I Just Found an Almost-Exact Copy of Carrie Bradshaw’s Naked Dress

May 02, 2020 at 07:00AM I never forget a good dress—fictional or real life. One such frock that will forever be permanently imprinted on my brain is the naked dress Carrie Bradshaw wears for her first date with Big in Sex and the City (season one, episode six). For the uninitiated, Carrie wore the naked dress in a photo shoot to promote her column and then decided to wear it on the date. It was short, stopped above the knee and had straps, but you couldn’t tell, and it was a perfect match for her skin tone. Hence naked dress.  Despite the fact that you would need real confidence to wear such a dress, I’ve found a similar version on the high street—from COS, no less. While the Scandi brand is known for doing pared-back dresses, sassy styles it isn’t. So it was a pleasant surprise to discover such a dress from the high-street store. The only real difference is that it’s longer than the original, which I think I actually prefer. Keep scrolling to shop the dress, and then shop an edit of the best COS dresses right now. 19 Outfits I Have Really Loved This Week

May 02, 2020 at 06:13AM While this certainly isn’t the way any of us expected spring 2020 to unfold, I take comfort in the fact that, together, we’re all making significant efforts to work from home where we are able to and remain indoors. But that doesn’t mean you need to succumb to wearing your pyjamas 24/7. I recommend you certainly make the most of it, but once you’re keen to start wearing proper clothes again, turn your attention back to this article.  I’ve been keeping a close eye on what some of my favourite influencers have been wearing while in their homes over the last week, and they’re dressing with the same chic aplomb I’ve come to expect—albeit sans shoes much of the time. And the best part is you likely already own the items you need to re-create every look that’s set to follow.  From chic co-ords and bright midi dresses to statement blouses and sharp tailoring, keep scrolling to see the best outfits on the ‘gram right now.  Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie Top Handle Bag in Black Intrecciato Leather Next, six flat shoes that are almost as comfortable as slippers. I Just Found 25 Amazing Second-Hand Designer Buys, and They’re All Under £300

May 02, 2020 at 06:00AM Second-hand-clothes shopping has long been a pastime of fashion enthusiasts and budgeting students everywhere. It is one of those hobbies that have always had a certain level of mystique and exclusivity, as it requires many hours of rummaging, an eye that can spot a winner among a tightly packed rail, and of course, a mental black book of the best stores, many of which require venturing into obscure corners of London to find. This has all changed in recent years, however, and thanks to social media and the power of e-commerce, vintage has broken into the digital sphere and reached a whole new audience. From Instagram sellers and online markets to Facebook marketplace and Etsy, there are so many ways to discover pre-loved clothing. Best of all, many of these platforms offer a more edited selection, meaning they’ve done the hard work for you. One of the biggest brands in the market has to be Vestiaire Collective, the resale site that allows the public to sell their unwanted designer goods using a stringent vetting and authentication process. For fashion lovers such as myself, it is a gold mine of affordable gems and one-of-a-kind buys. Stocking everything from contemporary brands, such as Stine Goya and Ganni, to industry matriarchs, such as Chanel and Dior, there’s so much goodness to choose from. So if you fancy dipping your toe in the world of second-hand fashion but are not sure where to start, I’ve given you a helping hand and found 25 designer buys that I would

I Wear a Black Tee Every Day—Here Are My 5 Favourites

May 02, 2020 at 05:00AM There are a few wardrobe essentials I rely on more than others to create my signature looks. Yep, a black T-shirt is one of said items. I legit wear a tee every single day as the base layer to my casual and even dressed-up outfits. My standard daily vibe consists of a black tee, joggers or jeans, sneakers and a leather jacket. For those more formal silhouettes, it’s usually that same idea but with a blazer and trousers in the mix. Even though I have a few uniforms in my rotation, I’m always looking for fresh outfit inspiration. To give you a sense of the looks I’m into at the moment (for you to either test out now or note for down the road), I’m sharing my top five chic and easy ensembles that fashion people have worn recently. And in case you’re shopping at the moment, I’m also highlighting how to get each of the inspired looks. I also made sure to include my absolute favourite black tees in the mix to get a sense of a few specific silhouettes that are great for quality and comfort. Teaming a black tee with a blazer is easy and impossibly chic. Go for leggings or straight-leg jeans, elevated accessories, and you’re set. This is the ultimate outfit to wear at the moment if you’re working from home with the black tee (into a muscle silhouette) and joggers. A black button-down opened up to reveal a tee is casual but sophisticated paired with

This Sandal Trend Is Everywhere This Year

May 01, 2020 at 04:10PM There are certain sandal trends that remain constant—among them leather slides, two-strap black leather, and sturdy Birkenstocks at the beach. However, one of 2020’s top sandal trends is a bit more left-field. This season, practically all of the key sandals feature an angular square toe. By Far and Jacquemus kick-started the look, but Bottega Veneta has officially put them on the style agenda with its sellout, angular-toe mules.  That said, you don’t necessarily need a designer budget to get in on the trend. There are plenty of pairs on the high street that also adhere to the square-toe trend, with some of our favourite pairs hailing from Topshop and Zara.  If you still need convincing, take a look at the inspiring outfits featuring square-toe sandals below. Then, proceed to see our edit of the best square-toe sandals.  Rosie keeps her look pared back to allow her square-toe mules to take centre stage.  Monikh elevates her jeans-and-jumper combination with the addition of square-toe sandals.  Vanessa’s collection is one of the most impressive we’ve seen.  Pernille gives her monochromatic ensemble a lift with some bright-red heels.  If your square-toe sandals happen to be mules, for extra style points, add a chic anklet.   The style will breathe new life into your trusty black trousers.  These thin-strap heels are minimalist perfection.  Jessie effortlessly matches the colour of her shoes to that of her strides.  Next: Five feel-good colour combinations that will lift any outfit. I Spent an Hour With VB’s Brow Expert—Here’s Everything I Learned

