We Predict This Will Be the Trending Top of the Summer

May 31, 2020 at 06:00AM Sometimes a trend comes along that’s so simple that anyone can get in on it without feeling like they’re being too ostentatiously “fashion.” Today, that trend is the sleeveless T-shirt. Once reserved for rock stars like Debbie Harry, thanks to brand of the moment The Frankie Shop’s versions, this top is now firmly back on the fashion industry’s radar. The defining details of the current style are that it needs to be sleeveless (of course) but with slightly oversize shoulders and a round neck. Colours are kept simple with white, cream, black and grey being the most acceptable hues. However, stripes and muted pastels are also great options. Further proof that this trend is going to be ubiquitous for the season is that you can find the top from luxury brands such as The Row and high-street stores like Weekday—ideal for whatever your budget is. And if you’re saving the pennies right now? You can always chop off the sleeves of a T-shirt you don’t love anymore.  Before you decide to invest, perhaps it would be good to know how to wear this look? The brilliant thing about it is that it’s a simple top, so you can wear it with anything, and it’ll look great. My personal preference is to pair with jeans, but a denim skirt would look just as fab or a pair of shorts when it gets hot in the summer. As for accessories, layered gold chains and a pair of oversize black

39 Summer Pieces You’re Going to Fall in Love With

May 31, 2020 at 05:00AM There’s no escaping the fact that this summer is starting to, and will continue to be, a bit of a weird one. From weddings being cancelled to being unable to see our loved ones, as well as missing out on warm nights in a beer garden, there’s a lot of frustration and sadness right now. At Who What Wear, we want to offer a bit of escapism, and while we’re all scaling back how much we’re shopping, whether for environmental, ethical or economic reasons, there are some items of clothing that are simply joyful. I asked some of my favourite fashion people what they love for summer right now, and they all chose fun, pretty and colourful pieces. It’s not going to transport you to a BBQ with all your nearest and dearest, but it might put a smile on your face.  London-based Eni always has an eye for super cute styling. Whether it’s a bold green dress with loafers or an ice cream hue outfit paired with bright orange strappy sandals, there’s always inspiration to find on her Insta page.  We long-time fans of Ellie, AKA Slip into Style, a fashionista from Martinique living in Paris. From Jacquemus to Réalisation par, she always showcases the coolest French brands. That said, she’s got an eye for finding expensive-looking pieces on the high street too—a woman after our own hearts.  Nnenna’s wardrobe just makes us happy. We’ve already talked about how she’s a whiz with mixing prints and colours so

The & Other Stories Dresses That Will Make Sofa Dressing So Much Fancier

May 30, 2020 at 06:00PM It might be the early stages of spring, but it seems as though summer has taken the liberty of jumping the gun and blasting the UK with a mini Costa del Sol–esque heat wave. With the mercury skyrocketing from 8 to 23 degrees in the space of a week, we’re having to dramatically change tack clothing-wise, and swap our cosy fleeces and cashmere socks for floaty midi dresses and chunky sandals. Add to this the fact that many of us are confined to our homes, meaning we have to add “must be comfortable enough to wear when lying horizontally on the sofa” to our wardrobe criteria. Luckily, thanks to last year’s penchant for the smock dress, many of us will already have a few comfy dress options in our wardrobes—think throw-on-and-go numbers that you would usually wear on holiday. However, if you’ve found yourself with a spring dress-shaped hole in your wardrobe, we would recommend heading over to & Other Stories, Who What Wear’s high street go-to for directional yet versatile styles. From easy breezy minis to polished prints, we’ve done the hard work for you and found the best spring dresses at Stories right now. Scroll down to see what we found.  Style Notes: A checked smock dress is just what we want to wear when the temperature rises and all we want to do is laze around on our sofa.  Style Notes: For a bit of whimsical styling, make like Rachael Clifton and try a puff-sleeved minidress.  Style Notes: Sometimes less is more, and thankfully, the ’90s strappy dress

Makeup Artists Say These 7 Tightening Face Creams Are Injection-Level Effective

May 30, 2020 at 01:30PM Ask any makeup artist, and they’ll tell you prepping your complexion with high-quality, strategic skincare products before going in with foundation, concealer and powder is just as (and perhaps more) important than the makeup application itself. In order for your makeup to look amazing, the goal is to get your skin looking and feeling its absolute best. We’re not talking perfection; we’re just talking coaxing your skin into living its best and glowiest life courtesy of A+ products. Think about it this way: You wouldn’t show up for a marathon without putting in ample work and training beforehand. And in a way less dramatic sense, the same goes for your skin. Celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff (who works with Margot Robbie, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kate Bosworth and more) once said she nurtures and prepares the skin for at least 40 minutes before starting the makeup process pre–red carpet. Of course, we don’t expect you to go to those kinds of lengths (for the record, we’re not attending red carpets and hardly have that kind of time or patience), but something can be learned from that type of expert-level stratagem.  Even though we know most celebrities have an army of experts, products, and in-office treatments to help keep them looking right and tight, we asked three of the most sought-after makeup artists in the industry (from Paris, London, and New York, no less!) to share the absolute best skin-tightening face creams they swear by for their lifting perks. Then, we took it even further

