& Other Stories’ Summer Collection Has Arrived—Here’s What We’re Buying

May 17, 2020 at 06:00AM We might not be able to head into the shops as usual, but that hasn’t stopped us from doing plenty of window (erm, screen?) shopping this month. & Other Stories, as usual, as been at the top of our list, and while we adore its woolen knits and chunky boots during the winter months, it’s summer where the brand really excels. Of course, it’s mostly about the dresses, and it’s fair to say every Who What Wear editor has at least one well-loved Stories frock hanging in their wardrobe. But it’s time to take off the blinkers, because there is so much more to see.  From linen and 50 shades of lilac to elevated basics and beautiful blouses, it seems as though & Other Stories has really perfected the art of the wearable-yet-stylish staple. Case in point? The brand’s pistacho-coloured linen blazer will look great thrown over tracksuit bottoms and a white tee for a trip to the supermarket now, and then when we are finally able to go back to the office, it will work equally as well with tailored trousers and heeled boots.  So whether you want to join us in a bit of screen shopping (it’s a thing now, ok?) or fancy adding a few hardworking buys to your summer capsule, scroll down to see the best Stories has to offer this season. The 3 Summer Trends Fashion People Are Already Wearing

May 16, 2020 at 02:40PM We’ve been dreaming of summer weather ever since the clocks went back and we were burdened with the concept of the sun setting to complete darkness by 4 p.m. It’s been a long winter, and while we can’t exactly say we’re out of the woods yet (it did snow this week, after all), we can certainly see the literal and metaphorical light at the end of the cold and wintry tunnel. Thankfully, not only do we have summer weather to look forward to in the coming months, but also summer trends. With the S/S 20 runways of last September as our indication, it’s shaping up to be a chic season. Interestingly enough, it seems the street style set are equally as enthralled with next season’s trends as several showgoers at fashion week are already trialling the most-talked-about looks.  From the must-have new spiral sandals by Bottega Veneta to neon colourways to this season’s It item—aka Bermuda shorts—the fashion set is proving you don’t need to wait until summer to wear summer trends. Of course, industry insiders are finding their own ways to make the trends seasonally appropriate for right now. For example, many are pairing their Bermuda shorts against knee-high boots and blazers, while others are opting to wear neon hues in cosy knits or tailored separates. Keep scrolling for the three summer trends fashion people are already wearing.  As we know by now, everything Bottega Veneta touches turns to fashion gold, and its latest footwear debut is no different. These Baby Skincare Products Are So Good You’ll Want to Use Them Too

May 16, 2020 at 11:00AM Considering just how potent skincare is nowadays, it’s understandable that when it comes to caring for your baby’s skin, it’s important to use baby-friendly formulas. And it’s not just strong active ingredients that baby skincare products should be without, but also potentially irritating fragrance and colour. In essence, the key to baby-friendly skincare is that it has to be incredibly gentle.  And really, there’s no reason that your skin can’t reap the same benefits. Actually, it makes perfect sense that gentle skincare products for babies—formulated without irritating fragrance or potentially drying actives—would deliver the same nourishment for adults too. In fact, for those that have sensitive or easily irritated skin, no-fuss baby products could be your best bet. Luckily, over the past few years, baby skincare has come a very long way. Whereas previously brands took a one-formula-fits-all approach with multiuse products that they claimed could be used as a wash, bath soak and shampoo, now, the variety is much more impressive. From multipurpose skin balms to milky bath soaks that leave skin soft and supple, keep scrolling for all of the skincare products that are totally okay to share with your baby. Formulated with natural ingredients such as sweet almond oil and jojoba oil that aim to nourish and soften, this gentle bathing milk guarantees soft, supple skin. Plus, if you’re worried about irritation, it also contains calendula and chamomile extract to soothe.  For your baby, this massage oil is a great way to soothe their skin and relax them

I Just Styled Gucci’s Best-Selling Cult Belt 3 Ways

May 16, 2020 at 08:00AM If there’s one brand that has been inescapable over the past few years it’s been Gucci. Since 2015, under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, the brand has become one of the hottest fashion houses around. Thanks to Alessandro’s exciting and fresh vision countless other designers and high street brands have followed the edgy-grandma-meets-the-seventies trend. But the real crux of the fashion house’s success lies in its accessibility. While some opt to wear the brand sunglasses-to-platforms, others can easily dip their toe in with a bag or a pair of shoes. But one of the easiest ways to get the Gucci look? Wear one of the now-iconic double G belts. It has a cool but goes-with-everything-in-your-wardrobe appeal that makes it a must for both die-hard fashion lovers and your mum. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has one in her wardrobe, as do Dakota Johnson and Cate Blanchett. To keep it interesting, the brand has re-imagined the GG belts in different ways—from the classic black, brown and white offerings to more embellished styles that will sate the more flamboyant dressers’ fashion appetites. To prove just how easy they are to wear, I’ve styled the belts—one thin, medium, and thick in different ways to prove just how versatile these belts are. Keep scrolling for how to wear this cult item and then shop my edit of the best Gucci GG belts below.  Style Notes: My personal preference for styling a thin belt is to wrap it over a chunky knit. I love the contrast between something heavy