May 01, 2020 at 11:05AM When it comes to eyebrows, there’s one woman in the beauty industry who has become synonymous with perfect arches: Anastasia Soare. She’s the lady who started our worldwide obsession with brows. Yes, before Soare launched her eponymous brand Anastasia Beverly Hills with a flagship L.A. salon back in 1997—and a range of brow products in 2000—nobody gave two hoots about using makeup to shape their brows. (Trust me—photos of my sparse, over-plucked eyebrows in the early ’00s are proof enough.) Since then, Anastasia Beverly Hills has gone on to become the #1 brow brand worldwide, with a range of cult products to boot. Oh, and Soare is the only lady Victoria Beckham allows to touch her eyebrows. Praise indeed. So to say that I jumped at the chance to spend some one-on-one time with Soare would be an understatement… After the PR for Anastasia Beverly Hills gave me the heads-up earlier this year that Soare would be coming to the UK, I took the bold decision to stop shaping my eyebrows entirely. (As someone with seriously unruly brow hairs, this was a big step.) Luckily, though, this meant I was able to get some genuine brow advice when I did catch up with Anastasia. Plus, I asked Who What Wear readers for any burning brow questions in our Facebook group (So… Should I Buy This?), which Soare was only too happy to answer. Keep scrolling for the five things I learned from VB’s brow expert,

This Cult Brand Just Created the Prettiest Dresses On the High Street

May 01, 2020 at 10:00AM There are dresses and then there are Mother of Pearl dresses. The sustainable British label was created by Amy Powney and has been a hit amongst the fashion crowd for good reason—the dresses are often flowing, romantic pieces that are as classic as they are contemporary. They fit into any wardrobe and are the ideal keep-forever items. The brand’s spring/summer 2020 season favours colours such as black, white, blues and muted pinks for its tops, bottoms and frocks and a couple of checked jackets that will see you right through until September. There are of course polka dots and plenty of pieces embellished the with its signature pearls too. While we’re of course all for investing in those really great designer pieces, there’s no escaping the fact that luxury fashion, and often sustainable fashion, is expensive. So, boy, do we have some great news for you today. John Lewis & Partners has teamed up with Mother of Pearl to create a capsule collection featuring gorgeous dresses and blouses, a chic beige suit, as well as some great shirts and trousers. The most popular piece so far has to be the polka dot dress that clearly bears the brand’s classic style. And if you want to see how it looks, some of our favourite influencers have been styling it in different ways. Keep scrolling for all of those outfit ideas and then shop our edit of the collection. This Is the Ideal Throw-On Dress for Summer 2020

May 01, 2020 at 07:00AM I love my life being made easier. I mean, who doesn’t? And right now with everything going on, there are a couple of things that make me feel like I’m a bit more in control: i) having a tidy desk and ii) getting dressed in actual clothes but it not taking too much effort. This is the perfect segue then to talking about one of the greatest dresses of all time: the T-shirt dress. It is the simplest of creations. It can be short, midi or long. It can have a cute detail or be printed. But it must have short sleeves and a classic T-shirt neckline (usually crew, I will accept V). The real joy I take in this frock variety is that it can be as loose or as tight as you want–there are no hard and fast rules about how it should be worn. My personal preference is to wear it at a midi length in a black or bold block colour and paired with gold earrings or a chain necklace with chunky sandals. I’ve recently spotted a gorgeous fringed one from Raey, which I know I’d get tons of wear out over the summer. But there are loads more around right now so don’t just take my word for it and keep scrolling to see my edit of the best T-shirt dresses… Next up, the biggest spring/summer 2020 fashion trends you need to know. The One Product Dermatologists Wish Everyone Would Start Using

May 01, 2020 at 06:30AM I’ve always been into my skincare. (Ask any girl with hormonal acne and I’m sure she’ll tell you the same). The desire to find that one wonder product started in my teenage years, where I’d spend hours lusting over the just-launched cleansers and shiny posts of moisturisers in the monthly glossies, while most weekends involved poring over the shelves in Boots deciding how to spend the £30 I’d earned from my Saturday job. (Which, for the record, actually happened to be in Boots.) Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to try some of the best skincare products on the market and have created a routine that works for my skin and its needs. But I’m ashamed to say that my routine was distinctly lacking in one skincare product until about a year ago: SPF. Through creating content with celebrity facialists and chatting to dermatologists about the best ways to care for your complexion, I discovered that skin experts unanimously agreed that SPF was an integral part of any successful skincare routine. Yet so many of us—myself included—choose to ignore it. Personally, I think there are two main reasons for our hesitance around using a daily SPF: Firstly, the UK isn’t exactly renowned for its amazing weather (especially during the winter months when you might not have seen the sun for weeks). It isn’t normally until a heat wave rears its head on the weather forecast that we feel any kind of desire to start slapping on the sun protection on a
