May 12, 2020 at 06:00AM You never could’ve predicted that whimsical, milkmaid-style minis and midis would be the dress style that got the most airtime during lockdown, but as it turns out, people can’t get enough of the puff. Far from being a fussy, high-maintenance style, this frock’s free-flowing fit has won us over by the fact that it can be thrown on at a moment’s notice with minimal faff. Whether it’s heading to the supermarket, sitting on the sofa or Zooming your friends, you know this dress will be there for your every need. There has been one high-street style in particular that has caught my eye over the last week, and that’s H&M‘s white mini. Featuring a flattering square neckline, tiered skirt and puffed sleeves, it’s the exactly the sort of thing I want to be wearing as the mercury rises. It would look so cute with chunky sandals and a tan bag now, then with lace-up boots and trench coat on cooler days. Best of all, this little white number comes in at a budget-friendly £20, which is good news for those of us watching our bank balance but also means it won’t be around for long. Coming in both white and beige, this is sure to be your wardrobe workhorse of the summer. Scroll down to see the style and shop similar dresses. What French Girls Wear on Their Days Off
May 11, 2020 at 06:20PM When we find ourselves in a style rut, we can always rely on French women to help us out of it. With an effortless approach to styling and the ability to make even the most basic of pieces look premium, we’re constantly inspired by their wares. Which got us thinking, how do French women dress for their days off? We mainly see them elegantly sipping coffee under striped awnings or strolling serenely along the Seine, but what do they wear when they’re rambling around the house or catching up on chores? As expected, they still look effortlessly elegant when they’re off the clock. From failsafe jeans and cardigan combinations to billowing dresses and tennis skirts, keep scrolling to see seven flawless casual French-girl outfits, then proceed to shop the pieces you need to re-create them. Style Notes: French girls absolutely love cardigans, and Jeanne Damas is no exception. She often favours cropped, short-sleeve styles, which she pairs with simple vest tops and classic denim. Style Notes: It’s a common misconception that French women don’t wear bright colours. Ellie takes standout colours in her stride, even in the form of joggers when she’s off the clock. Style Notes: “Casual” doesn’t necessarily mean jeans—many French girls waft around the house in billowing, non-constricting dresses. Cue Sabina Socol’s gorgeous Sleeper dress. Style Notes: Thanks to their effortless ease, jumpsuits are a firm fixture in every French girl’s wardrobe. We love how Aude Julie gives hers a high/low balance with the addition of sneaks
& Other Stories Has a Spring Sale and These Are the Only Pieces You Need to See
May 11, 2020 at 02:47PM What’s better than tracking down the ultimate curated selection of dreamy summer dresses and comfy slip skirts? Finding out they’re on sale, for one. Purveyor of all things chic on the high-street, & Other Stories, is managing to fulfil both of these criteria right now as the brand has launched a Spring Treat sale, offering a selection of coveted wrap dresses, puff sleeve tops, accessories and more for up to 40% off. From pastel shades, which the brand does so well, to structured silhouettes and fluid fabrics, the sale selection features several on-trend options that are likely already at the top of your spring wish-list. I, for one, have had my eye on this green wrap dress since seeing Karina of Style Idealist post it to her feed last week and was pleasantly surprised to see it on the list of reduced items today. Aside from this summery number, I’m also dreaming about the brand’s vibrant orange wrap mini dress, its tiered floral maxi and its practical selection of structured boilersuits (which make the perfect WFH all-in-one outfit, in my humble opinion). For those picks and more, keep scrolling to see everything we have our eye on in the & Other Stories Spring Treat sale. Next up, the biggest S/S 20 fashion trends you need to know. This Is the £6 Skincare Product Beauty Buffs on TikTok Swear By for Clear Skin
May 11, 2020 at 06:30AM Ask anyone in beauty, and they’ll all agree that coming across any kind of affordable skincare that actually works is the equivalent of stumbling across gold dust. It makes sense, therefore, that The Ordinary is just about one of the most-talked-about brands in beauty. Offering up seriously effective products for prices that might at first seem too good to be true, there really is no wonder that everyone wants a slice of The Ordinary pie. It is because of the brand’s overwhelming popularity (and overwhelmingly great products) that beauty buffs have grown used to shortages. In fact, at any one time, you can almost guarantee that at least one product in the brand’s offering is out of stock nationwide (maybe even globally). And if you ask me, besides the fact that it offers up no-fuss, scientifically led products with seriously impressive ingredient lists for less than a tenner, the thing that makes The Ordinary so special is that, with no big-money marketing campaigns, its power has remained a bit of a secret among beauty fans. Well, until that little bottle of red stuff took over TikTok, that is. You see, although The Ordinary is readily available from some of our most-loved retailers, when you take a step outside of the beauty bubble for a minute (it’s hard, I know, but hear me out), actually not that many people know too much about its products and what they have to offer. Which, I must admit, can be a little bit
This Bra-Size Calculator Is a Thing of Genius
May 11, 2020 at 06:10AM Without the help of our bra-size calculator below, finding out (and updating) your bra size can be a time-consuming and downright annoying thing. There are loads of great places where you can visit to get your bra fitted (and I do venture afield, as you’ll see below), but the truth is that it’s super important to keep checking. Our bodies change fast (weight can fluctuate and our figures shift all the time), and wearing the wrong size bra can be rather damaging to your breast tissue. So although we would always recommend getting fitted properly, it is a great idea to be able to scope out your own bra size from home. That way, you can be on top of things when you’re too busy to visit a lingerie department every six months. The first thing you’ll learn? You’ve probably been wearing the wrong bra size for a long, long time. But don’t worry—you’re not alone in that mistake. It’s incredibly common for people to assume that they have bigger backs they actually do. (Or be scared of having a larger cup size for the fear that it will limit their underwear options.) Here’s where we step in to help. To get some expert intel, I headed to both M&S and Rigby & Peller. The latter is an old-school underwear shop that works very differently from other stores. Instead of measuring you, the bra fitters work by sight. They just look at your chest and work out which size you are. Both