Makeup Artists Say These 6 Moisturisers Will Age You in Reverse

May 16, 2020 at 06:30AM “Benjamin Buttoning.” Ageing backwards. Stopping time. If there’s one effect or buzzword that elicits the same visceral reaction from beauty editors, skincare experts and customers alike, it’s anything with the term anti-ageing in it. The truth of the matter is this: There’s no miracle cream, gel, serum or treatment that has the power to actually reverse or halt the signs of ageing on the skin. (Sorry, it just doesn’t exist.) That said, there are a small number of products that come pretty close, and we’re about to share an edit of them below. Per a roster of celebrity makeup artists—Emily Cheng, Naoko Scintu and Emma White Turle—we’re uncovering a curated selection of the best anti-ageing moisturisers. The keyword here being curated because according to them, not every cream or moisturiser on the market works the same. Luckily, they find that the below six do wield high-performing effects that plump and lift the skin and combat fine lines and wrinkles. So without further ado, keep scrolling to discover what makes each one so beloved and a few of the other products they recommend building out your routine with as well. Turle introduced this cream to me by saying that it’s considered a scientific masterpiece and that she’s inclined to agree. I was immediately intrigued. “This lifts the skin from the first use,” she explained. “And over a few weeks of use, lines are diminished and skin is brighter. It’s very rich but very light and works beautifully under makeup. The driest and most tired of

19 Beauty Products That Smell So Good, You Might as Well Be at a Spa

May 16, 2020 at 06:30AM If I have one area of expertise within my field, it’s smellies. While some beauty editors pride themselves on their textbook knowledge of the epidermis or their Katie Jane Hughes–style makeup abilities (I have a bit of the former, and none of the latter), I pride myself on my ability to rate every great-smelling beauty product from 1 to10 on everything from texture and scent to results and efficacy, all from memory. It’s a bit niche, I know, but I’m not going to fight it. My love for baths and body care is no secret, and although I really do appreciate a lengthy ritual, it’s the mouth-watering scents that really do it for me. And sure, experts will always have something to say about heavy fragrances in products, but it’s important to remember that not all scented beauty products are made equal, with some being better for your skin than others. More recently, as I have found my stress levels rising and my mind and soul have demanded more “me” time than ever before, I have found myself reaching for my most-coveted smellies almost daily. I find that not only do they help bring some delight to otherwise mundane tasks (like scrubbing your entire body), but the scents themselves also help to evoke a feeling of calm and clarity.  And yes, there is some science behind why great-smelling beauty products make us feel good (it’s all to do with aromatherapy and hormones), but frankly, right now, I don’t think it

These Little Details Will Make Your Tops Feel So Much Fancier

May 16, 2020 at 06:06AM If you lived through the late nineties and earlier noughties, you are likely familiar with the term, “jeans and a nice top.” Back then, it represented the foolproof outfit formula that saw women through dates, dinners, nights out and so much more.  Though our collective fashion conscious has very much changed since then with varied outfit combinations gaining more traction, there’s something so timeless about a “nice top” that it still remains a hallmark in many women’s wardrobes. And for summer 2020, the popularity of the item does not seem to be slowing down, as already we’ve seen several fancy top trends start to emerge amongst the fashion set this season.  From embellished straps to bow-tie details, tie-front closures and open back accents, the nice tops of 2020 are decidedly feminine and thoroughly modern. Brands like Musier Paris have added pearlescent beads to dainty shoulder straps, while Free People have created intricate keyhole back details. Sir the Label and Kenzo have added bow ties as front closers or across the shoulders while Christopher Kane and others have included drawstrings as a both functional and fashionable feature. Whether you’re planning to pair yours with jeans or otherwise this season, keep scrolling for five details that help to make your nice tops feel fancy.  Next up, the biggest S/S 20 fashion trends you need to know.  Author Zoe Anastasiou | Whowhatwear Selected by CWC
