While some of us are thriving as we take a more laissez-faire approach to our appearance, others are itching to get back to the salon. The brand does, indeed, offer up a spectacular lineup of skin heroes, and some of the brand’s main talking points are simplistic, in-demand formulas clocking in at very impressive (i.e., budget-friendly) price points. However, as much as we love The Ordinary, it’s actually not the holy-grail skincare brand we’re referring to. Beauty lovers everywhere, meet The Inkey List—the under-the-radar brand that delivers sleek and minimal product formulas for under £15 each. Yep, you read that right! Founded by former Boots’ branding and product developers Colette Newberry and Mark Curry, the British company has been garnering lots of talk and excitement about its unique M.O.: formulating whip-smart products made with the most well-known—and wanted—skincare ingredients. (Think rosehip oil, hyaluronic acid, collagen, retinol and more.) And, of course, in typical Brit style, we have managed to simultaneously celebrate by basking in any patch of sun we can find while still complaining about being hot and bothered. 5 of the Easiest Ways to Clean Out Your Wardrobe
June 02, 2020 at 06:10PM My mum, Nancy, recently messaged me that it was time for her to clean out her wardrobe. While she has a range of timeless pieces that will remain staples, she knew there were a few—as she said—”meh items” that needed to go. While she has a strong sartorial eye, she wanted a check on whether or not the items she wasn’t wearing as much should be donated (when she’s able to do that) or saved. Given that we’re not near each other right now, I had her text me the pieces she wasn’t feeling for her own personal style. I then responded with either “purge” or “put back.” While she didn’t necessarily need to replace the “no” items with another forward item, she was interested in hearing my thoughts on trends to consider down the road. So I rounded up a few of the items my mom is getting rid of, along with some visual inspo from cool fashion girls highlighting the trend counterparts that could be worth adding to her wardrobe when she’s ready. It’s not that I’m addicted to tanning or anything (trust me, sun-induced premature ageing means I am slathered in factor 50 all summer long), it’s just that I really love the heat. These 5 Colours Are the Key to an Expensive-Looking Summer Wardrobe
June 02, 2020 at 06:06AM Right now, London S/S 20 fashion week—which took place last September—probably feels like a distant memory. It was back before the term social distancing was used in our daily vernacular and the need to strategically plan a once-a-day walk was an absolute necessity. When the thought of crowded rooms filled with editors and influencers seemed completely normal, and hugs and handshakes were just regular friendly greetings. However, despite the fact those runways feel a world away, many of their lessons are more relevant today than ever. From colour predictions to clothing trends, September’s collections acted as a crystal ball, enabling us to understand what would be most in-demand over the next few months. In terms of colour, the runways were filled with a mixture of calming sky blues and shades of shocking pink. (You can thank JW Anderson for the former and Jacquemus for the latter.)
