Kim Kardashian Did a Steamy Photo Booth Sesh to Show Off the Skims Mesh Collection
May 18, 2020 at 07:50PM Kim Kardashian is back at it with a new Skims collection called Summer Mesh, and, of course, she’s the first to model the new styles. Kim showed off the collection of breathable, ultra-soft mesh styles, which are designed to stretch and cling to your body, with a series of photo booth images shot on her laptop. The semi-sheer silhouettes are perfect for warm weather lounging. As always, the new collection of intimates and loungewear is both size and shade inclusive. It will be available in sizes XXS through 4X and will come in five tonal colors. The collection introduces two new bralette silhouettes and two new underwear styles: the Summer Mesh Scoop Bralette, the Triangle Bralette, the Summer Mesh Thong, and Summer Mesh Brief. These light, barely-there styles are made out of airy mesh that provides a comfortable feel and body-hugging fit that’s great for layering under clothing or wearing alone. The Summer Short is also a great addition to your loungewear collection. Pricing for Summer Mesh ranges from $22 for the thong to $48 for the T-shirt. Keep reading to take a look at Kim modeling the collection ahead. Then, set your alarms to shop the collection on May 21 at 12 pm EST exclusively on skims. Self-Isolation Diary: A Day in the Life of Lainey Lui
May 18, 2020 at 01:00PM We’re officially in Month 3 of self-isolation with an uncertain road ahead but for some much-needed inspiration, FASHION is reaching out to some of our favourite Canadians to get a peek into how they’re living their lives in lockdown (remember: #StayHomeSaveLives). Each week, keep an eye out for new self-isolation diaries from actors, designers, influencers and artists who are riding this uncertain time out with us. Elaine “Lainey” Lui, co-host, CTV’s The Social; anchor, Etalk; founder and editor, LaineyGossip.com Tuesday, May 12, 2020 @ 5am My phone alarm goes off. Every day it’s like Fifty First Dates where I have to be reminded that this is reality. My first thought is always… SERIOUSLY?! STILL?! My second thought, today, is that it’s not a hair-washing day which means maybe I can go back to sleep for half an hour. My third thought is that even though it’s not hair-washing day, I have to get up this early because I’m stupid slammed for eight hours straight without a break so I need to start writing my column and finish at least two thousand words by 8am. Then I knock over my mug of water. It spills everywhere, I have to turn on the lights and wake up Jacek. Is this an omen? Is my day about to be all kinds of f*cked up? Now I’m checking my texts, with dread. Sure enough Bryan Adams decides to become a social media scandal. 5.15-7.15am I allow myself 45 minutes
20 of the Best Candles to Make Your Home Feel Like a Spa
May 17, 2020 at 06:00AM Let’s be honest: If there was ever a time for bringing a little extra zen into our households, it’s probably now. When we asked what you wanted to read about at the moment, the answers we heard back again and again revolved around home comforts—simple ways to bring a bit of normality to your routine. (This is in addition to great loungewear, chic WFH outfits and the best at-home beauty tips, of course.) So we put our heads together and thought of the simplest home-comforts team Who What Wear kept coming back to: a great-smelling candle. It’s the little things, right? When it’s difficult to separate your work and home spaces or switch off your mind when you need to, something like lighting your favourite candle can be one of the easiest ways to change the vibe of a room and get you to that happy place. We all have our little routines—whether it’s surrounding a daily bubble bath or doing an at-home yoga session—and after you’ve switched off your laptop or TV after a long day, lighting a candle goes a long way in accessing that much-needed self-care moment. We thought, then, that we’d round up the best-smelling, calm-inducing candles out there. Some are cult fragrances that will make you feel like you’re in your favourite spa immediately (hello, Diptyque Baies) and some are our insider favourites that smell way more expensive than their high-street price tags. 12 Ways I’m Styling My Birkenstocks at Home
May 10, 2020 at 06:00AM I have always been a practical person when it comes to shoes—well, practical for a fashion editor anyway. I tend to stick to styles that I don’t have to think about. I can’t stand those shoes that enjoy reminding you every five seconds of their existence by A) flying off your feet or B) rubbing your poor heels into oblivion. That is not to say I don’t think about aesthetics, and so you can imagine my delight when the comfy hiking sandal was declared an object of fashion veneration in 2019. Fast-forward 12 months, and we are all in a very different situation (to say the least). However, my penchant for practical shoes remains and has become somewhat useful in my new work setting. The average day includes mooching around the house, working on my laptop and sitting on the sofa, but I didn’t want to be stuck in slippers 24/7. My solution? Birkenstocks. Yes, you’ve had a pair since you were 15, and they’re not exactly a groundbreaking discovery, but all the same, let me inform any fellow Birkenstock virgins that I have literally not taken them off for the last two months. After much deliberation and research, I opted for the Arizona EVA iteration, which is slightly cheaper than the classic Arizona and made of the brand’s signature EVA fabric, which looks like leather but feels like a softer form of flip-flop material (no need to wear them in, hurrah!). They cater perfectly to my WFH needs and truly go with every single outfit, from jumpsuits and jeans to midi dresses and slip
