Katy Perry Revealed the Look She Would’ve Worn to the 2020 Met Gala, and It’s Oh So Madonna

May 05, 2020 at 11:37PM Image Source: Getty / Rabbani and Solimene Photography Although the Met Gala was postponed this year, stars still found creative ways to celebrate the “first Monday in May,” from Vogue‘s live-stream event to Instagram’s #MetGalaChallenge. These efforts certainly helped to ease the loss of fashion’s biggest night, but personally, I still held out hope to see what celebrities were planning to wear had the event gone through. Enter: Katy Perry. The “Never Worn White” singer gave fans a glimpse of the beginnings of her Met Gala outfit on May 4, and it looks like an iconic homage to another pop sensation: Madonna. Katy’s coned corset ensemble came courtesy of Jean Paul Gaultier, the same designer who created Madonna’s memorable Blonde Ambition: World Tour bra back in 1990. Katy’s corset, however, would have also framed her pregnant belly – putting her daughter with Orlando Bloom front and center. Quickly after Katy shared this peek, fans flooded her comments with requests to see the full outfit. There’s no telling exactly what the rest of her look entailed, but judging by her ‘gram, it was going to be epic. Do I Want a Custom Sweatshirt With My Pet’s Face on It? Yup, of Course I Do

May 05, 2020 at 10:23PM The piece: Staud x C.Bonz Custom Unisex Pet Sweatshirt The price: $195 Why I want it: I can’t even tell you how this Staud sweatshirt warmed my heart the moment I unwrapped it from its packaging. If we’re being honest, it made me shed an unexpected tear or two. Of course, I was blown away by the intricate stitching done by the teams at C.Bonz and Staud – the resemblance is uncanny to my cat Trish – but also by just seeing her sweet, innocent little face as interpreted by an artist on a sweatshirt for me! It felt special; like someone else could share in my love for my pet and how she’s gotten me through the past months with her cuddles alone. I know I’m not the only one who feels like my cat is my coworker as I shelter in place and work from home. I can’t be the only one talking out loud to my pet, letting her know I’m just hopping on a quick Zoom call or running to the kitchen to get more coffee. The custom unisex sweatshirt, which retails for $195, is made by hand and takes three to four weeks to ship. After you purchase it, all you need to do is send in a photo of your pet and wait for the throwover, which also happens to be conveniently soft in its triblend jersey fabric, to arrive. I know what you’re thinking: that price is a

[CWC] My Summer Outfit Mood Board Now Revolves Around Kiara From Outer Banks

May 05, 2020 at 09:25PM Look up the phrase “summer wardrobe goals” in the dictionary, and you just might see a photo of Kiara Carrera from Outer Banks smiling back at you. The queen of surfer-girl style, Kiara (portrayed by actress Madison Bailey) is basically a walking PacSun ad, rocking an array of graphic tees, patterned bikinis, crop tops, and cutoff denim shorts during the treasure-hunting adventures she embarks on with her Pogue pals. Plus, she always remembers to kick her laid-back, beachy outfits up a notch by accessorizing with her signature beaded choker necklaces. Much like her BFF-turned-arch-nemesis-turned-friend-again Sarah Cameron, Kiara’s clothes are relatively affordable in real life, hailing from retailers like Urban Outfitters, Target, Billabong, and O’Neill. In honor of Kiara’s easy-breezy style – well, and because I needed something to cure my Outer Banks withdrawals until season two hopefully rolls around – I tracked down where to shop some of the exact pieces her character wears in the Netflix teen drama. Get the full scoop on her summer-ready wardrobe ahead. 8 Mood-Boosting Colors to Get You in the Summer Mindset

May 05, 2020 at 09:16PM I am so beyond ready to shop for summer, but I also know that my current mindset leaves me feeling a little clueless: where the heck do I start? Drawing up a mood board based on color is an easy way to begin, and I’ve done the thorough research. By browsing Instagram and scoping out the new arrivals on some of my favorite sites, I’ve determined eight colors that aren’t just “on trend” but also bright enough to make me smile, so I hope they make you smile, too. Slowly but surely, people are starting to venture outside as the season changes, showing off new swimwear in some of these bold shades or breezy house dresses that will eventually become cover-ups when it gets warm enough to soak up the sun. There are girlie colors here, like fandango, which isn’t your typical Barbie pink and is actually a bit more sophisticated, in my opinion, and then there are bohemian shades – shopping natural tones with major texture is definitely fashionable right now (think: crochet, ribbing, and quilted accessories). If you prefer the cooler side of the color wheel, then sea blue is sure to be a favorite, and it’ll also remind you of the ocean. Scroll through to see my summer 2020 palette, and shop some of my favorite pieces available now. I Looked at Over 400 Pants at Old Navy and Found the Most Comfortable Pair – They’re Not Sweats!

May 05, 2020 at 06:40PM I upgraded my loungewear collection with a number of matching sweats. Then, as much as I loved them, I hit a wall and felt like I needed to find some real pants. I think the sentiment I shared with coworkers was something like, “I have got to find some real pants.” Maybe a curse word was in there somewhere too. I headed over to Old Navy, scrolled through over 400 pairs of pants until I found a pair that looked like it had promise. The Mid-Rise Soft-Twill Utility Pants ($25, originally $40) was exactly what I was looking for. I immediately gravitated to the drawstring – I draw the line at zippers and buttons right now – and purchased them in the army green shade. As soon as they arrived I ripped them out of the bag and slipped them on. I was dying to know if they’d feel stiff, soft, heavy, etc. See how they stacked up below! May 05, 2020 at 06:05PM If you take a look at Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram, one thing you’ll notice – besides her amazing cooking skills, adorable children, and enviable relationship with John Legend, of course – is that she basically lives in silk robes.
