May 04, 2020 at 09:55PM I’m definitely the type of person who DMs pals and coworkers asking them if they own something I’m considering buying, or if they have a strong recommendation. And they’re all right this way. Related: Old Navy Just Released Matching Short Sets, and I'm Scooping Them Up Continue Reading… Author Rebecca Brown | Popsugar Selected by CWC

This Woman Re-Created J Lo’s Bejeweled Balmain Met Gala Gown, and It’s SO Spot On

May 04, 2020 at 07:33PM Even though the 2020 Met Gala will not be taking place this year, that hasn’t stopped inspired fashion lovers everywhere from getting creative in their homes. The #MetGalaChallenge, which was created by Billy Porter and Vogue, encourages individuals to re-create iconic Met Gala moments from the past while sheltering in place. (We’re still cackling over Mindy Kaling’s version of Jared Leto’s Met Gala look – floating head and all.) One blogger, Sanja Nestorovic, stole the show by recreating not one, but four gorgeous Met Gala looks! Sanja spent a lot of time creating some of the Met Gala’s most memorable looks including Jennifer Lopez’s bedazzled Balmain gown, Emily Ratajkowski’s custom Dundas gown, Kylie Jenner’s black Alexander Wang gown, and Celine Dion’s shimmery Oscar de la Renta dress. Our favorite has to be her J Lo gown because of how intricate it is. After interviewing her, we learned that it took her a whopping eight hours to make the gorgeous outfit. As for materials, she used trash bags, recycling bags, paper towels, toilet paper, and tape to make the gown. “[Jennifer Lopez‘s dress] definitely took more time than any other because I had to cut my trash bag into so many pieces to make it look equal. Each gem sticker was put on by hand, one by one, and I used scotch tape to cut into details as well,” Sanja told us. We love that she even nailed the singer’s poses! We’re not the only ones

Outer Banks: I’m on the Wait List For John B’s Beach Day Shirt, and I Won’t Give Up Till It’s Mine

May 04, 2020 at 05:57PM Full disclosure: at the time I’m writing this, I have only watched one episode of Netflix’s Outer Banks, which, understandably, is all the rage right now. Aside from being filmed in a beach town, thereby providing a method of “vacation escapism” when our world could really use it, it’s also a story of friendship that fans hope to follow into a second season. With a beach town comes beach shirts, and in the first episode alone, John B, played by Chase Stokes, already set my heart on fire with his Duvin Design Co. Beach Day Buttonup. Naturally, the moment I saw it, I paused the episode (no, I couldn’t wait until the credits rolled) and did some careful digging. The shirt, which retails for $63 and features a crew of ladies sunbathing, is currently sold out, but you can enter your email to receive updates about restocking information. You can be sure that when that email pops into my inbox, I’ll already have my credit card in hand. I’m seriously considering tucking it away in my bedside drawer, just in case this all goes down in the wee hours of the morning. I can imagine wearing this perfect lightweight shirt as a swimsuit cover-up or with baggy jeans and braided slides when I want to channel my inner Californian this summer. Also, as a big fan of The O.C., the totally awesome, slightly eccentric pattern reminds me of Seth Cohen’s great taste, albeit in a

Selena Gomez’s House Slippers Look So Cozy, I Can Practically Feel How Soft They Are With 1 Glance

May 04, 2020 at 04:38PM Selena Gomez‘s at-home style is as cozy as we imagined. The singer showed off her new makeshift studio at home so she can create some tunes while staying safe. Selena looked comfortable in a gray sweater paired with blue sweatpants while sitting on the floor of her new studio, which features insulated walls, a music stand, and a microphone. It is exciting to see that the singer is already back in the studio after just releasing her new album, Rare. Her sweater came in an oversize silhouette that looked perfect for everyday wear and recording new jams. We also noticed a pair of fuzzy slippers on the side of the photo that looked utterly comfortable. Selena’s Instagram reminded us of the importance of a good pair of house slippers, especially since we’re all staying at home at the moment. Her plush, fuzzy slides came in a classic, neutral brown hue that matches just about everything from jeans to a dress. TBH, who wouldn’t want to feel like they’re walking on clouds? Keep reading to get a closer look at the bare-faced beauty’s cozy footwear, then shop some affordable picks if you’re looking to update your work-from-home attire. J.Crew Files For Bankruptcy, but Will Stores Close? Here’s What You Need to Know

May 04, 2020 at 04:37PM J.Crew has filed for bankruptcy to eliminate $1.65 billion in debt, releasing an official announcement on the company’s website. J.Crew is the first major US retailer to announce bankruptcy during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been affecting businesses large and small. But before you panic, wondering where you’re going to score that perfect gingham swimsuit for summer or those trusty, well-tailored suit separates, know this: J.Crew is not planning on closing its stores, and Madewell is safe, too. J.Crew and Madewell will continue to monitor the coronavirus and reopen retail locations once it is safe to do so. Madewell is still set to remain a part of J.Crew Group, Inc, which, as of May 4, owns and operates 181 J.Crew stores, 140 Madewell stores, jcrew.com, jcrewfactory.com, madewell.com, and 170 factory stores. Related: Shop While Giving Back: 50+ Fashion Brands Donating to COVID-19 Causes It’s also important to note that during our country’s unprecedented time of crisis, J.Crew and Madewell have come together to give back to the healthcare system and provide cotton face masks to customers, finding a way to positively utilize production services given the current climate. While J.Crew isn’t going anywhere yet, it’s definitely disappointing to see some of our favorite businesses struggling, and we’re sad to hear the news about J.Crew’s financial struggles.
