May 13, 2020 at 06:00PM Whether you’re a burgundy gal, a true red devotee or someone who is more partial to a pinky shade of raspberry, it’s fair to say that red is the most classic nail colour there is. In our experience, it also seems to be a particular favourite of the fashion girl—a relatively rare breed in the world of beauty, and the sort of person who tends to stick to classic colours and versatile, low-key finishes. With this in mind, we decided to turn to our editors to test our theory, and lo and behold, they all had a tried-and-tested faves when it came to red nail polish. Also, as a side note, this is a super-easy way to do a best of at-home self-care, so what more reason do you need to treat yourself to a new polish? All of the below you can DIY from the comfort of your sofa. Ideal. So without further ado, we present to you the 12 red nail polishes that come editor-approved. We’ve done the testing so you don’t have to. Scroll down to see our shortlist. “When it comes to my own beauty habits, there are very few things that I refuse to tolerate. Lipstick on teeth is one, dry feet in summer sandals is another. The one that frustrates me the most, however, is chipped red nail polish. If my red varnish has even the slightest inconsistency in just one place, it’s game over for every single nail. It’s important to me, therefore, that any formula I settle on

8 Types of Underwear to Invest in Before You’re 30
May 13, 2020 at 02:00PM We try not to be too prescriptive when it comes to fashion here at Who What Wear, whether that’s in relation to the shoe trends spiking on the runways or the rogue bikini trend proliferating on Instagram. Of course, we’ll never turn down a good dose of style inspo (the more the merrier), but we like to think that we offer you a range of options that you can pick and choose from. However, there are some things that really are fundamental to building a successful wardrobe foundation, and one of those is underwear. Feeling secure, confident and comfortable in what lies beneath is so important for starting the day the right way. And while everyone has different requirements in the lingerie stakes—depending on their shape and size—we found that, after a quick survey of the office, there were certain underwear styles that cropped up again and again. These eight styles, specifically, have been invaluable throughout our twenties and beyond. Obviously, this list isn’t reserved for those under the age of 30. Whether you’re 18 or 80, it’s so liberating to give your underwear drawer a spring clean and invest in some time-tested, winning staples. 17 Eye Creams That Actually Work on Dark Circles
May 13, 2020 at 11:00AM Of all the questions that I’m asked as a beauty editor, how to actually get rid of dark circles has to be up there as one of the most widespread enquiries. From my teenage sister whose laidback approach to studying often results in all-nighters spent at the library to my friend that has forgotten what sleep is since becoming a mum of three, dark circles are all-inclusive when it comes to who they target. Luckily, there are things that you can do to combat dark under-eye circles if they are bothering you—and one of the simplest places to start is with a decent eye cream. Kate Kerr, skin expert and director of the Kate Kerr London Clinic told me that there are two main ingredients to look out for when selecting the best eye cream for dark circles: “L-Ascorbic acid, a potent form of vitamin C, and a retinol-based eye cream which will help to strengthen the area.” So without further ado, keep scrolling for the best eye creams to invest in now to minimise darkness, reduce pigmentation and brighten up tired-looking eyes. Plus, there are some celebrity favourites in the mix too… Versed might be a new brand, but it’s already gaining popularity with this eye cream, one of the front-runners as a favourite product from the range. The gel instantly cools and refreshes skin and contains vitamin C to help brighten and diminish dark circles. The First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy (£26) has
Trust Monikh—3 Expensive-Looking Pieces She’s Just Found On the High Street
May 13, 2020 at 10:18AM There are hundreds of thousands of influencers in the social ether, but only a handful who we religiously stalk in order to virtually steal the clothes off their backs. Our primary target is Monikh—the London-based styling and shopping guru who seeks out the very coolest buys from every corner of the retail world. From her inspiring tips on re-wearing her well-chosen investment items to hunting down the coolest high-street pieces, her Instagram feed @monikh and website are a veritable hotbed of things you’re going to want to purchase immediately (and will never regret). Each week, Monikh will share her new picks exclusively for you… Since the arrival of May, I have had summer on the brain, and so my shopping picks all this week have a real holiday feeling (despite our lack of travel plans for the foreseeable). I’ve stuck to the high street this week, with some expensive-looking items from Cos, Weekday and & Other Stories. From a tie-up blouse to a beautiful linen blazer, keep scrolling for my three summer buys. “How perfectly chic is this shirt! I’m already styling it 1000 different ways in my head, firstly tied with these Bermuda shorts…” The short of 2020, which I’ll wear with chunky flat sandals. During my uni days I wore a blazer with everything, it was my look, which I then detested as soon as I graduated. Fast forward 10 years and I’m back in love. I will wear this on top of everything
Everything an Expert Wants You to Know About Looking After Afro Hair at Home