From Ganni to Rixo, Here’s What Your Favourite Designers Are Wearing at Home
May 09, 2020 at 06:01AM Over the last few months, many of our lives have changed immeasurably. From a complete adjustment in work routines to drastically altered social lives, relatively nothing is the same as it was back in February. While we all are processing these changes differently, adjusting to a life in which many choices are beyond our control, one factor that has remained within our control is the way we choose to get dressed in the morning. Whether you have opted to completely embrace loungewear or prefer a slightly more polished aesthetic, there is no denying that what you wear each day can have an impact on your overall outlook and even mood or productivity. With this in mind, I decided to turn to the experts and asked a few of my favourite designers exactly what they have been wearing to work from home. And with answers from the women behind some of the fashion industry’s buzziest brands—including Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey of Rixo, Ditte Reffstrup of Ganni, Haeni Kim of Kitri and Rejina Pyo—you’re definitely going to want to read on. Whether based in London or across various parts of the globe, a common thread amongst all the designers is that they are continuing to dress up despite remaining at home. From flowing midi dresses to loose-fitting jeans, comfort is, of course, a priority, though their style and personal aesthetics have not wavered. If you’ve ever wondered what your favourite designers wear when they’re off duty, this one is certainly for you.

The 4 Outfits Carrie Bradshaw Would Wear If She Were Working From Home in 2020
May 01, 2020 at 06:00AM She spent many a morning tapping away at her laptop; pontificating on the meaning of love, men, and Manolo Blahniks; mooching ’round her flat in boxer shorts; cradling a cup of coffee; and gazing blankly out the window. Yes, I have no doubt that Carrie Bradshaw would be well-versed in the art of working from home if she lived in modern-day Manhattan. We might’ve left her immortalised in 2004, but it doesn’t take much to picture her in 2020, iPhone in hand, navigating the politics of online dating during lockdown, all the while updating her Instagram feed with arty mirror selfies and desperately tweeting Il Cantinori about its takeout service. (She hasn’t used her oven in 25 years.) Of course, we all know that in reality, a freelance writer with a designer shoe habit could never afford to live on the Upper East Side, but this is magical TV land, and we’ll take all the escapism we can get right now. So in the spirit of things, we couldn’t help but wonder what CB would wear at home had the series run today. We decided to fabricate four imaginary working-from-home looks that we would’ve loved to see Ms. Bradshaw in and included plenty of references to some of her most iconic getups but updated them for 2020. From clogs (who else would dare to attempt this trend?) and fluffy mules to blinged-up cardis and menswear shirts, scroll down to see the outfits Carrie would wear during lockdown. Style Notes: Carrie loved a good sultry slip, and I can totally imagine her lounging on Aidan’s chair, phone in hand, cocooned
Should You Still Be Wearing SPF Now That You’re at Home?
April 24, 2020 at 07:45PM With stay at home restrictions in place for at least another month in Canada, we continue to adapt to our new ‘normal’ and the challenges and questions it brings with it. Since all non-essential businesses have been temporarily shuttered to help stem the spread of the pandemic, we’ve been forced to take many a beauty matter into our hands: from caring for and colouring our hair, to removing gel manicures and acing the application of press-on nails, taming our brows and having virtual beauty consultations to answer our seemingly endless array of questions. One of the most common questions we’ve been hearing from friends and colleagues is whether or not there’s a need for wearing SPF now that we’re at home most (/all) of the time. We all know SPF is a non-negotiable in a daily routine that involves being outdoors. But what happens when we’re only moving from our bedrooms to our work spaces in a day? In short, you still need to wear your SPF like you would have before social distancing measures began, says Holly Thaggard, the founder of cult suncare brand Supergoop. “UVA rays are present throughout the year at the same intensity, even when we experience cloudy, springtime weather, and the damage they cause is not always immediately visible,” says Thaggard, adding that SPF application is particularly important for those “working near a window or somewhere in your [space] with natural light.” She adds, “UVA ray damage accelerates most of
