimagining of the dress Jennifer Lopez wore to the Grammys in 2000. Even Anna Wintour grinned when J.Lo walked down the runway at Milan Fashion Week in the dress that led to the invention of Google’s image search tool. This wasn’t just a moment for Instagram, however as now you can purchase the gown yourself.  Net-a-Porter noted in its spring summer 2020 trend report that this is its biggest investment from the Versace runway. The original runway version is now available on the site for £6960, while Net-A-Porter has also heavily bought into a commercial version for £4850. That might still be an eye watering price, however the crystal-embellished silk gown is listed as ‘low stock’ on almost every size. This JLO-approved motif was however a key part of the entire collection, so you’ll also find leggings, silk scarves and mini skirts in the palm print.  Jennifer Lopez wearing the £6960 runway Versace dress at Milan Fashion Week.  Jennifer Lopez wearing the £6960 runway Versace dress at Milan Fashion Week.  Jennifer Lopez wearing the £6960 runway Versace dress at Milan Fashion Week.  Jennifer Lopez in the original Versace dress at the Grammys.  Jennifer Lopez in the original Versace dress at the Grammys.  Next up, see our guide to the key trends for spring summer 2020.  Author Emma Spedding | Whowhatwear Selected by CWC

We Predict This Will Be the Trending Top of the Summer

May 19, 2020 at 06:00AM Sometimes a trend comes along that’s so simple that anyone can get in on it without feeling like they’re being too ostentatiously “fashion.” Today, that trend is the sleeveless T-shirt. Once reserved for rock stars like Debbie Harry, thanks to brand of the moment The Frankie Shop’s versions, this top is now firmly back on the fashion industry’s radar. The defining details of the current style are that it needs to be sleeveless (of course) but with slightly oversize shoulders and a round neck. Colours are kept simple with white, cream, black and grey being the most acceptable hues. However, stripes and muted pastels are also great options. Further proof that this trend is going to be ubiquitous for the season is that you can find the top from luxury brands such as The Row and high-street stores like Weekday—ideal for whatever your budget is. And if you’re saving the pennies right now? You can always chop off the sleeves of a T-shirt you don’t love anymore.  Before you decide to invest, perhaps it would be good to know how to wear this look? The brilliant thing about it is that it’s a simple top, so you can wear it with anything, and it’ll look great. My personal preference is to pair with jeans, but a denim skirt would look just as fab or a pair of shorts when it gets hot in the summer. As for accessories, layered gold chains and a pair of oversize black