May 13, 2020 at 09:30AM Trying to keep on top of any kind of normal beauty routine right now is more or less impossible. Nail bars have shut shop, who knows when spa breaks will be a feasible weekend option again and, perhaps most importantly, hair salons far and wide are still, sadly, very much closed. And, as more and more people seek ways to care for (and dare I say it, even cut) their hair at home, we’re of the belief that there’s no reason any of us should come out of this social-distancing period with our hair looking any worse than it did when we entered it – you’ve just got to have the knowledge. Multi-award-winning afro hair stylist, Charlotte Mensah says, “Looking after your hair during quarantine is part of the building blocks of your psychological well-being. It’s a good time to embrace your hair and find out what makes it happy.” So, without regular salon trips, how do you go about looking after your natural hair at home? Mensah advises giving it a bit of a break. “It’s time to focus on hair health by changing your hair and scalp routine. Since you’re staying at home, there’s more time now than ever to deeply condition the hair.” Keen to know Mensah’s top tips? Keep scrolling. The key to looking after afro hair, advises Mensah, is to always think about moisture. “During this time, use moisturising conditioner and masks to strengthen the hair shaft and lock in moisture regularly. The 12 Specific Beauty Products I Buy From & Other Stories
May 13, 2020 at 06:30AM Take a quick glance through my wardrobe and you’ll be able to tell straight away that I’m a fan of & Other Stories. While I am by no means a fashion connoisseur, I do know that as a retailer, it does a rather great job of offering up chic yet wearable fashion options. And although I do love perusing the fashion section, when I’m shopping, there’s really only ever one thing on my mind: beauty. As more and more high-street stores amp up their beauty offerings, it is & Other Stories that sets the bar. In fact, in the past, when other brands offered up little more than budget hand creams at till points, & Other Stories had a whole collection of beauty goodies on offer. When it launched in 2013, it had enlisted cult perfume brand Byredo’s founder, Ben Gorham, and world-renowned makeup artist Lisa Butler to consult on its fragrance, skincare and colour offerings. Seven years later and things just keep getting better and better. With pretty packaging, great product efficacy and super-impressive price tags, there’s little I can fault. So next time you’re browsing the dresses, shoes or accessories (I mean, they’re all good), why not pop some beauty products in your virtual basket too? If you’re not sure what to choose, let me guide you to the best beauty buys & Other Stories has to offer. Fresh and delicate but a little bit milky and warming at the same time, this coconutty perfume also carries

May 13, 2020 at 06:16AM A brand-new decade only began a few months ago, and already the world has changed so significantly, it’s hard not to contemplate what the rest of 2020 might have in store. How to Stay in Your Loungewear All Day and Still Feel Chic
May 13, 2020 at 06:11AM If all you want to do right now is roll yourself up lengthways in a duvet and just lie there in a cosy cocoon, rest assured the Who What Wear team feels the same. But getting dressed can also be important for your mood and general well-being when you’re spending significant amounts of time at home, but that’s not to say you have to put on anything fancy. Far from the grotty grey trackies and old sweatshirts from the loungewear days of yore, there are now plenty of chicer items to consider. As such, we’ve hunted down some of the sleekest and comfiest pieces that will make you feel stylish while keeping you snug. Keep scrolling to see the women inspiring us to join the movement. Then shop our edit of the best loungewear buys. This outfit is everything we want to wear right now. If, like Ellie, wearing heels with your loungewear makes you feel better, just do it. If Alexa Chung says wearing pyjamas all day is okay, who are we to argue? Knitted dresses make for a sleek loungewear alternative if joggers just aren’t your thing. As do knitted-skirt co-ords. A mug of hot chocolate—the perfect accessory for any loungewear ensemble. Lesley proves you needn’t stick to muted tones. Embrace bright hues, and they’ll go great lengths to lift your mood. I Just Found 19 Stylish Staples at Topshop
May 13, 2020 at 06:00AM When hunting for good basics, Topshop might not be your first point of call, as it’s generally known for its cutting-edge, bright-young-thing appeal. It took me a fair few years to realise that below the surface, it offers an impressive groundwork of stylish staples. And once you know what to look out for, it’s really quite easy to spot these hardworking winners. So what’s the secret to finding Topshop’s expensive-looking staples? I tend to keep an eye out for good fabrics and unusual silhouettes—think a sculptural sleeve or cool neckline. Obviously, you want your basics to fade into the background and act as a canvas for more statement items, but it’s these details that can fool people into thinking you’re decked out in designer. I also really rate the Topshop Boutique line for elevated basics, and this season, I’m all over its white tees and luxe joggers. (You know that anything you try on from this collection is going to feel premium.) All set? Scroll down to see and shop the Topshop staples that I’m loving this season. These Sandals Were Sold Out Everywhere Last Year and They’re Finally in Stock
May 13, 2020 at 05:00AM Sandal brand Arizona Love popped up on my radar last year when I spotted a steady stream of Instagram influencers wearing the printed trek sandals. Jessie Bush, Erica Davies and our very own Who What Wear columnist Monikh were all spotted wearing the shoes. There was only one problem: They kept selling out. Thankfully, the brand has created even more styles and has been restocked on various online retailers. Much like the Velcro “dad” sandals by Chanel, Teva‘s classic hikers and all the other iterations before and after, these are sandals of the practical variety. While they’re a traditional hiking style, the multicoloured fabric wrapped around the straps make them so much more fun. The brand was started only a couple of years by French designer Leslie Halfon but they’ve become a real fashion-insider score, and completely sold out last summer. So take it from us: You’ll want to get your hands on these pretty quickly before it happens again. Style Notes: Trust Monikh to be wearing one of the biggest sandal brands around right now. Style Notes: Wear with a short white dress à la Jessie Bush. Style Notes: More proof that these look excellent with a summer dress. Style Notes: If you need some pedi inspo, then might we suggest a bold red for the leopard-print versions? Style Notes: Another great thing about these sandals is that, despite the bold patterns, is that they still work with plenty of other colours. Case in point? This lime-green dress as seen on Erica Davies. Next up, the