I Think H&M, Arket and Mango Have the Best Summer Collections This Year
May 11, 2020 at 06:00AM We have been listening to our readers more than ever over the past few months, to ensure we are only delivering what you really want to read. There have been requests for how to cover your grown-out roots and loungewear outfit ideas of course, but I’d estimate that one in two messages we receive is asking us to keep with business as usual. We have never been asked to provide so many high street shopping edits. It’s unlikely we’ll be heading into a changing room for quite some time, and so curated edits and first person reviews can really help you to see if the e-commerce pictures match what will arrive at your front door. If you are missing some key items from your summer wardrobe, there are three high street brands that have delivered the strongest collections so far. H&M, Mango and Arket all have lots of easy-to-style, throw-on pieces that have enough personality to feel note-worthy, but are also classic enough to stand the test of time. Keep scrolling for the 10 best pieces for summer from H&M, Mango and Arket. For summer, H&M has lots of breezy lightweight separates, with linen and crinkled fabrics in neutral colour palettes. Our favourite throw-on items include a pair of linen joggers and a lemon-print dress that has us dreaming of Amalfi. Arket has a reputation for being one of the most reserved labels on the high street and the place to shop for elevated basics—however you would never guess this from
8 “Boring” Basics You’ll Want to Hold on to Forever
May 11, 2020 at 05:10AM While boring style tends to get a bad rap, when it comes to basics, I actually feel that boring is better. Not only do simple pieces tend to pair well with more things and have the ability to work harder for your wardrobe, but they’re also inherently classic and thus better long-term investments. So while you might not want to dress boring, shopping as such can actually be a good idea. Keeping this little lesson in mind, today I decided to round up the “boring” basics you’ll want to hold on to forever. In other words, if you’re cleaning out your wardrobe (as we’ve been doing a lot of recently), unless there’s irreparable damage to these items or they don’t fit, you probably don’t want to add them to your toss pile. To see, read about, and (of course) shop all eight of the categories that made the cut, just keep scrolling. Not only is the button-down a timeless staple, but it’s also one you can use in every season. Wear one alone, layered under something, or open as a light jacket. Either way, you’ll want to use (and hold on to) them forever. As the recent resurgence of all things suiting has shown us, a good pair of trousers will always have a place in your wardrobe. Basic leather slides are a spring and summer staple that, design-wise, don’t change often. Odds are that if you invest in a simple pair, you’ll want to wear them year

One of Team WWW has already added these to basket. Chunky sandals meet zebra print; shoe heaven is born. One of the best straight-leg styled I’ve seen on the high street. Yes, you can find Fendi for under £250. The pure definition of “pretty as a picture.” Wear with
These Are the Affordable Products Makeup Artists Swear By
May 10, 2020 at 06:30AM Don’t get me wrong. I love makeup. But recently I have felt a little wronged by so many of the brands that I swear by. You see, as a beauty editor, it can be really easy to get lost in the results of a product without taking into account the price of it. Recently, I stumbled across an old favourite foundation, so I hooked it back out and started wearing it again. I started receiving compliments on my Zoom calls and FaceTime chats with friends and started recommending the base to anyone who would listen. It wasn’t until a close girlfriend texted me the following that I realised something needed to be done: “Why have you just spent 10 minutes selling me on a foundation that costs £60? I just went to buy it, and I feel wronged. I was expecting it to be £8.” And truthfully, I felt a bit annoyed at the price tag too. There’s absolutely no doubt about it: £60 for a makeup product is obscene money. And sure, if you have the money to spend, I think a lot of the pricier products are worth it, but shouldn’t great makeup be accessible to everyone? The truth is there are so many amazing makeup products out there that have high-end results without a high-end price tag. So in a bid to give fabulous affordable makeup the shout-out that it deserves, I reached out to some of the best makeup artists in the business
12 Beauty Insiders Just Gave Me a Tour of Their Bathroom Cupboards
May 10, 2020 at 06:30AM Working in the beauty industry definitely has its perks. Not only is it an industry full of amazingly creative and inspirational women and men, but it’s also incredibly fun. Although we might not get to sit and play with lipstick and serums all day, it is a big part of the job. Which brings me to perhaps one of the most obvious perks, free products. And while being sent all of the latest beauty products is without a doubt a blessing, it does come with its issues. The main one being storage. You see, the number of new beauty products that launch every single week is a bit overwhelming, and quite frankly, it’s all too easy to end up having more products than you do space (and face). It wasn’t until I started to have a spring clean of my own collection a couple of weeks ago that I realised my at-home beauty-organisation system simply wasn’t working for me. I had boxes, drawers, cupboards and shelves full of products with no rhyme or reason whatsoever. So, seeking inspiration, I reached out to some industry insiders (and some of beauty’s biggest names) to see if they would be happy to share their beauty-storage secrets and give us a sneak peek at the sorts of products they reach for every day. Luckily, they all obliged. Keep scrolling to see what they had to say. “Storing my beauty product is something I’m always trying to figure out. I think the first thing to do