The Little-Known Basics Brand Rosie HW Is Turning To

May 30, 2020 at 11:45AM It is a sign of the times that even the most formal dressers among us are living in tracksuits, sweats and gym gear. While I’m sure this was always the case in the confines of people’s homes, now seems to be the first time we are actually seeing images of what everyone wears when off-duty. Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley, who previously only shared campaign imagery or red carpet–worthy looks, has taken to sharing images of herself in her joggers (or “sweats” as they are referred to in the U.S.). Unsurprisingly, when it comes to casualwear, Whiteley’s at-home outfits are just as noteworthy as you’d expect. The model recently posted a photo of herself in Les Tien tracksuit bottoms. Made in the U.S., Les Tien creates simple basics and unisex loungewear, including hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers, with a focus on comfort and quality fabrics.  Just over a year old, the brand launched in December of 2018, though now that it has Rosie HW’s seal of approval, we can imagine it will only be a matter of time before Les Tiens is on everyone’s radar. May 30, 2020 at 05:00AM Weekends are going to look a little different this summer. There are no two ways about it.While once we may have met friends at pubs or cafés en masse, now we’re having to socially distance in parks alongside one other individual. Group brunches have been replaced with quiz-filled Zoom calls, and trips home to visit family or loved ones are now relegated to digital FaceTime experiences.  And while summer 2020, will certainly not have the same feels as years passed, there’s no reason your wardrobe has to reflect this readjusted state of being. With that said, I’m here to bring you weekend outfit ideas that will feel fresh this season, regardless of the plans you have in store.  From tailored, suit-inspired shorts and a knitted tank to bright patterned trousers and a vibrant cardigan, there are no rules when it comes to summer dressing. This Is How Our Favourite Fashion Girls Are Looking After Their Hair at Home

May 30, 2020 at 06:30AM There’s no doubt that the current situation has affected our daily beauty routines in different ways. While some of us are thriving as we take a more laissez-faire approach to our appearance, others are itching to get back to the salon. One thing that unites us all in our recent beauty experiences, however, is having to deal with lockdown hair. From grown-out roots to breakage, it seems we’re all at a loss about what to do with our lengths. Whether you’re indulging in more hair masks than ever or have even turned to an at-home cut, believe us when we say we really feel your pain. Constantly seeking new ways to deal with our misbehaving strands, we reached out to some of the chicest people we know to see what at-home routines they have adopted in a bid to get their hair to play ball. “My natural hair is pretty wild! As it is really thick, there’s a whole lot of frizz and volume (not in a good way) if I don’t use any products in it. It can also get quite dry so I always apply serums or oil to the ends after washing. Usually, I would blow-dry it straight and then run my GHDs over any parts that are a bit frizzy still.  “Since I’ve been at home more, I’ve noticed my hair seems drier than usual. Breakages are another pain point for me because, as my hair gets longer, it gets weaker. I can see it

If You Hate Heavy Facial SPFs, These Tinted Formulas Are Worth Knowing About

May 30, 2020 at 06:30AM If you’re anything like me, you’ll know what it’s like to absolutely loathe everything about facial SPF. Not only does it feel uncomfortable, sticky and often greasy on the skin, but it also, more often than not, leaves behind a ghostly white cast and makes your complexion look impossibly oily. And don’t get me wrong—I know that facial SPF formulas have come a long way, but let’s face it. We’re not quite there yet, are we? And it seems everyone struggles with facial SPFs for different reasons. Some find that the ingredients irritate their dry and sensitive skin, while others struggle with the way that the oily formulas sit on their already oily skin. Personally, I’m in the latter category. I like a glow, but I find that so many SPFs make my pores look triple their size, and applying any sort of makeup over the top in an attempt to rectify the situation is out of the question (unless I actually want to chase it around my face all day). No, facial SPF is not the one, but we have to wear it. And I have definitely settled on my favourite formulas that I know not to stray from. However, this year there’s a new type of facial SPF on the scene and I am all in. For days like these when applying a full face of makeup seems counterintuitive but I still want to feel like myself, I’ve been opting for tinted SPFs. Before this year,

Trust Me—These High-Street Beauty Products Smell as Good as Any Luxury Ones

May 30, 2020 at 06:00AM You might already know Arket as the place to find chic but generally inexpensive basics. The high-street store, launched in 2017 by the H&M group, has cornered the market on offering a minimalist dream with a Scandinavian edge. The pieces are trend-led and therefore manage to stay true to current looks, yet they’ll also tick the box of being classic staples for seasons and years to come. What you might not know is that Arket is also a great place to go for beauty products. It doesn’t have a huge range, but what it does offer, it does well.  Available in its collection are hand balm, hand lotion, body lotion, body wash, hand wash and scented candles in a variety scents, including vetiver (my personal favourite), geranium, oakmoss, neroli, and rosemary—all of which smell way more expensive than the price point.
